Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

(The storyline and timeline differ slightly from the original work, so please don't get too caught up in comparisons.)

"Next, I'll explain the fundamentals of spiritual techniques," Iruka said from the podium, his voice steady as he continued the lecture. "I've already covered the Three Body Technique, so now we'll move on to the theory behind summoning and spiritual contracts. Pay attention—this is important knowledge."

Ito Akira rested his chin on his hand and stared toward the front of the classroom, listening to Iruka's explanation while letting his thoughts drift.

Over the years, he'd grown completely accustomed to this world.

The world of Naruto.

Back then, all he'd done was agree to meet someone after school—nothing dramatic, nothing heroic—and somehow, inexplicably, he'd woken up here instead.

He'd helped someone. That was all.

A girl with a gambling father, a chronically ill mother, and a younger brother far too mature for his age. If he hadn't stepped in, who would have?

And somehow, that single choice had landed him a second life—reborn into the Hidden Leaf Village.

At first, Akira had been certain he was doomed.

Reincarnation stories always went the same way, didn't they? Dead parents. Miserable childhood. Untapped power sealed away. Bullied by the world until one day—boom—the protagonist awakens, destiny bends, and everyone who looked down on him regrets it.

But reality had turned out very differently.

His parents were alive. His family was stable. And while the Ito clan wasn't one of Konoha's great noble families, they weren't insignificant either.

His father, Ito Aoyama, was a fully fledged jōnin—and not just any jōnin, but the acting head of the clan. His grandfather, Ito Taiga, had also once held the same rank, though age had long since pushed him into retirement.

Between them, the Ito clan had more than a dozen chūnin. They weren't powerful enough to influence village politics, but they were respected—and more importantly, secure.

Akira had been born into privilege.

No tragic backstory. No divine sacrifice. No mysterious system bestowing rewards or quests.

If there had ever been one, it had remained silent for his entire life.

So Akira grew the normal way—step by step.

The Ito clan didn't possess secret techniques like the Nara, Yamanaka, or Akimichi families. No bloodline limits. No hidden manuals passed down for generations.

But under the strict guidance of his father and grandfather, Akira had learned chakra control early, mastered the Transformation Technique and Body Flicker, and handled ninja tools with a level of proficiency that set him apart from most of his classmates.

By Academy standards, he was a prodigy.

In fact, across the entire class, only Uchiha Sasuke outshone him.

And that alone said enough.

Sasuke—aloof, brilliant, and untouchable—acknowledged Akira as barely worth noticing. Which, in Sasuke's eyes, meant Akira was at least human. Everyone else didn't even qualify.

Akira shifted slightly in his seat, his attention snapping back as Iruka elaborated on the theoretical structure of summoning seals.

The concept fascinated him.

The Ito clan didn't have a contracted summon, but Akira had already been thinking about the future. One day, he'd form a summoning contract of his own.

Power mattered—but style mattered too.

If he was going to summon something, it had to be impressive. Something unforgettable. Something that looked cool even standing still.

After all, he already knew how the world was going to turn out.

No shortcuts? Fine. He'd survive anyway. Worst case, he could just let Naruto handle saving the world.

During his years at the Academy, Akira had gotten along well with Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and most of their peers. Being from a modest clan had made integration easy.

Still, there was one thing he hadn't expected.

Yamanaka Ino.

In the original timeline, she'd spent years chasing Sasuke. But in this version of events, her attention kept drifting somewhere else—specifically, toward Akira.

Every time their eyes met, she lit up.

Akira didn't blame her.

Between his build, his looks, and his calm confidence, even Sasuke fell just short by comparison. That might've been the real reason Sasuke acknowledged him at all.

As Iruka continued explaining summoning seal formulas, Akira absentmindedly traced the patterns in his notebook.

So it's like this… then this… and finally—

BANG!

A violent burst of white smoke exploded in the middle of the classroom.

When it cleared, Akira's seat was empty.

For a split second, the entire room froze.

Iruka stared, mouth slightly open.

"A-Akira…?" he muttered.

A student—gone. Vanished without warning.

Sasuke's hand was already wrapped around a kunai, his Sharingan not yet activated but his posture tense.

Akimichi Chōji dropped his bag of chips, the contents scattering across the floor.

"Where did Ito Akira go?!" Ino gasped, eyes wide.

Chaos erupted.

Shikamaru rubbed the back of his head, squinting at the spot where Akira had been sitting."…This is troublesome."

Naruto jerked awake, drool still clinging to the corner of his mouth."Huh? What happened?"

Iruka finally snapped out of it.

Summoning theory. White smoke. Instant disappearance.

His heart skipped.

Did he just—?

Iruka swallowed hard.

"There's precedent for this," he muttered under his breath, thinking of certain infamous jōnin who had once summoned themselves away by accident.

Was it possible…?

He turned sharply.

"Haruno Sakura!"

"I'm here, Iruka-sensei!" Sakura stood up immediately.

"Keep the class calm. Everyone, stay seated. Do not panic." His voice was firm now. "I'm going to the Hokage Tower."

"Yes, sensei!"

With that, Iruka was already running.
