Chapter 71 - glow

The mansion was bathed in the soft, golden light of early morning.

Jay and Keifer had just finished their morning bath together, the warmth of the water lingering on their skin and the quiet intimacy of shared moments still wrapping around them.

Jay padded into the living room, her hair damp, her skin glowing, and a soft, radiant smile tugging at her lips.

Serina, already busy with breakfast preparations, was the first to notice.

"Jay…" she murmured, turning toward her, a smile spreading across her face.

"There's something different about you this morning… You look… radiant, dear daughter."

Jay laughed softly, a little embarrassed, her cheeks warming.

"It's nothing, Mama… I'm just… rested, that's all."

Keizer, who had just entered the room, followed Serina's gaze.

He raised a brow, clearly noticing the same glow.

"Hm… I see it too," he said, his voice teasing yet gentle.

"Seems like someone is very happy this morning."

Jay looked down shyly, but Keifer, standing close behind her, smirked faintly.

The slight touch of his hand on her back made her cheeks warm further.

Serina shook her head, smiling fondly.

"You two… you're impossible," she teased, though the warmth in her eyes betrayed how much she adored seeing them like this.

Keizer chuckled softly.

"Yes, impossible… but perfect for each other."

Jay's heart fluttered, the morning sun reflecting off the happiness and closeness she shared with Keifer.

And for just a moment, the whole mansion felt lighter—filled with warmth, laughter, and the quiet glow of love that no one could miss.

That evening, the mansion had finally settled into calm. The soft glow of the lamps cast long shadows across the living room, creating a private world all their own.

Jay sat curled up on the sofa, a blanket loosely draped over her shoulders. Keifer settled beside her, his arm wrapping around her waist instinctively. She leaned against him, her head resting just under his chin, letting out a soft sigh.

"I missed this," Jay whispered, tilting her head so her hair brushed his chest.

Keifer pressed a gentle kiss to her temple. "Me too," he murmured. His hand traced slow, lazy circles on her back, a simple touch that spoke more than words ever could.

Jay looked up at him, her eyes soft, tired but happy. "Do you… ever think about how we ended up like this?"

Keifer chuckled, a low, warm sound. "Every day. And every day, I'm glad it's you."

Jay's lips curved into a smile. "I feel the same. Even when everything else is chaos… it's like this… it's perfect."

They leaned closer, foreheads touching, sharing the kind of quiet intimacy that needed no words. Keifer's fingers lightly brushed hers, their hands intertwining.

"I love you," he whispered, almost shyly, though his voice carried the weight of certainty.

"I love you too," Jay replied, her voice soft, warm, and unwavering.

Their eyes met, and for a long moment, they just existed in each other's gaze—quiet, safe, and completely theirs.

Keifer leaned down slowly, brushing a soft kiss along her lips. Jay responded instinctively, her fingers threading into his hair, holding him close.

They pulled back slightly, smiles lingering, hearts racing in tandem.

"Do you want me to love you more?" Keifer teased gently, his lips brushing her cheek as he whispered.

Jay laughed softly, nuzzling against him. "Always," she said.

They stayed like that for hours, wrapped in the comfort of each other, letting the world outside fade away.

In those quiet, stolen moments, nothing else mattered—only the gentle closeness, the soft whispers, and the unspoken promise that they would always be each other's.
