"Woah woah slow down there lady. If you are recruiting me, why the heck are you pointing that thing to me?" Gran ask as Gina embarrassingly lower the spear and she explains. "Well Valkyries are all female group of Adventurers made to show how us women can compete with you men.
The Guild is actually asking for us to look upon the new program they are offering, the mentorship program, where we need to recruit lower rank adventurers to form a mentorship with so the knowledge that you'll be getting will lessen the chance of you getting killed on the quest." Gina explain as Gran is carressing his chin.
"Okay then, it means you choose me for the mentorship program then?" Gran guess as it is too obvious that Gina just grumps out her face. Gina nods as the Exorcist just want to go with the flow. "Alright, you know I'm not the kind of guy that joins people just because. Do you offer me some kind of reward than experience?" Gran ask Gina becomes redder and redder as she somehow guess what this man implies.
"You... I thought you are a decent man!
Nevermind! You can go now!" Gina screams out in embarrassment as Gran just want to share what he really meant. "Okay it looks like you're misunderstanding my words beautiful lady. I plan to ask that we can split the reward 50/50, but if i manage to get a valuable loot, you can have the quest reward to yourself."
As Gran propose that Gina's face shows a weird expression, even she couldn't understand why Gran would let go of the quest reward when loots in this kind of program are only gonna give him scraps and a possibly little trinkets. "You know, we aren't hitting any large or known dungeon in Helios right? You can speak like that if you'll be going at the Kingdom's border or near the Western Rainforest, where the A rank Adventurer test do happen." Gina ask as she do want to know why Gran said that.
"Well, you know... Pfft, you might struck big or something." Gran explains which confuse her more. He doesn't want to explain this, but what he is looking for is a trinket or an Item that can hold his Flow or get attune with it.
"I learn this technique from my Master but I didn't apply it before as such item is very rare on Earth. If you can imbue the Flow in an object, you can simplify the calculations of your technique, thus extending the duration of your brain juice. No way I can explain this to somebody who doesn't have a grasp on what Dimensional Flow is." This is what Gran is thinking as he is seeing that the Dimensional Flow in this world is something different than that of Earth.
"When we will start this Mentorship Program? I'll be counting on you... Er, what do you want me to call you?" Gran ask while he is bowing his head and she looks at him baffled by just leaving it at that for now. "Let's meet at the Adventurer's Guild tomorrow morning. Hope I'm not hitting on a weird one." Gina said as Gran shrug it off but he felt that anything's not conclusive still.
"I'm not leaving if you didn't let the others back down though." As Gran said that his tone shifts. He have seen the scuttling shadows above the rooftops since earlier and he doesn't want to go with an unnecessary encounter. Gina sigh and laugh as she call of the other Valkyries that are spotting the two of them from above.
"I'm sorry about them Gran, for some reason one of Valkyries are saying I am a weirdo magnet lately, that's why they are so uptight." Gina explain and this amuse the Exorcist. "Somehow I like you even more Gina. Not everyone speaks any reasons about things. I'd like to pay the favor tomorrow why that's the deal okay? Good eve."
As Gran leaves with his back facing the leader of the Valkyries and audibly yawning, Gina is blushing non stop and her fellow Adventurers jump down to join her.
"Are you sure about him Captain? I'm not sold to his character yet." One of the pink haired eye bang covering Valkyrie state to her leader. "That's too strange elder sister, that guy doesn't have any mana signature. I try to detect his mana capacity, but he doesn't have one." One of the cute green haired Valkyrie share to Gina.
"Well I see him accomplish that ridiculous triquest in just an afternoon. Better to keep tabs with him." Gina said and she hid her spear in a pillar of light from her hand.
The next day...
Gran wakes up from his bedding, which he can't judge since he is basically freeloading with minimal work that he is doing. He help Arturo and Martha carry the fruit crates again in the wagon as Arturo ask if he is going to the Adventurer's Guild again. "Well yes, I have joined a Mentorship Program yesterday and the Mentor is one hell of a babe. Hope to be close with such sexy mid riff lady." Gran share while he is grinning ear to ear. Arturo is just laughing with him while Martha wants to warn him.
