Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: Defeating the Floor Boss (Please Subscribe)

Relying on its dragon scales to block Ryuu's attacks and the red mist to neutralize Roy's Burn the Heavens, Amphisbaina unleashed its azure flames without restraint.

Boom!

The merciless blue inferno swept across the cavern, engulfing Roy, Ryuu, Daphne, Cassandra—and even the large number of monsters Amphisbaina had summoned.

The entire cavern erupted into roaring flames.

Daphne and Cassandra curled up in a corner, using their Goliath-hide cloaks to withstand the azure fire.

The Goliath of the 17th Floor could not compare to Amphisbaina, of course—but in terms of defense alone, its hide was only slightly inferior to dragon scales.

Roy and Ryuu struggled to their feet. Their bodies were stained with inextinguishable blue flames that scorched their skin. Their conditions plummeted rapidly.

"Miss Ryuu, buy me twenty seconds!"

Roy tossed two panaceas toward her.

"…All right!"

Ryuu glanced at him in surprise. In a situation like this, did he still have a plan?

She caught the potions, drank them in one gulp, and charged at Amphisbaina again despite her battered body.

The dragon spewed vicious azure flames, forcing the heavily injured elf to evade desperately.

"Over here!"

Daphne burst from beneath her Goliath cloak and shouted loudly, drawing Amphisbaina's attention.

A mere Lv. 1 dared to provoke it?

The other dragon head crushed chunks of rock and spat the shattered debris toward Daphne.

"—Thor's Light!"

Cassandra sobbed as she continued chanting. Healing magic fell like rain upon the three of them. Her lips dried, her voice grew hoarse—until she could barely speak.

The battle grew increasingly desperate.

Under Ryuu and Daphne's life-risking cover, Roy gained a precious window of time and rapidly opened his dungeon panel.

The Silver Chest he had obtained after killing Muzan Kibutsuji.

Inside it—an Equipment Fusion Device.

He had hesitated for a long time about which two pieces of equipment to fuse.

Now, the answer was clear.

Even with Adventure activated and the Oni King Armor boosting his stats to the extreme, his Spirit Holy Sword's Burn the Heavens could only barely match Amphisbaina's azure flames.

The Spirit Holy Sword was already powerful—

But Roy would gamble everything and push it to its peak.

Spirit Holy Sword + Giant Slayer.

He summoned the fusion device. Space rippled as a massive furnace materialized before him.

From his spatial ring, he drew out Giant Slayer and tossed it into the furnace along with the Spirit Holy Sword.

Taking a breath, Roy pressed Activate.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

The furnace trembled violently.

Roy could only pray it wouldn't fail.

[Fusion Successful!]

Seconds later, the panel appeared before him.

Name: Spirit Holy Sword

Quality: Legendary

Description: A weapon forged by Celdia and the Flame Spirits using countless rare materials.

Special Effect (Giant Slayer): The larger the target, the greater the damage inflicted!

The quality remained Legendary. Fusing a high-grade weapon would not elevate it to divine status.

But Roy's eyes gleamed with exhilaration.

Four special effects.

This was not a simple addition—effects stacked upon one another.

When activating Burn the Heavens, the resulting flames would also benefit from Giant Slayer.

He had previously feared that fusing it might carry over Giant Slayer's drawback—reduced damage against smaller targets.

But the negative effect had been removed.

If he had known, he would have fused them earlier.

It had been a gamble.

But for now, he only needed overwhelming damage against a colossal enemy like Amphisbaina.

The fusion device vanished.

Roy drew the newly forged Spirit Holy Sword.

Its appearance had not changed.

But when its blade pointed at Amphisbaina, a razor-sharp gleam flickered along its edge.

"Now it's your turn."

The sword trembled faintly, as if responding.

Ride the Wind!

Roy activated the Gale Boots again. His Agility received an 80% boost, breaking past limits and reaching SSS rank.

Like a hurricane, he surged forward and shouted:

"Miss Ryuu—chant your magic!"

Ryuu, tiny compared to Amphisbaina, was locked in close combat.

Hearing Roy's voice, she parted her lips.

"Distant sky of the departed forest. Infinite stars set within the endless night—"

She poured all her strength into evading the azure flames, dashing across walls, slashing at scales with her wooden sword—all while chanting.

Annoyed beyond reason by the persistent "insect," Amphisbaina roared in fury, unleashing azure flames relentlessly.

Nearly all its attention focused on Ryuu.

It did not notice the danger racing toward it.

Whoosh!

Wind coiled around Roy's legs as he unleashed his full speed—no slower than a Lv. 4.

In barely two seconds, he crossed half the cavern.

He appeared before Amphisbaina and swung the Spirit Holy Sword down with all his might.

The blade's edge was unstoppable.

It struck the dragon's right head—

And sliced cleanly through the scales Amphisbaina took such pride in.

The sword bit deep into bone and flesh, carving a massive wound—nearly severing the entire head.

"GRAAAAH—!"

Amphisbaina shrieked in agony.

Its neck whipped violently, smashing Roy away.

He flew backward, crashing into the cavern wall and embedding himself into it. His organs rattled; blood gushed from his mouth.

"—Luminous Wind!"

Ryuu's hoarse voice rang out.

Dozens of emerald light spheres poured into Amphisbaina's massive wound.

Boom!!

The explosion tore through the injured neck.

One of Amphisbaina's heads was blown clean off and crashed to the ground.

Roy forced his broken body upright. His crimson eyes locked onto the dragon as he poured every last drop of his mind into the Spirit Holy Sword.

Burn the Heavens!

Scarlet flames took the shape of a dragon, roaring with a thunderous cry—the final requiem of this deadly battle—as they lunged toward Amphisbaina.

With its right head gone, Amphisbaina could no longer exhale the red mist to suppress magic.

Its dragon liver's special fuel had also been exhausted during its assault on Ryuu.

The crimson inferno engulfed its entire body.

Seven—eight full minutes passed.

Amid shrieks of despair and agony—

Amphisbaina turned to ash.

A magic stone nearly two meters in size fell to the ground.

Specks of light drifted throughout the cavern, like a brilliant star-filled night sky.

[Floor Boss Amphisbaina defeated.

Reward: 1500 Attribute Points, Silver Chest, Amphisbaina's Dragon Liver, Dragon Scales!]
