Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Transmigrating Comes with a Wife (Please Bookmark, Please Recommend)

Roy was deeply shocked by the peerless beauty of the elven girl before him, his mouth hanging open unconsciously.

So it turned out that the trash-tier author called "Otaku Perpetual Motion Machine" really hadn't lied to him. Transmigrate and receive a wife for free—a blonde, pointy-eared elf, perfectly matching all of his preferences.

The countryside was nothing compared to the world's center, Orario.

After spending more than ten years living in the countryside, Roy could count on one hand the number of elves he had seen. Ever since coming to Orario, it was like thoroughly washing his eyes—pure, natural, unpolluted beauties everywhere. No wonder people came here seeking encounters.

Wait—this person looks extremely familiar.

Ryuu Lion!

A Level 4 adventurer of the Astraea Familia, known as the "Gale."

Roy's breathing suddenly became rapid. The abrupt change startled the elven girl lying on the bed.

She snapped her eyes open. They were eyes like sky-blue gemstones, filled with complicated emotions—pain, sorrow, anger…

Bang!

The elven girl grabbed the fruit knife beside her and sprang up from the bed like a mother leopard. The bed frame creaked loudly. Roy wore an expression of utter despair.

Damn it—my brand-new Simmons bed!

One was Level 4, the other Level 1. There was no suspense at all. Roy couldn't even see her movements clearly.

A golden afterimage flashed before his eyes. Roy froze as the sharp fruit knife pressed against his throat, the silver blade emitting a chilling gleam.

In a way, this counted as getting kabedon'd.

A drop of cold sweat slid down Roy's forehead. His luck couldn't possibly be worse than the protagonists written by that trash author, right? Always risking their lives just to show off.

Ryuu's eyes shone with ferocity, killing intent filling her delicate face.

"Did the Rudra Familia send you to hunt me down?"

"I don't know any Rudra Familia."

Roy slowly raised both hands in a placating gesture.

"You slept in my bed and now you want to kill me? Is this how the Astraea Familia and elves do things?"

"This is your residence?"

Ryuu's gaze shifted toward the large bed.

As an elf with severe mysophobia, she would normally never sleep in someone else's bed.

But this place was truly indescribable.

Clean, orderly, and completely odorless. Even the sun-dried blankets were folded into perfect squares and placed neatly at the foot of the bed, releasing a faint fragrance. It was even more comfortable than her own bed.

It was hard to imagine that a tent set up beside the street could be cleaner than an elf's dwelling.

Although Roy called this place a doghouse, small as a sparrow it had everything it needed. The interior was unexpectedly well-organized—because, like Ryuu, he also had a strong cleanliness obsession.

"Sorry. I'll leave immediately."

Realizing she had acted rashly, Ryuu put away the fruit knife and dragged her exhausted body toward the exit. The injuries left by that monster had yet to heal.

As she passed Roy, he called out,

"Wait. You're just leaving like that?"

"Do you want compensation?"

Ryuu stopped. A miserable smile appeared on her face.

"But right now, I have nothing left. My familia, my friends, my justice—they're all gone."

"So that's how it is. The Astraea Familia was wiped out," Roy deliberately said in a low voice.

It must have happened within the past few days. He hadn't heard any news. After being in Orario for over half a month, he had already figured out the timeline.

Ten years ago, the Zeus Familia and Hera Familia failed to subjugate the Black Dragon. Both of the strongest familias were annihilated.

Two years ago, the dark god Erebus, in order to invigorate the dispirited Orario after the fall of its two strongest familias, launched the Great Feud. Playing the role of a dark villain, he opposed all of Orario's familias, tempering the new generation of adventurers and serving as a stepping stone for a new era.

And now—the Astraea Familia was annihilated.

Five years remained before Bell Cranel would arrive in Orario.

The words "the Astraea Familia was wiped out" struck Ryuu like a blade to her most sensitive nerve. If she hadn't just slept in the other party's bed and felt indebted, she would have already cut this man down.

There was no trace of the clarity an elf should possess in Ryuu's eyes. In its place was a darkness bordering on madness.

Roy spread his hands innocently.

It wasn't like he was the one who wiped out the Astraea Familia.

He had only arrived half a month ago…

But according to the original timeline, Ryuu would soon pursue revenge by any means necessary, nearly exterminating everyone connected to the incident.

And regardless of evidence, anyone rumored to be associated with the dark familias would become a target.

"Juggernaut—that's the name of the monster that attacked you in the Dungeon," Roy said softly.

Ryuu, who was about to leave, froze as if her feet were rooted to the ground. She turned her head stiffly, her sharp eyes locking onto Roy, completely different from before.

Dense killing intent almost materialized, like a sharp blade pressed against Roy's neck.

Even if this elven girl rushed forward and killed him in the next second, Roy wouldn't doubt it. But he had his own plans. A Level 4 fighter—if used properly—could help him grow quickly.

Roy said calmly,

"I have absolutely nothing to do with the dark familias. Go ask around and you'll know. I've only been in Orario for half a month. I live to help others, and I am irreconcilable with evil."

Distrust flickered in Ryuu's eyes. Her hand slowly moved toward the hilt of her sword, killing intent completely undisguised.

Roy coughed twice. Hard to fool. Maintaining a straight face, he said,

"If you kill me, you'll never learn the method to resurrect Alise Lovell and the others!"

Ryuu's pupils contracted slightly.

"What did you say?"

"It seems you're very interested in this topic. Put the knife down first."

Roy quietly changed into another pair of pants. In truth, he was already prepared to use the system to escape to an instance world—there was no way he would really gamble with his life.

Ryuu looked away. Shameless.

Roy continued,

"Let's make a deal. Three years from now, I'll tell you the information about the resurrection secret art. During that time, you help me kill some powerful monsters."

"Three years?"

Ryuu's gaze turned icy. She had no patience to wait that long.

"I can obtain the resurrection secret art right now."

The vast gap in strength made Ryuu feel that the other party had no right to negotiate with her.

Roy dropped his earlier friendly demeanor and said coldly,

"If you think you can do it, then go ahead and try. But you only get one chance."

Roy's overwhelming confidence left Ryuu momentarily confused.

Who exactly was the Level 4 here?

Just a mere Level 1 adventurer—where did this confidence come from?

The two sides remained locked in a psychological standoff.

"I do know about a resurrection secret art," Roy said, his tone softening,

"but with your strength and mine right now, it's completely impossible to obtain it. We'd only be throwing our lives away."

In many dungeon worlds, those who possessed resurrection secret arts were enemies far beyond what they could even think of challenging.

Ryuu's hand loosened from the sword hilt. She suppressed the urge to seize the information by force. She also didn't believe that the legendary "resurrection secret art" would be so easily obtained.