"Gran be careful. Play with a woman's heart and you'll be burned before you know it. I hope it'll be an ordinary day for you." Martha said to the Exorcist, but Gran just remember his life in the past, how he isn't too happy when he is remembering it. "Thanks for that Martha, nothing has been ordinary for me though." As he say that he left the front door to carry the wagon and Arturo in it.
"Well, well! I've never been so early here before. Thanks young one." Arturo thanked the Exorcist as he disembark the crates and help the old man to set up his shop. As soon as Gran put down the last crate as he bid farewell to the old man as he goes to the Adventurer's Guild building. Before he enters a voice calls to him.
"Hey Gran! Looks like you are moving to the world now huh." As Gran looks to his right, he sees a woman clad in heavy armor. "Sylvia! Thank you for sharing this to me yesterday. I do manage to become a D rank adventurer in no time." Gran answers as the Holy Knight approach him.
"Do you have sometime or are you busy? I heard some rumors that you did all of the promotional stuff in just one evening. That means..." As Sylvia wants to continue the conversation Gran put his finger to silence her and ask her to not press the matter further. "What why?" Sylvia ask as Gran drag her at the side of the road to silently explain the situation.
"The guys at the guild totally hates me for that. I didn't know a bet happen when I left to finish thise three quests, and almost all of them bet for me to finish this in a day or two. They didn't know what hit them." Gran explains and Sylvia understands the situation now.
"Why do they hold it against you though? If they all bet on you finishing the quest today then wouldn't all of their money returning to them as well?" Sylvia ask as Gran's face shown an expression that he couldn't believe that this Holy Knight doesn't get the "almost" part.
"I did say that almost all of Adventurers bet that I would lose, but there is only one who bet that I will finish it within that afternoon." Gran say as he notice that his mentor entering the establishment. "Speaking of which, are you familiar with the Valkyries?"
As soon as Gran ask that question Sylvia almost smack him as he grab his head as she's gonna be saying too important.
"I'd like to inform you to stay away from those vultures! They're gonna rip you out of your purse." Sylvia answers as Gran focus on her bosom but he doesn't want to look at it straight in her eyes. Gran then pulls out a bit and ask why. "Well their leader, Gina, is known as a hustler who causes too many fights in the Guild. That's the reason why we're having piles and piles of complaints coming from her." Sylvia added as Gran's face just frowns as a shadow cover them.
"Well I'm sorry if I cause some unnecessary complains on your department Miss Holy Knight, but you know that those guys deserves it." A voice that Gran doesn't want to find out just seen them and standing there while keeping her hands on her hips. "Oh boy, please don't involve me in a cat fight... But if you'll be fighting for me that's a different matter."
"You really love feeling yourself didn't you?!" Sylvia retorts as Gran burst some laugh.
"Phrasing."
"Anyway you're getting late Mr. Gran. Hope you are ready because you are looking a bit... Lightly equipped." Gina points out to the Exorcist as he is just wearing his joggers and his gray jacket. He looks over his fit if he's missing anything. "Didn't see anything missing here Leader, I am ready to go if you like." Gran answer as Gina is continues to baffle her.
"Are you really an Adventurer or from this place? I didn't have met anybody so ill equipped such as you." Gina states as she facepalm and Gran approach her to just tap her in the shoulder. "I'll see you around Sylvia, and thanks for the tip. I'll try my best to not add more complaints." Gran bids farewell as he walk past Gina and asking her to come. "Yeah no... I'll come with you."

And several minutes later the three, Gran, Sylvia and Gina are in a carriage riding towards the dungeon where they meet several Adventurers happy and sad for some reason. "Tell me, is this the most novice friendly dungeon on Helios? I'm seeing a bunch of kids exiting." As Gran ask that the coachman stops the ride and the two veteran warriors disembark. As Gran gets off, he notice the Flow in this place is somehow erratic.
"Oh? Is there an anomaly inside?" Gran ask again, but his questions fall on deaf ears as the two women he is with are still fighting quietly. "Like I say, get me out if you're cat fight already." Gran mutter under his breath as he walks past them and pay the coachman the meager fare.
