Indhra and Kyra both looked at the scenery of a barren wasteland. A land that had endless potential.
A memory passed through Indhra's mind as he remembered the clear of the lake from the point where he was standing. In his mind, the wasteland was a lake, a lake big enough to have the most marine life in Luvinia.
He slowly lifted his arm, his muscles contracting and relaxing in various movements to position it—a position which pointed at the barren wasteland.
Kyra, who was standing beside him, slowly looked at the lifting of the arm.
Indhra pointed at the wasteland using his index finger as he said with a deep voice," A lake!"
Kyra's eyes widened as she keenly looked and listened to the deep words said by Indhra.
" Many years ago! This was a lake!" He continued with an image popping up in his mind. The image transformed into a black-and- white video, which looked very old.
A huge blast surrounded Indhra as he imagined further. He imagined people running away. Some people's limbs were torn off from their bodies, but they continued to walk forward to survive from the enormous blast.
The shockwave shattered the glass of buildings, which then charged at the common civilians. Some died; these were the fortunate ones, since the unfortunate ones were the people who suffered the pain. They suffered loss of their parents, their children, or their friends.
" War!" Indhra said with a slight disgust in his tone," Death!" A sense of Rage appeared in his eyes as he thought of all the negative words that hurt people.
Kyra saw the rage and hatred in his eyes. What is he hiding? A question appeared in her mind.
" I will!" Indhra screamed to nobody as the world became real. The barren wasteland looked very clear to him now. " I WILL BRING PEACE TO THIS WORLD!"
His eyes burned with determination. Kyra saw his body movements. This was no joke. He is serious. Her mind answered.
As the air became tight, someone had to make it light with a joke.
" School's near!" She chuckled at him.
Indhra jolted with a slight embarrassment on his face. The embarrassment wasn't profound, as he had grown accustomed to it at this point.
" Huhh!" He sighed. He rubbed his hand behind his head as he spoke," Sorry to keep you waiting like this!"
Kyra turned back to see the stairs leading up, where a car was parked. Probably Indhra's.
She had a band around her back arm around the uniform of her school. 'LNS' was written on the band, which says, 'Luvnia National School', located just in front of a castle, or to say, the Taka Castle.
Indhra turned back and headed up the stairs. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the car key. He inserted the key inside the keyhole and opened the door of the driving seat, which automatically opened the other doors.
Indhra entered the car and sat in the driver's seat while Kyra sat on the passenger seat. The car was not very high-tech, but it had an in-built radio and a nice turbo engine.
In the back seat, there was a school bag and a lunch bag. The school and the lunch bag also featured the logo of LNS, which shows how the marketing government promotes communism.
Kyra had a ponytail, which was also compulsory for all the girls in this school.
Indhra inserted the key in the keyhole, which started the engine. He slowly twisted it so as not to break the keyhole since he had a nice childhood trauma with it.
Vroom! The engine made a sound as it began to start.
Indhra calmed himself and slowly pushed the accelerator. The car started to move.
Indhra was in the outskirts of the Taka city, and he had to go to the centre of the town where the Taka castle is located.
Half an hour later, Indhra arrived closer to the castle. He drove through the roads of Luvinia. The area where he was driving was a commercial district. In fact, this area was close to Indhra's cafe.
Kyra looked at the shops and the atmosphere of this empire. The air was brown here since this area is close to the industrial district of Luvinia.
Kyra couldn't hold back anymore, so she finally asked the doubt that was killing her down inside.
" How did the lake become what it is right now?" She asked while looking out of the window of the car. A fruit shop crossed by where Kyra looked at a pomegranate as Indhra answered.
" War!" Kyra, with a straight face, turned straight to look at the huge castle in the front mirror.
" War?" She slowly moved her eyes towards Indhra, demanding an answer.
" Sorry! World War!" He moved his hands from the steering wheel momentarily to make the conversation more fun," Well, atleast that is what is remained in the history books, I don't know anything else." he focused on the driving.
" That's weird!" Kyra commented with a sarcastic tone," Why, though? Didn't grandfather know about the war? He was a witness, am I right?"
Indhra's face showed disgust for some reason unknown to Kyra. He sighed and continued," Yes! In fact, he was a soldier who witnessed the warfields with his bare eyes. But for some unknown reason, the memories of war faded away from his mind; he couldn't explain anything to me!"
Kyra looked untrust of him.
" Don't believe me?" Indhra commented after looking at her face," Well, I remember that he had told me about an incident, but that memory has also faded away from my mind!" He gave a smile, trying to hide his disgust at remembering the words of his father.
Kyra chuckled," You don't have to lie to make me happy, you know that, right?" She took a tetrapack from her bag. She removed the straw, which was stuck to the tetrapack, and inserted it into the hole to drink the juice.
The tetrapack also featured the symbol of Luvinia, indicating the level of communism followed by this kingdom.
Indhra chuckled," But I am telling the truth!" The smile grew on his face as he saw Kyra's adorable face. Kids grow up so fast! He thought in his mind.
Kyra began to look out of the window of the car to see the buildings and the people living in Luvinia. She showed a bit of pity as she saw people eating human meat at a stall that sold roasted human meat.
Were they following cannibalism by their choice? The answer can be seen by their looks while eating the meat. Disgust could be seen. They hated themselves, but had no other option as they were poor.
Kyra remembered how they were in the middle-class section of the country, and it is this bad here. What would be the condition of the poor section of this country?
As Kyra saw the disgusting sight, Indhra couldn't bear the disgust in her eyes, so he decided to bring up a topic that he had been thinking about for many days but hadn't gotten the right time to ask Kyra.
" Girl!" He called her. Kyra gave a sound of 'yes' as she drank orange juice from the tetrapack. The straw was inside her as Indhra spoke," You have a crush on Aldred? Don't you?" Indhra spoke with a taunting tone.
Kyra spilled all the juice on the mirror as she got a mini heart attack. How the f**k does he know!
