Chapter 40 - unexpected morning

The morning light crept softly through the curtains.

Jay stirred under the warmth of the covers, feeling the familiar weight of Keifer curled against her. His steady breathing filled the quiet room, a comforting presence she had grown so used to.

Then… she felt it.

A sudden, unmistakable warmth between her legs.

Her eyes widened. Her stomach twisted.

"Oh no…" she whispered, realizing immediately that her period had started—and had already stained the sheets.

Keifer, still asleep, shifted slightly but didn't wake. His arm draped lazily over her side, oblivious to the little crisis happening.

Jay's heart raced. Panic and embarrassment rushed through her.

She slipped out from under him as quietly as possible, trying not to wake him, and grabbed the stained sheets quickly.

"Not now…" she muttered under her breath.

Her bare feet barely made a sound as she tiptoed toward the bathroom, arms hugging herself and the sheets.

Keifer stirred a little, murmured something in his sleep, but didn't open his eyes.

Jay let out a shaky sigh as she reached the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She leaned against it for a moment, trying to calm down.

"Okay… breathe," she whispered to herself. "It's just… it's just a period… nothing crazy… just…"

Her cheeks burned. Not just because of the mess, but because Keifer was still sleeping in the next room, completely unaware of what had happened.

Jay set the sheets aside, splashed water on her face, and took a deep breath.

This was just another chaotic moment in her life with Keifer—messy, unpredictable, and utterly hers.

Keifer's eyes had opened, catching the subtle chaos of the morning.

The sheets.

The stains.

He frowned, heart tightening.

Jay had slipped away quietly to the bathroom, leaving him alone with the messy reality of the morning. But he wasn't angry. Not even a little.

Instead, he moved quickly but quietly, gathering what she would need. Pads, fresh clothes, a small towel—everything he could think of to make her comfortable.

He knocked softly.

"Jay… it's me. Can I come in?"

Her voice floated back, faint but firm. "I'm… fine, Keifer. Just… give me a minute."

He hesitated a second, then whispered, "I'll be quick. I just want to help."

When he peeked inside, she was already in the bathtub, water warm and steaming around her.

Jay looked startled, cheeks flushing immediately.

"I—Keifer—" she started, but he held up a hand.

"Shh… it's okay," he murmured. His eyes softened as he knelt beside the tub.

Slowly, deliberately, he stepped into the water, careful not to splash, careful not to crowd her. The warmth of the bath mirrored the warmth in his hands as he reached out.

He poured warm water over her shoulders and back, letting his hands glide gently, massaging the tension away.

"You've been holding everything in," he whispered. "Let me help you relax."

Jay shivered—not from cold, but from the intimacy, the tenderness, the care. Her fingers brushed against his arm instinctively, curling into him as she let herself feel the comfort he offered.

"You're… unbelievable," she murmured softly.

"Not unbelievable," he replied, voice low and gentle. "Just… yours. I'm yours, and I'll take care of you."

The bath became quiet except for the sound of water and their soft breathing.

He brought the pad over to her, placing it carefully where she could reach.

"No words," he said softly. "Just let me help."

Jay's chest tightened, overwhelmed by the mixture of warmth, care, and the unspoken promise in his every touch.

For the first time that morning, she felt truly safe.

Wrapped in warm water… and Keifer's hands, her body and mind slowly relaxed.

And in that quiet, intimate moment, she realized once again—Keifer wasn't just someone who could drive her wild.

He was someone who would always be there.

No teasing, no games, no rushing. Just… him.
