When the trio saw Roy and Ryuu, they were startled. How did these two move without making a sound?

Caught talking about others, Armin hurriedly apologized. "I'm really sorry. We didn't mean to."

"It's fine, it's fine!"

At this point, the trio was only around ten years old. Roy was much taller than them. He placed his large hands on Eren's and Armin's heads, messing up their hair.

Eren struggled to push Roy away. "What are you doing? We don't have any money to give you!"

Roy smiled and turned to leave, saying, "Something bad is about to happen inside the walls. Hurry home. Stay with your family and run as far away as you can."

"What's with that guy?"

Watching the backs of Roy and Ryuu as they left, the three exchanged looks, an ominous feeling rising in their hearts.

Boom!

A few minutes later, accompanied by a thunderous roar that shook the sky, dazzling golden lightning descended from above and exploded outside the towering city wall.

It was as if a massive earthquake had struck. Everyone living within the walls could feel the violent tremors.

When people raised their heads and looked toward the source of the sound—

A bald, massive head appeared above the fifty-meter-tall wall, like a giant god from myth, its eyes gazing down at them like insignificant ants.

Ryuu's lips parted slightly. Judging by the height of the wall, this Titan was at least sixty meters tall—something rarely seen even in the Dungeon.

Boom!!

The Colossal Titan raised its foot high and kicked the gate in the wall. The gate shattered instantly, countless stone fragments flying outward and crashing into the city.

Continuous, deafening explosions rang out. Stone debris, wrapped in violent gusts of wind, rained down onto houses and streets. Many people died on the spot, while those lucky enough to survive collapsed to the ground in terror, unable to move.

"The outer gate of Shiganshina District has been breached!"

"The Titans are coming in—run!"

Panicked cries erupted throughout the interior of the walls as everyone fled in blind desperation.

Contrary to the fleeing crowds, two figures ran straight toward the breached gate, drawing many curious glances. Whose subordinates were they supposed to be…?

Roy and Ryuu pushed through the chaotic crowd and arrived at the very front of the shattered gate.

A large group of Pure Titans came into view—varying in size from three to fifteen meters. Without exception, their appearances were grotesque and ferocious.

Roy took a running start and leapt onto a rooftop. The main force in hunting Titans would be Ryuu; at most, he would deal with some three- or four-meter Titans.

Compared to the fleeing civilians, Ryuu, who was confronting them head-on, immediately drew the attention of the Pure Titans.

More than a dozen Titans surrounded the elf girl.

One Titan around twelve meters tall was the first to extend its massive hand, grabbing toward her. The hand blotted out the sky, its enormous shadow covering the surroundings.

"Too slow!"

Ryuu's sky-blue eyes reflected the Titan's hand. This speed wasn't even comparable to monsters from the middle floors of the Dungeon. Just as Roy had said, the Titans' only advantage was their size—the truly dangerous ones were the Abnormals.

Just as the Titan's hand was about to catch her, Ryuu flipped her body and lightly landed on the back of its hand. Her slender legs burst with power as she sprinted up along its arm.

In the blink of an eye, she moved like a gust of wind.

In theory, killing a Pure Titan required cutting the flesh at the back of its neck with two blades. But relying on strength far beyond that of ordinary people, the elf girl slashed the back of the Titan's neck with her wooden sword. The sharp edge severed the entire head.

Boom!

The massive head slammed into the ground.

Ryuu's graceful figure inverted in midair as her wooden sword swung rapidly, shredding the Titan's nape into countless pieces, completely killing it.

During the process, the blood that gushed out of the Pure Titan like a fountain inevitably splashed onto her, dyeing her body crimson.

The stench filled the air. For an elf with a strong sense of cleanliness, it was unbearable.

"Roy…"

The elf girl ground her teeth, attacking the Pure Titans with even greater ferocity, showing no mercy at all.

Seeing her expression darken like the bottom of a pot, Roy felt a chill run down his spine. He silently withdrew his gaze and forcibly shifted his attention back to the Titans.

Ryuu attracted most of the Pure Titans, but three or four still surrounded Roy, clinging to the walls of the houses, trying to climb up and grab him.

Roy locked his eyes onto a three-meter-class small Titan, his gaze burning with excitement. The dungeon quest rewarded 30–100 attribute points based on the Titan's physical capabilities.

In theory, to maximize gains, Ryuu should kill as many large Titans or Abnormals as possible.

Him killing three-meter-class Titans purely reduced the reward—but Roy didn't see it that way. He wanted to seize every opportunity to grow stronger. Fighting Titans would also increase his stats and give him combat experience.

Roy jumped down from the rooftop, landing on the shoulder of a three-meter Titan that was about to climb up.

Before it could react, Roy swung the Muramasa Sword. With a spinning slash, he cut across the back of its neck, the wound deep enough to expose bone.

Boom!

The small Titan crashed heavily to the ground, struggled briefly, then fell still as steam rose from its body.

[Successfully killed a 3.1-meter Titan. Gained 30 attribute points!]

In the middle of the battlefield, Roy didn't hesitate. With a wave of his hand, he poured all the points into Dexterity.

[Dexterity: 9 → 39 (I)]

A Titan around seven meters tall appeared behind Roy, bringing both hands together in an attempt to grab him.

Wind Treading!

With a thought, Roy activated the special effect of the Gale Boots. His Agility surged close to A-rank as he charged forward, performing a sliding maneuver and passing beneath the seven-meter Titan's crotch.

The Muramasa Sword, sharp enough to cut iron like mud, cleanly severed the Titan's right Achilles tendon. Its body immediately tilted and crashed into a house on the right.

Roy rushed forward and hacked the Titan's nape into a pile of mangled flesh. The foul-smelling blood sprayed all over him, and his face took on the same expression as Ryuu's.

Compared to Ryuu, he felt both disgusted and exhilarated at the same time.

[Successfully killed a 7.5-meter Titan. Gained 52 attribute points]

[Dexterity: 39 → 91 (I)]

[Strength: 18 → 25 (I)]

[Endurance: 36 → 38 (I)]

[Agility: 600 → 601 (C)]

Once again, Roy added the newly gained attribute points to Dexterity. His other stats also increased through combat, though not as dramatically as with direct allocation.

Using battle to sustain battle—each Titan he killed increased his abilities, and the subsequent fights allowed his body to rapidly adapt to the enhanced power.

Compared to his hard-fought struggle against two Pure Titans—

In the distance, Ryuu had already slain more than a dozen Titans, including several Abnormals. Corpses littered the ground.

Roy glanced over. Titans above ten meters were roughly LV.2, while Abnormals were LV.2 with specialization in a single attribute. Because of their slow movements and the weakness at the nape, LV.4 Ryuu slaughtered them with ease.

At that moment, Roy's pupils suddenly shrank. In the chaotic crowd, he spotted two familiar figures.

"Looks like I hit the jackpot this time!"
