Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Skyrocketing Intelligence

It was called training, but everyone had different specialties.

In Draco's case, he practiced both martial arts and magic, knowing a little bit about everything.

Everyone could choose their primary direction of study.

They could go to special training grounds to practice combat with the knights.

Or they could go to the library to study magical knowledge.

Sunday was the day for mock battles between everyone—the day of testing.

Razen would serve as the examiner to observe everyone's cultivation progress. If someone's performance was too poor, they would be removed from the list.

While it wouldn't lead to death, the treatment would be worlds apart.

The whole group understood the stakes and took the training quite seriously.

After the meal, Draco carried the Fire Fox toward the library, mostly accompanied by girls.

This made certain boys green with envy and hatred.

Draco ignored them and simply walked in silence.

The Fire Fox seemed to sense the tension in the atmosphere and lay obediently in Draco's arms, letting him carry it.

Another person who surprised Draco was that Black guy.

This man was actually a healing-type mage, which was quite unexpected.

On the way, a short-haired cute girl struck up a conversation with Draco with an innocent expression.

"Brother Draco, does your Fire Fox have a name?"

The girl's name was Reina; she was eighteen years old and wearing a Lolita outfit.

He was dressed in designer brands, indicating his family background in his previous life was quite good.

In response to her question, Draco merely shook his head faintly.

"In this world, you cannot casually name a monster."

"Why is that?"

Reina blinked her eyes and asked, confused.

The girls nearby also looked at Draco curiously.

Draco felt no need to conceal such common knowledge, so he began to explain it to them.

"You can understand it as a World Law. Monsters in this world are divided into two types."

"One is a Normal Monster, and the other is a Named Monster. There is a significant difference in strength between the two."

"A Named Monster gains power bestowed by the namer, which is Magical Essence."

"Everyone has a limited amount of Magical Essence, and naming causes an irreversible loss of Magical Essence."

"If the Magical Essence in your body is insufficient for the naming process, then you're finished."

"Therefore, naming a monster is a very dangerous thing."

Hearing Draco's explanation, the girls nodded in sudden understanding.

"So that's how it is!"

"Wow, Brother Draco, you know so much." Reina said with a hint of admiration.

Draco did not speak, merely smiled slightly, held the Fire Fox, and continued forward.

A moment later, the group finally arrived at the library.

The library was unusually massive, covering an area a hundred meters wide, and was divided into five sections.

Each section was separated by an Isolation Magic Array, preventing outsiders from entering.

Countless books were displayed inside the library, a dazzling collection in immense numbers.

Thick dust had accumulated on the covers of some books, clearly indicating they hadn't been opened for a long time.

Some were already dilapidated, but these books were often more valuable.

They were precious ancient texts left behind hundreds of years ago.

Draco's purpose for coming here was to find a way to increase his own MP.

Inside the library, only two of the five sections were open to them.

Two others contained National Secrets that could not be disclosed.

The final section contained Forbidden Magic, which ordinary people were not qualified to access.

It seemed they had great confidence in the Isolation Magic Array within the library, as there were no administrators around.

"If I get the chance, I must check out what effects these Forbidden Magic spells have. Perhaps I can gain some insight from them."

Draco thought to himself, then began searching for the books he needed... Meanwhile.

Inside the Royal Palace Hall.

King Edmaris was listening to Razen's report.

"So, this year's Summoners include several promising individuals."

A smile appeared on Edmaris's face. This year's Summoners were indeed good, stronger than in previous years.

"Among them, your subject believes the most formidable is the one named Draco."

Razen continued, "Although his current strength is not very high, his potential is absolutely the best."

"If the Kingdom can allocate resources to him, your subject believes this person will definitely become a great weapon for the Kingdom."

The King was slightly surprised, "This is the first time I've heard you praise someone like this."

"This matter still requires Your Majesty's personal decision."

Razen smiled slightly.

"I naturally trust Sir Razen, but as for the safety measures..."

Seeing the King hesitate, Razen understood immediately.

"Rest assured, Your Majesty, the curse on him absolutely cannot be removed."

"As long as the curse doesn't disappear, he will have no choice but to obey our orders."

Hearing Razen's affirmative reply, a smile appeared on the King's face.

"Hahaha, good. Then, according to Sir Razen's suggestion, we shall allocate some of the nation's resources to him."

Razen bowed, "As you command."

After leaving the hall, Razen's expression turned somewhat sinister.

His lifespan was nearing its end. The reason he had stayed in the Falmus Kingdom all these years, serving as the Chief Magister...

...was to search for a suitable vessel.

He possessed a Forbidden Magic spell that allowed him to transfer his Spiritual Body onto another person.

He did this to maintain his own lifespan.

Originally, Razen's target was Taguchi Shogo, but after seeing Draco's combat footage today, he changed his mind.

What he needed was a strong body and powerful close-combat ability.

This way, combined with his Magister abilities, he could achieve Dual Cultivation of Martial Arts and Magic, becoming an even stronger existence.

This was also why he felt delighted upon realizing Draco could also use magic.

Such a vessel was practically tailor-made for him.

Thinking of this, Razen's gaze became intensely fervent, and his heart rate quickened significantly.

Now, all he needed to do was properly nurture Draco, this vessel, and wait until the time was right... Heheheh... Back at the library.

Draco was rapidly reading magic books.

His speed couldn't be described as reading ten lines at a glance; it was closer to a hundred lines at a glance.

He finished flipping through one magic book in less than 30 seconds, then immediately grabbed the next one.

The Little Fire Fox was busy running back and forth on the shelves for Draco, constantly retrieving and putting away books.

Everyone around him looked at him strangely.

Reina asked the blonde, blue-eyed Westerner beside her.

"Sister Rose, what is Brother Draco doing?"

"Uh..."

Just as Rose didn't know what to say, the Black youth seemed to realize something and exclaimed in shock.

"Could this be the legendary Quantum Reading Method?"

"..."

Everyone rolled their eyes at him.

You're talking about quantum mechanics to us in another world? That's ridiculous.

Draco had no time now to bother with everyone's reactions; he was focused entirely on reading the magic books.

"Faster, faster!"

Draco's expression grew increasingly excited, and the reason was...
