Chapter 4 - The Deadlock

The door to the secret room slammed shut. Adrian turned to see Sienna standing there, but the warmth was gone. She held a small, sleek pistol pointed at his chest.

"I didn't expect you to find this so soon, Adrian," she said, her voice trembling with a mix of hate and the remnants of the love they had shared. "I spent a decade planning how to tear your life down, brick by brick. Just like you did to my father."

The romance was now a battlefield.

"The feelings, Sienna... were they all a lie?" Adrian asked, taking a slow step toward her.

"The hardest part of the plan," she whispered, tears blurring her vision, "was realizing that the monster who killed my father is the only man who ever truly understood me."