"Alright, time to have a little workout." Gran enters the dungeon while the two warriors are now fighting with words. "I hope you realize that you are the problem since the days at the royal barracks Gina." Sylvia says while she's holding the handle of her golden sword as she prepares if that provoke the leader of the Valkyries.
"Oh shut up you stuck up in your ass woman! You're just in that position because you tried to chasedown that Sword Saint that you are raving about, and guess what? He chose the Princess! Hah!" Gina answers as she cast out a pillar of light and her spear appears.
Gran cover his ears while walking through the dimly lit dungeon while he is wondering how the heck this place has tiles and nice interior if he squint his vision enough. As the trio walk through several lit torches the Exorcist stop as he hears the growling and voices of monsters from beyond the light illuminating the way. "Hey, it looks like party's here, care to teach me how you fight?"
Gina and Sylvia draws their main weaponry and they lunges at the monsters, which are a bunch of Skeletons, Slime and Goblins. As the Skeletons tries to slash the veteran warriors, but they just parry and answer the attack swiftly and eradicate the monsters in no time. Gran just stands there to witness how strong they are. Gran then feels a creeping presence in his back.
The lady warriors see an silhouette that covers the torches light. As Gran faces the said figure, it quickly smashes him and he jumps out of the way. The ground shakes as he happily lands and he dashes through to answer this. The dust have been swept away by his speed, and as he punch the body of this monster, it roars back to him. "Oho, looks like an orc or what."
An 11 foot of flesh and rancid odor assault Gran. Gran didn't let a single punch of his go unfollowed as he realizes that the monster is winding up to attack again. He follows up with a jump kick to the face, and as he quickly lands he give the monster a wicked kick. That kick send the monster crashing to the wall as the two lady warriors are amazed at Gran's strength.
"Where does that guy get all that power? And he's just a D Ranker?" Gina ask as a skeleton warrior tries to sneak and slice her up but she kick it out and stab it out with her spear. "Doesn't matter right? As long as the Guild have great prospects right?" Sylvia responds as she slice a goblin in half and decapitate another. Gran later seen three orcs approaching them from the dark, beyond the way on the Boss' Room in this dungeon.
"Everyone! I'm using my Finisher!" Gina informs the two as she wants to finish the orcs in one go. "Dang! Sounds like a game for me." Gran remarks as he goes upfront to defend Gina along with Sylvia, whose glowing golden energy are somehow making the orcs back off a little. "Well I'm ready to fire!" Gina commands and the orcs swing their gigantic clubs to the Exorcist.
"You lots have to really do this to me huh." Gran remarks as he show the orcs his left open palm open and their attacks didn't connect. The orcs growls and tries to smash Gran several times as his Barrier Technique protect himself and he looks at Sylvia jumping out of the way of Gina's Finisher.
The green lattice protecting Gran just disappear along the Exorcist himself, and when the orcs are trying to lift their clubs again, they notice that it become too heavy to lift.
"One thing my ability is to imbue objects with my Barrier Technique. Nothing special or anything new, but I can imbue three objects with my technique. I imbue a little Compreesion into them so they can't lift their weapons to block sexy babe's Finisher eh." Gran explains to himself while he is mid air as he jumped back stylishly earlier.
Gina prepares her spear and she's already poured enough mana into it. As Gran's shoe sounds his landing, she unleash the fury of her spear. It sears through the air like a rocket leaving, and it wreck the flesh of the orcs into ashes. No blood have spill on this attack as the spear's main ability is to incinerate everything on its path.
"GWAAAAAAR!!!"
"WOOHOO Yeah baby! That's what I'm talking about!" Gran exclaims as the spear hits the door to the Boss' Area. The Finisher left the dungeon hall alight with flames Gina imbue to her spear. The three walks through the dungeon as Gina retrieve her spear. "This spear, Arondight, is my precious. Be very familiar to how it sing Mr. Gran." Gina says as Gran taking the statement as an explanation and a warning.
