Chapter 4 - The City That Survived ItsOwn Funeral

Chapter 4: The City That Survived Its

Own Funeral

Bhasmanagar did not look like a city. It looked like a grave that forgot how to stay buried.

Tower fragments pierced the sky like broken spears. Old palace walls were fused with demon bones. Streets were layered-one civilization built on top of another, each destroyed, each one refusing to vanish

completely.

Smoke never stopped rising.

Not from fire.

From life.

Blacksmiths hammered scrap demon metal

into weapons. Merchants sold dried beast meat, mana herbs, cursed relics, and fake god talismans. Refugees slept in collapsed temples, under bridges, inside monster

skeletons.

Bhasmanagar had one rule:

If you can survive here, you belong here.

No kings.

No gods

No demon lords.

Only contracts.

How People Live in Bhasmanagar

Food came from three sources:

Underground farms run by former dwarf

clans

Sea traders from hidden coastal cities.

And monster hunters who sold demon flesh.

Demon meat was dangerous

Eat too much and your body mutated.

But eat a little and your strength increased.

So poor people risked it.

Wealthy people refined it.

Water was filtered through mana stones.

Clothes were layered with rune-thread to hide

aura

Shelter was built inside ruins because demon

scouts avoided old god structures.

Money here

mixed:

Ash Coins for humans.

Mana shards for elves.

Bone tokens for beastkin

But real power?

Was information.

Parashuram Enters the City When Parashuram walked into Bhasmanagar

People felt it.

Not fear.

Not awe

A subtle pressure.

Like the air became heavier around him.

Mercenaries instinctively reached for

weapons. Scholars looked up from World

Seed tablets. Demon spies hiding among

refugees froze.

Ishira pulled her hood tighter.

"Too many eyes," she whispered.

Parashuram nodded.

He felt It too

The restriction tightening.

Not allowing him to dominate

Forcing him to exist as one being among

many

And for the first time...

He understood what humans felt

Small

Meanwhile Kālavajra

in the eastern ruins of Bhasmanagar

A boy trained alone

Kälavajra

His spear was old.

Taken from a destroyed temple where a god

statue had collapsed and crushed a demon.

general centuries ago. The spearhead was

cracked, engraved with faded Sanskrit runes.

Not divine

Not legendary

Just stubbom metal that refused to break..

Kälavajra thrust it into a stone pillar again.

And again

And again.

His palms were bleeding.

His breathing uneven

He wasn't training for glory.

He was training because last month a demon

pack killed his entire street.

And he was the only one who survived by

hiding under corpses.

He hated demons

He hated gods

He hated himself most of all.

Because he was weak.

That same night....

Parashuram passed near the eastern ruins.

He stopped

For a brief moment

He felt something.

Not power.

Not aura.

Will.

Raw, ugly, stubborn will

He looked toward the direction of Kälavajra.

But said nothing

And continued walking.

The World Seed recorded:

Two anomalies detected within one city.

Probability of collision: Inevitable"

Demon Rumors Spread

In demon territory.

Minor demon lords gathered.

A strategist stood among them.

Shukra Acharya.

Ancient

Immortal.

Smiling.

"So four lords vanished" he said calmly.

"And instead of attacking you panic?"

The demons growled

Shukra tapped his staff

"Relax Kalantaka already knows."

Deep within Naraka, the Demon King sat on

his throne

Kalantaka touched the scar on his chest.

A scar that never healed.

A scar from a battle no demon remembered.

A scar even Shukra refused to explain.

So the world finally produced another

anomaly," Kalantaka murmured.

"Good"

Daily Life - Kälavajra's

Kälavajra lived inside a broken watchtower.

Food dried demon meat stolen grain

Water mana-filtered rain

Clothes: stitched from monster hide.

He worked as a carrier for merchants

Delivering goods between ruins.

Getting paid in Ash Coins barely enough to

survive.

At night, he trained.

Not with technique

With rage

He had no system

No master

No blessing

Only instinct

The First True Incident

Three nights later.

A demon patrol entered Bhasmanagar.

Not official.

Rogue hunters

They started killing refugees near the eastern

sector.

Kälavajra arrived first.

Not because he was brave.

Because it was his street.

He attacked with his spear.

it pierced a demon's throat.

The demon laughed.

And backhanded him into a wall.

Bones cracked.

Blood splashed.

Kälavajra stood again.

The demon raised its blade.

And suddenly-

The demon exploded.

Not into fire

Not into blood.

Into mist.

Parashuram stood behind it

Silent

The second demon froze

Parashuram looked at it.

The demon ran.

Ishira rushed to Kälavajra.

"You're dying" she said.

She healed him instinctively.

Their eyes met.

For the first time,

Kälavajra stared at Parashuram.

Not with worship

Not with fear.

With anger.

"Why did you come now?" he asked.

Parashuram had no answer.

Only silence.

And for the first time in his existence....

Parashuram felt guilt.

Real guilt

Not cosmic

Human

That night..

The World Seed updated:

"Subject Kälavajra has now interacted with

Anomaly Parashuram

Fate divergence confirmed.

Original world line: terminated.

New world line: Unpredictable."

And far away in Naraka....

Kalantaka smiled.

"Found you."
