Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Oh No, She's Coming for Me

"This..." The Administrator, who had rushed over after receiving the emergency call, looked troubled.

Naer timidly hid behind Arthur, poking half of her small head out to peek at him fearfully.

Being feared by such a cute little girl broke the Administrator's heart. He chuckled awkwardly and said, "Little boy, is this girl really lost? She isn't your sister, is she?"

"Don't joke like that."

"Don't be afraid, Naer. This uncle is a good person." Arthur pulled Naer in front of him. "The Administrator uncle will help you find your home."

"No... I don't want to." Naer tightly gripped the corner of Arthur's clothes with her hand, her fingers turning white from the strain.

Arthur couldn't help but cover his face.

Seriously, girl, have you been hexed or something?

This is only the first time we've met. Why are you so clingy?

Left with no choice, Arthur accompanied Naer to the Police Station. After cooperating with the Administrator's investigation, he took advantage of a moment when Naer let her guard down and decisively slipped away.

He left behind a heartbroken little girl, weeping in the Police Station as if she had just experienced a breakup right after falling in love.

This sent the group of Administrators into a panic, their clumsy attempts at comfort proving useless. The girl just kept crying and shaking her head... "Heh, trying to scheme against me? No way!"

Why Naer came to East Sea City, why she happened to be rescued by him, and why she was clinging to him...

None of that mattered anymore.

Arthur felt secretly smug.

"Whatever the reason, I'll just stay away from her."

Everything was peaceful for the next few days.

Arthur followed Mu Chen to learn smithing and teased Mu Xi in passing.

After forging, he would Cultivate Soul Power instead of resting.

After resting, he immediately followed up with Agravaine's special training.

The days passed one by one until school started.

Donghai Elementary Academy welcomed a Demon Child.

Arthur, who looked like a child on the outside but had the mind of an adult, was like a Demon Child descending upon a group of kids.

Walking into the campus, Arthur familiarized himself with the environment before heading to his class.

Donghai Elementary Academy was divided into ordinary classes and Spirit Master classes. The only difference between the children in the two types of classes was whether they possessed Soul Power.

The Spirit Master classes had better educational resources than the ordinary classes and would also teach Spirit Master knowledge.

Naturally, Arthur entered the Spirit Master Class. There were thirty freshmen in his class.

As soon as he walked into the classroom, he saw the freshmen in a chaotic mess, chirping away as they asked each other about their Martial Souls and Soul Power.

This familiar noise made Arthur feel as if he had returned to his student days in his past life.

He randomly chose a seat in the back row by the window. It really was a random choice.

Someone eagerly approached him; it was a little Fatty.

"Hey, what's your Martial Soul?"

"Holy Sword."

"Wow..." The little Fatty was impressed without fully understanding. He continued to ask, "Then what Rank is your Soul Power?"

Arthur spoke the truth.

"Rank 14."

*Hiss!*

The nearby students who heard this all turned their heads at once, gasping in surprise.

"You're bragging!"

The little Fatty didn't believe him at all.

"Innate full spirit power is only Rank 10. How could you possibly be Rank 14!"

Arthur stopped talking; there was nothing to argue about with a group of children.

"Hmph, if you don't want to say it, then don't. Why brag?"

The Fatty walked away. He saw another new student entering the classroom and rushed forward to perform his routine. "Hey, what's your Martial Soul?"

"Gold... Golden Dragon." It was a soft, delicate, and timid voice.

But to Arthur's ears, it sounded like a clap of thunder!

He whipped his head around, his eyes wide, and his breath hitched for a moment.

At the source of the voice, what came into view was none other than Naer.

"Gold-Golden Dragon? What a strange name." The little Fatty asked again, "Then what Rank is your Soul Power?"

Naer didn't answer because she saw Arthur and hurriedly ran over in joy.

She didn't say anything either, just stood there like a bodyguard with her head down, her hands twining together as her index fingers traced circles.

She really is coming for me, isn't she?

Rubbing his temples with a headache, Arthur let out a long sigh. "Don't just stand there. Sit behind me."

Hearing this, Naer's purple eyes lit up. She claimed the desk behind Arthur and sat on the stool, her little legs dangling in the air and swinging happily back and forth.

"What exactly do you like about me?" Arthur began to probe.

"You... your body... smells very good." Perhaps because the question was too direct, Naer's face flushed red. "It feels very familiar."

"Smells very good?"

Countless images flashed through his mind as Arthur pondered what was different about himself that would make this little Silver Dragon think he smelled good.

The only thing unique about him was his Martial Soul.

First, he tried to activate the Holy Sword.

"Is it this?"

"Huh?" Naer's small face was full of confusion; she didn't understand.

Seeing this, Arthur activated the Holy Spear.

This time, Naer couldn't help but lean her head forward, getting close to Arthur, nearly taking an epic deep breath of him.

"Holy Spear Rhongomyniad?" Arthur's thoughts wandered. The only connection between the Holy Spear and the Silver Dragon King was likely the elements.

He remembered that the Silver Dragon King controlled elements, and the Holy Spear had condensed a spirit ring on its own, granting him Wind Element Control.

Was that the reason? He wasn't sure.

Snapping back to reality, he glanced at Naer, who had closed her eyes and had an intoxicated expression as she leaned close.

Arthur withdrew the aura of the Holy Spear and covered Naer's face with one hand, pushing her away just as she was about to press against him.

Naer was forced to lean back, but her hands still waved gently, trying to reach forward.

He probably understood now.

It was likely the attraction of the Holy Spear for Naer, combined with the suspension bridge effect from being rescued, that led Naer to fall in love with him at first sight.

"Sigh, God of Love. Sigh, Douluo Continent."

"You win."

She's only six years old!

And already dealing with all this lovey-dovey stuff.

The Naer before him was undoubtedly a real little girl after losing the Silver Dragon King's memories.

If it were the ten-thousand-year-old woman with her memories restored, he might barely accept it.

But a six-year-old child really wouldn't do.

He's not a lolicon!

During the subsequent idle time, Naer kept getting close, and Arthur kept pushing her away.

Getting close, pushing away, getting close, pushing away... and so it went until the teacher walked into the classroom.

"Hello everyone, I am your Homeroom Teacher, Homeroom Teacher."

After writing her name on the blackboard, Homeroom Teacher tried to make her voice sound as gentle as possible. Two extraordinary children had joined this year's class.

"For the next three years, I will be the one teaching you the basic knowledge of Spirit Masters."

"Now, please introduce yourselves. State your name, Martial Soul, and Innate Soul Power."

With thirty people in the class, the introductions went quickly—or rather, faster and faster. Each student's introduction was a bit quicker than the last. It was some inexplicable competition that had started with a student somewhere down the line.

Homeroom Teacher didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Soon it was Arthur's turn. He wasn't that bored and introduced himself at a normal pace: "Arthur, Martial Souls are the Excalibur and the Spear that Shines at the End of the Era, Innate Soul Power Rank 10."

Well, actually, the names were just too long; he really couldn't go fast.

The class went into an uproar.

Those Martial Soul names were too cool, and the Innate Soul Power of Rank 10 was also astonishing.

The Fatty curled his lip. He knew it was bragging; how could it be Rank 14? In front of the teacher, he finally told the truth.

He had no idea about the difference between Soul Power Rank and Innate full spirit power.

It was almost Naer's turn.

Under the gaze of the whole class, she stood up fearfully.

She didn't dare look up, her eyes constantly darting toward the floor, her hands clutching and twisting the corner of her clothes.
