Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: The Roland Merchant Guild

"A 90-10 split?"

"Dame!"

"No way, no way, that's too little!"

"Then how about 80-20?"

"Dame, dame! Still too little!"

"70-30!"

"I can have Shuna teach your subordinates how to cook."

With the assist from gourmet food, Milim finally agreed to lend her territory to Draco.

After all, Milim couldn't stay in Nazarick forever.

"Oh, alright, deal!"

Finally, the two reached an agreement.

With this, Draco obtained the usage rights to Milim's territory.

However, she still needed to return to the Dragons Capital to discuss this with the high priest.

Draco also needed some time to prepare; he would only begin his grand farming project once he finished the matters at hand.

Just like that, another week or so passed.

Draco performed 'Summon All Things' four times every day.

Quite a few good things had accumulated in the Treasury, and ordinary weapons, scrolls, and the like were all ready.

He estimated they would be enough for a long time to come.

During this period, Sebas and Solution returned from the Kingdom of Falmuth.

Following Draco's orders, they brought back over a dozen human technicians.

As for what means they used to bring them back, Draco didn't care.

Draco placed these people under Albedo's responsibility.

He sent people to learn every bit of craftsmanship and technology they possessed.

Although the skills of these people were quite a bit worse than those of the Dwarf Kingdom,

they were more than enough to meet the needs of the towns on the plains.

Things like making glass, furniture, interior decorations, and so on were already sufficient... Inside the office.

Draco summoned Sebas and Solution.

"Next, I have an arduous task for you."

"Please give us your orders, My Lord."

"Come with me to the Eastern Empire. I need to establish a chamber of commerce in Andrew City."

"A chamber of commerce?"

Sebas pondered for a moment and said, "When do we depart, My Lord? I will prepare immediately."

"No need for such trouble."

Draco grabbed both their hands, and with a single spatial teleportation, they arrived outside Andrew City.

Efficiency was just that fast.

"Follow me."

The two followed closely behind. The three of them paid the entrance fee and walked into the city.

Inside the city, Draco went straight to the black market.

Although it was daytime, the foot traffic in the black market was still heavy.

Most were going to Caroline's small shop to purchase goods.

"Business seems to be good."

Draco walked into the shop and found Caroline arguing with a merchant about something.

"Um, I'm sorry, customer, but the recovery potions you want are out of stock."

The merchant's brow furrowed tightly. "I saw the people in front of me still getting some. Why is it gone now that it's my turn?"

"Are you looking down on me!"

"They're really gone. Why don't you look at something else? Our magic scrolls are also very good."

"Fine then. I'll take all that you have left."

At that moment, Aicia whispered into Caroline's ear.

"Um... the magic scrolls are also out of stock."

"..."

For a moment, Caroline was caught in an awkward position.

"Are you sure you want them all?"

Draco's voice appeared like that of a savior.

Hearing the familiar voice, Caroline's face lit up with joy.

"Master! You've finally come."

Aicia even lunged forward, wanting to give Draco a big hug.

As a result, she was kicked flying by Solution, who was behind Draco.

"Do not be insolent toward My Lord!"

"Ugh~"

Aicia rubbed her bottom aggrievedly. "That hurts."

Draco ignored this girl's antics and walked up to the merchant.

"I am the supplier for this shop. I have plenty of potions and scrolls. Are you sure you want them all?"

Hearing this, the merchant took off the hood he was wearing.

His skin was very fair, his eyes were bright and spirited, his nose was high-bridged, and his features were regular and deep-set.

He had a very long white beard and wore a single-lens gold-rimmed monocle; one could tell at a glance that this person's status was unusual.

The people around him lowered their heads in respect. "Mr. Roland."

Roland Magnum Medici.

This was the information Draco got from Aicia's mouth.

Supposedly, he was an old fellow with some quirks.

He was very famous throughout the Eastern Empire.

Not only did he possess powerful magic, but he had even mastered some secrets of the Alchemists.

Furthermore, this person was the big boss of the Eastern Empire's largest chamber of commerce, the Roland Merchant Guild.

"Young man, do you think that with my status, I wouldn't be able to buy out the potions and scrolls in this little shop?"

Draco was delighted; this was a big deal.

"Mr. Roland, is it? I have quite a lot of goods here. Why don't we find a place to discuss this in detail?"

"Very well."

Afterward, Draco handed Caroline three scrolls.

These were one-time-use spatial scrolls capable of storing ten cubic meters of items.

The maids had already sorted everything into categories; they contained equipment, scrolls, and potions respectively.

"You guys keep busy; I'll find you later."

After saying goodbye, Draco and Roland went to an upscale cafe.

"Mr. Roland, please have a seat."

"Mhm."

The two took their seats.

Sebas and Solution stood respectfully to the side.

"I am Draco. I have a big business proposal and would like to cooperate with you."

Draco didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point.

"Oh?" Roland nodded with a smile. "Let's hear it?"

"I originally planned to establish a trade route in the Eastern Empire, but after meeting you today, I've suddenly changed my mind."

Having been in business for so many years, Roland naturally caught the meaning behind Draco's words.

"Building a complete trade route requires a vast amount of time, energy, and financial resources."

"Does Mr. Draco wish to board the great ship that is our Roland Merchant Guild?"

"Exactly!"

Draco nodded with a smile.

"When the time comes, we'll split it 90-10—you get ten percent and I get ninety."

The corner of Roland's mouth twitched. "90-10? It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say you're committing extortion."

"This can't be called extortion; it's just a form of cooperation, mutually beneficial."

"Hehe, Mr. Draco makes it sound simple."

Roland took a sip of coffee and continued, "There are so many chambers of commerce in the world that want to board our great ship but never get the chance. Isn't Mr. Draco being a bit too idealistic?"

Draco shrugged his shoulders. "But you should have seen the potential of my three types of potions and various magic scrolls. They are definitely worth this price."

"A ten percent share is too low. Our chamber of commerce also needs to be responsible for transportation, sales, and promotion. Have you considered these costs?"

"Hehe, for transportation, I have spatial scrolls. As for promotion, I think that with the effects of my products, it's completely unnecessary."

"As for sales... that is indeed unavoidable."

"How about this, I'll take a step back—an 80-20 split!"

Roland pondered for a long time, then asked, "How much stock can you provide?"

Draco gave a mysterious smile. "Trade secret!"

"But it's definitely not a small amount."

Roland fell silent for a long while before finally saying slowly,

"Deal!"

"Pleasure doing business with you!"

Bug Sister is coming out soon!
