Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Likes Being Scolded?

"You want to ask me why I did that, right?" Arthur quickly figured out the reason and explained, "I just thought it would be interesting to do it that way."

He did it because he thought it would be fun; it wouldn't hurt anyone anyway. It was the same with the role-playing games he used to play with Na'er. One was willing to hit and the other was willing to be hit, and it also helped train Na'er out of her introversion.

"Is that so?" Gu Yue nodded, completely misunderstanding his meaning. She added another note to her observation diary on Arthur: Likes being scolded.

Hmm, I'll look up how to win over someone like this as soon as I get back.

The Academy Head on the stage was somewhat relieved to see Arthur being stopped by Gu Yue. Gu Yue is such a sensible, good child... After the temporary assembly ended, the few who had been selected for Class Zero came to the Academy Head's office.

"Sign this agreement."

Yu Zhen flicked his wrist and took out several agreements to distribute among the five of them.

The group was stunned, so Yu Zhen explained, "Class Zero will provide you with all available resources. This agreement is to ensure that you can study here consistently. Sign it."

After chatting with them for a bit and explaining further, Yu Zhen suddenly remembered something.

"Oh, right, Arthur doesn't need to sign."

Hearing this, everyone looked at Arthur in unison, their expressions strange.

They had originally thought Arthur was joking earlier, but looking at it now, could there really be some inside story?

"What are you looking at?" Arthur held his head high and said proudly, "Haven't you ever seen a second-generation power-holder? That's just how it is when you have connections in the family."

The most precious and useful resource East Sea Academy invested in Class Zero was the Spirit Ascension Platform. And the slots for the Spirit Ascension Platform were provided by the East Sea Spirit Pagoda.

Even if Arthur had no interest in Class Zero, the Academy Head would have to beg him to join. It was a matter of attitude.

After a moment of hesitation, Wei Xiaofeng chose to withdraw; his family had other arrangements.

With Wei Xiaofeng's departure, the roster for Class Zero was finalized.

Yu Zhen's stern expression instantly melted away, replaced by a gentle smile.

This speed of changing faces left several of them dumbfounded.

"Now that you've signed the agreement, you are the core elite of the academy."

Yu Zhen's tone was confident. "We respect Wei Xiaofeng's choice, but he will surely regret it in the future. Although East Sea Academy isn't ranked high on the continent, it is the only Intermediate Soul Master Academy in this great city. With all our resources concentrated on you, even Shrek Academy might not necessarily be stronger than us."

These words put everyone in a great mood. Just as they were about to celebrate, a voice cut in.

Arthur was an informed and honest child. He retorted, "Are you bullshitting me?"

Wu Zhangkong, standing by the side, cast an approving glance; Arthur had voiced exactly what he was thinking.

Yu Zhen's expression didn't change, and he remained smiling as if he hadn't heard a thing. "Alright, children. Let's leave it at that. Get ready to welcome your new life in Class Zero."

...After the First Year Class Zero was established, the classroom was changed to a separate, spacious room.

The dormitories were also adjusted from four-person rooms to single rooms, with the same specifications as the faculty dorms. Their living quarters were adjacent to each other, totaling seven people including the class teacher, Wu Zhangkong.

Wu Zhangkong was also assigned a faculty suite next to the dorms. The academy gave them a day to settle in, with classes officially starting the next day.

"Brother Art, the three of us are all right next to each other!" Zhang Yangzi happily put his arm around Arthur's shoulder. They had originally been in the same dorm, so it was expected that their assigned rooms would be adjacent.

The order of their rooms was Wang Jinxi, Arthur, Zhang Yangzi, Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Gu Yue.

Stare... The happy Zhang Yangzi suddenly felt a chill down his spine. Turning around, he saw Gu Yue staring intently at the room key in his hand.

Blinking, Zhang Yangzi looked at Gu Yue and then glanced at Arthur. He seemed to understand something.

"Oh!" Zhang Yangzi slapped his forehead and asked Gu Yue, "Gu Yue, can I swap with you? Your room is in the best position for ventilation, and I prefer that."

"Of course." Gu Yue's indifferent expression vanished; her face changed faster than the Academy Head's as she gave a sweet smile.

Watching this, Arthur just shook his head. It was just a few steps away; was it really necessary?

The next day, classes began in the new classroom.

Arthur's seating habit was like hard-coded logic; he still sat by the window. Gu Yue was like a bot, sitting in front of him just as before and occasionally turning her head to show her profile.

He didn't know if it was because he had gotten used to seeing it, but Arthur felt that Gu Yue's profile looked even better now.

At that moment, Wu Zhangkong walked into the classroom and began the lesson. "Since you've entered Class Zero, the curriculum will undergo some adjustments compared to before."

"Since you just finished your matches yesterday and your bodies still need time to recover, today we will have a theory class. Let's start with Mechas."

Mechas?

Everyone's spirits lifted.

Even Arthur perked up. He liked both Battle Armor and Mechas.

One was a suit of armor integration, and the other was summoning a Mecha.

Was there anything cooler than that?

Not to mention that both provided massive boosts to Soul Masters. Even if they were completely useless and just for show, Arthur would still be happy to get a set.

Especially wearing Battle Armor and then summoning a giant Mecha.

Never mind whether it was logical or useful.

Just tell me, isn't it cool?

Amidst his thoughts, Arthur suddenly remembered that Mu Ye seemed to have ideas about researching the combination of Battle Armor and Mechas.

Looking at it from all angles, taking him as a Master was the right choice. Having a Master who was a kindred spirit was just perfect.

"In this class, we will only cover some basic understanding of Mechas. We won't go deep, and there isn't much to the lesson."

Wu Zhangkong explained some basic knowledge, from the origins of Mechas to their development and then to the present day.

"Next, we'll talk about something else." Wu Zhangkong paused. "Battle Armor."

"Battle Armor?" A few of the six were hearing about Battle Armor for the first time.

After explaining the concept of Battle Armor and its strength boosts that far surpassed Mechas, Wu Zhangkong continued, "The goal I've set for you is to become powerful Battle Armor Masters!"

"You all have the talent for it."

"And if you want to become a powerful Battle Armor Master, you need to choose your own Second Profession."

"A top-tier Battle Armor Master needs to have a high degree of compatibility with their Battle Armor. To achieve this, you must either design, manufacture, or repair it yourself; otherwise, it's hard to reach the Peak. The goal of Class Zero is to help you become truly strong, and I am here to help you avoid detours."

Having said that, Wu Zhangkong answered the questions of the students one by one.

He finally gave a deadline: "You must choose before your third year; the earlier you start, the better. You can also consider Blacksmithing. Tang Wulin chose this path. The most important thing for top-tier Battle Armor is Blacksmithing techniques. Furthermore, a high-level Second Profession will make it easier for you to obtain cultivation resources in the future."

Wu Zhangkong didn't know that Arthur was also a Blacksmith; after all, he had never shown it.

"Teacher, when will we be able to see real Battle Armor?" Tang Wulin asked curiously.

"You'll be able to see it once one of you completes the first stage of Actual Combat practice," Wu Zhangkong said, dangling a carrot.

He paused for a moment and turned to ask Arthur, "Arthur, on the other hand, can see it right now. Do you want to take a look?"

In Wu Zhangkong's heart, Arthur was different from the others after all. He had never treated him as just a student.

Before Arthur could respond, Gu Yue frowned first.

"No thanks, Teacher." Arthur waved his hand in refusal. As for Battle Armor, he had already seen it with his own eyes, and it was Agravaine's three-word battle armor at that.