"Okay you do you Leader. Well lets get into the boss' lair." Gran states as he open the Boss Room with a kick. As the three enters, a dark slime slithers and filling the room as it camouflaging itself with its environment. Gran just scratch his head as when he steps in a bunch of dark goo hardens and strikes the Exorcist. Gran just looks up and he tank the attack with his Barrier.
"I never asked this before but tell me, what is your main schtick? I'm not aware of your powers Gran." Sylvia ask as she looks at the man while the he is being attacked several times earlier. Gran just smile and he ask the two to just wait outside. He also ask one thing.
"Tell me, do you want me to end this the easy or the hard way?" As soon as he ask that he charge in and he prepares his Compression ability to end the fight. "Go with easy! We should end this fight now!" As Gina say that, Gran starts to engage one of his most devastating technique.
"You ladies familiar with Physics?" Gran ask as the dark goo from the Dark Slime continues to attack him with piercing goo and tentacle like whip. Gran just lifts up his hand and his Compression starts to suck up the monster. "No, what that's suppose to be?" Gina reply as Gran frowns. "I hope you study a little bit more stuff but oh well..."
After the Compression almost suck up the dark slime that the wicked force almost force the ladies to brace themselves, a sudden opposing force are going out of the Exorcist's palm.
"If you have such thing as sonic boom, a result of an object suddenly launching at the speed of sound, you'll create an explosion result of air suddenly filling out that particular space. Now tell me, what if you compress something in a single point and suddenly use an opposite force to try cancelling it out?"
As Gran explains this, a powerful explosion just rocks the whole dungeon, even destroying the ceiling, the structure above, and a bunch of land. Gran drop his hand and finish the explanation.
"This results to a Dimensional Boom."
The remains of the dark slime pours out like a rain but the ladies notice that they aren't being hit by its gooey carcass. Gran's Barrier is also protecting him from that as well, but as the Exorcist happily give the two a thumbs up, his nose bleeds as Slyvia and Gina points it out. "Well that's the cost of using such technique. I do need something to mitigate this." Gran states as Sylvia approach him to heal him.
The dungeon crawl is a success overwhelming so. As the three returns to the Adventurer's Guild, Gina offer one thing to Gran. "With that weird power and explanations of yours, you will be a great party member of Valkyries. Will you consider joining us?"
"Well first of I'm not woman enough to join your party Leader, but one thing is for sure. If you like to partner up with me again, you can call me out." Gran reply as he extend his hand for a handshake, which Gina accepts and after that Gran grumble about one thing.
"But good Lord, I didn't get any great item today. Next time can you less me to a more generous dungeon? I'd like to get my hands on a rare item like I said." Gran states as the Holy Knight invites him to an event. "You will be going right?" Sylvia ask as she looks eager to drag Gran to join her in something.
"Oh? Where do you want us to go?" Gran ask as Sylvia points into a poster near at an outpost.
The two look at it and it is an invitation for a Battle Arena. "Wait, do you want me to participate on that?" Gran ask as he expresses to the Holy Knight that she doesn't want to. Gina look at the poster as well and she happily agree to sign up. "I do want to see the strength of the Holy Knight myself."
As Gina say that Sylvia's mood sour down as well. The two are officially enter a true cat fight as Gran decides to join the two as he buys sweets to energize his brain. "Woah, that is some great sweet you got there! Can I have three of these." Gran grinning while he buy his snack on the way to the Arena, which can be found at the center of the city.
"So is this some kind of last event for the festival? I'm seeing some royal looking people up there." Gran ask as he points out the people at the balcony. Sylvia calls out his demeanor as she ask him to be respectful.
"That is the Royal Family currently attending to see if there are prospective warriors to recruit for the army." Sylvia explains as she and Gina sign a paper to participate in the tournament.
"Well good luck to the two of you!" Gran cheers as he walks to the bleachers to watch the upcoming matches. Gina and Sylvia didn't tell him, but they also want to see him how he performs in this arena as well, so they secretly add his name on the list. As he munching on his candies and sweets, the preliminary rounds for the tournament are being called out, but before he even sit down his name is called by the Announcer, which suprise the hell out of Gran.
"You people..."
