Chapter 104 - Duan Yiheng is still waiting for me.

Lin Xi drove out of the company gate and had just made a U-turn when a Porsche blocked her way.

She recognized Zhang Mo's car, rolled down the window, and said coldly, "You can't park here." Zhang Mo replied, "I need to talk to you." Lin Xi glanced at her watch, thinking that Duan Yiheng was still waiting for her, and didn't want to get entangled with her any longer, so she said,

"There's a parking spot at the intersection ahead, just turn right. I'll only give you ten minutes." Zhang Mo quickly got into her car and reversed to let Lin Xi go first. After turning the corner, the two parked their cars. Zhang Mo slammed the car door shut in anger and immediately accused Lin Xi:

"What kind of love potion did you give Duan Mingxuan?" Lin Xi frowned: "Why do you always drag me into your affairs with him?" "Why do I have to be involved?"

Zhang Mo laughed angrily, "Because he's breaking up with me again for you. I've already done so much for him, but it's still not as good as you." Lin Xi cursed Duan Mingxuan in her mind:

"His decision to break up with you was his own, not mine. What's the point of you coming to me?" "So you can just ignore it?" Zhang Mo said, "Since you've decided to let go, why did you let him know about the past?

Weren't you just deliberately trying to make him feel sorry and guilty?" It was Chen Baiwei who suddenly let it slip to her; no one expected Duan Mingxuan to be right outside the door. Lin Xi said, "Accidents are uncontrollable. Duan Mingxuan and I are impossible. I've said all I need to say. I hope you won't bother me anymore." Zhang Mo grabbed her wrist: "Then just clearly reject him." Lin Xi didn't back down, shaking off her hand, and said, "I've already told him, even asked him to get along well with you. What more do you want?" "Aren't you living with Duan Yiheng now?" Zhang Mo said, "Stay away from Duan Mingxuan from now on." Lin Xi was speechless: "And who are you to say that to me? Duan Mingxuan and I can't be lovers, but we still have family ties. I can't possibly never see him again, can I? If you're so capable, then coax him into never seeing me again, and I can accept that."

After saying that, Lin Xi got into her car. She glanced at her watch, smiled, and realized she still had time. She picked up her phone and sent Duan Yiheng a voice message, saying she was already on her way. Suddenly! A loud crash shattered the street's tranquility. Lin Xi's car instantly lost control, veering straight onto the curb. It then slammed into the guardrail. Lin Xi felt a violent jolt, and in a dizzying spin, she was caught by the airbags.

Her car overturned. Through her distorted vision, a crowd surged towards her. Her hand trembled as she reached out, trying to grab her phone. But to no avail. A wave of intense dizziness washed over her, and she lost consciousness.

When she awoke, Lin Xi could only see a stark white ceiling and a blinding light. Duan Mingxuan rushed to Lin Xi's side, tightly gripping her hand: "Xiao Xi, you're awake?" His voice trembled with fear.

"I…" Lin Xi frowned. "I'm in the hospital?" Duan Mingxuan tightened his grip. "Your car overturned, thank goodness, it's just a concussion, not even a scratch." Lin Xi froze, grabbing his hand abruptly, asking, "What time is it?" Duan Mingxuan: "It's already nine o'clock." "What?" Lin Xi tried to get up, but felt another wave of dizziness. "What are you doing?" Duan Mingxuan snapped, "You already have a concussion, and you're getting up so suddenly." Lin Xi swallowed the nausea in her throat and asked Duan Mingxuan:

"Where's my phone?" Duan Mingxuan said, "It's broken." Lin Xi's face paled. "It's unusable? Can I borrow your phone for a moment?" "Who do you want to call?" Duan Mingxuan said, "I'll take you home now. I've already given you a full checkup. Your symptoms are typical and stable. You just need to rest at home; you don't need to be hospitalized." Lin Xi said, "Duan Yiheng is still waiting for me." Duan Mingxuan's heart sank. Jealous, he asked,

"Didn't you get off work?" Lin Xi said, "I had dinner plans tonight." Duan Mingxuan pushed her down onto the bed, saying, "It's just a meal, it doesn't matter whether we eat or not. I'll go get it for you, you just stay put." Lin Xi grabbed him:

"No rush, do you have any cash? Give me a hundred yuan." Duan Mingxuan was puzzled: "What do you need money for?" Lin Xi said, "My phone is broken, I want to buy something." "I'll buy it for you," Duan Mingxuan said, "What do you want to buy?"

Lin Xi lowered her head and didn't speak. Duan Mingxuan helplessly tossed her his wallet; coincidentally, he had lost money at the bar last night. Lin Xi took out a bill, paused, and said, "Never mind, you can buy it for me, I need a bottle of water and some food."

Duan Mingxuan didn't suspect anything, agreed, and turned to buy her food. Lin Xi got up and sat on the bed to calm herself down, clutching her broken phone and the hundred yuan, and left the hospital. She couldn't care less about anything else; she knew Duan Mingxuan wouldn't take her to find Duan Yiheng.

Zhang Mo wasn't at the hospital. Since Duan Mingxuan had come, it seemed he had already taken care of the matter of her being hit by Zhang Mo's car. Lin Xi left the hospital and randomly hailed a taxi on the street. She gave the driver the restaurant address and urged him to hurry several times.

Less than twenty minutes later, the driver dropped her off. Lin Xi was so anxious that she didn't take the change and rushed into the restaurant, only to be stopped by a waiter. "I'm looking for Mr. Duan in room A03; we have an appointment," Lin Xi said. "Please check with him for me."

"Please wait a moment." Lin Xi waited patiently, but the waiter bowed apologetically. "I'm sorry, Mr. Duan in room A03 left ten minutes ago." Lin Xi forced a "thank you" and said.

She wondered if he was angry, and Lin Xi felt a little annoyed. She was penniless now; how was she going to get back? Lin Xi glanced at the hurried passersby and considered borrowing a phone. But as soon as she approached, wary people avoided her, fearing she was a scammer.

Some even turned to take pictures of her with their phones. Lin Xi shielded her face, deeply regretting not asking the driver for change. She tried several times, but passersby remained skeptical. Lin Xi gave up and turned to the side of the road.

A yellow Ferrari passed her, then suddenly stopped and reversed in front of her. Lin Xi instinctively took a step back, looking at the person in front of her, confused. "Are you Lin Xi?" Lin Xi looked at him defensively. "Who are you?"

"Damn, Duan Mingxuan has been looking for you like crazy," the man said. "The club's entire supercar fleet was mobilized just to find you." Lin Xi quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, tell him I'm fine and will be back right away."

"No way, I've already found you, I have to take you to him. Get in the car." While Lin Xi was still hesitating, a beam of headlights swept over the two of them. Duan Yiheng pushed open the car door and strode towards Lin Xi. Lin Xi was overjoyed: "You didn't leave?"

Duan Yiheng nervously touched her face: "Why did you run away with a concussion?" Lin Xi's nose stung with tears: "I was just worried you'd be waiting."
