Chapter 1 - Ch1: I swear upon my Handsome Name!

In one of the cities of Huanglong, Jinzhou.

Various people can be seen going in and out of the city, as if it is the capital of the nation, Huanglong.

Merchants, researchers, soldiers, you name it.

The local people and the tourists are still living their lives as it is.

Bustling with people, the city is still full of harmony and vitality, as if the world does not have any issue as of now.

"Yangyang! Hurry up, we don't wanna miss Baizhi!"

A shout came from a red haired girl who is practically running towards the gate, beckoning the long haired girl to hurry up.

The black haired girl, Yangyang, just smiled lightly and shook her head at the antics of the energetic girl.

"Chixia, why the rush? It's not like Baizhi will just disappear out of nowhere." Yangyang lightly chuckled and continued.

"Besides, if you keep running like that, without looking properly at the front, you might trip you know?"

Chixia pouted at those words and snorted.

"Hmph! Yangyang, you don't understand!"

"Hmm?"

"It is my job as a patroller of Jinzhou's Public Security Bureau! Besides…"

She paused slightly and looked at Yangyang with a smug face as she puts her hands on her hips and said enthusiastically.

"This Jinzhou Speedster must do her job and defeat those bad TDs that has been roaming around the area with this fist of justice!"

Yangyang giggled slightly seeing her friend do light punches in the air to show her resolve.

"Yes, yes. Now let's go and find Baizhi."

Hearing the slightly dismissive tone of Yangyang, Chixia puffed up her cheeks.

"I'm telling the truth! I'll definitely defeat those bad TDs and save the citizens of Jinzhou!"

Yangyang just smiled and didn't say anymore.

As they were reaching the gate, they heard some middle aged men bickering to each other.

"That guy is definitely fraud!" One of the guys said with a huff.

"Are you sure? You haven't even seen him." The other guy retorted.

"So what? From what I heard, that guy claims to be a professional doctor, when he doesn't even have a clearance for that! Also…" The man paused for a moment and with a venomous tone, he spat out. "That guy even claim he can see the thread of fate and that he can also see a person's destiny? What is he? A divine priestess? Yeah, bullshit!"

The other guy became speechless for a moment. He looked at his friend with an uncomfortable look, as if he wants to punch this guy right onto his face.

As for the guy in the sidelines… His eyes just looked at the two with a weary expression and silently slapped his forehead. Lips twitching as he looked at the enraged guy.

Hesitating, he opened his mouth to speak when…

"Hello Sir Lin, Sir Yao, and Sir Ming!"

Ming, who was the bystander in the two guys' bickering moment, looked at Chixia with a gratified and relieved expression.

"Ohh, if it isn't little Chixia and Yangyang. Are you two perhaps going on a patrolling session?"

"We are accompanying Baizhi towards the Tacet Field near the Gorges of Spirit."

Yangyang answered slightly as she looked at the trio.

"By the way, what are you guys talking about? I'm very curious!"

Chixia chimed in, as she asked with a beaming smile on her lips.

The man who has been very angry just now, scoffed and said.

"Oh, it's nothing, we were just talking about that scammer of a fraud person. How dare he says he is a professional doctor? He is definitely just a quack!!"

The other guy, Yao, was also very angry, how dare he talk like that to that person!

Meanwhile, Ming who is on the sidelines was sweating bullets with each words of insults hurled at the said *Doctor*.

"Lin! Y-you shouldn't say that! W-what if they were to hear what you have been saying?"

"Yeah? So what? Doing divination when he isn't even a Priest or Priestess, much less a Sentinel Resonator, that guy is definitely a fraud! Not to mention, 20,000 shell credits for a wound? Bullshit! They are just scamming people!" Lin gave a sharp glare to Ming. Before saying those words.

'No! What the heck? Where did you even heard that!? It was clearly only 200 shell credits! Even less than a bowl of food!'

At the the same time, Yao thought of this, while also trying to surpress himself from slapping the dude.

So, he just decided to speak up.

"Cough! What are you even saying!?! It wasn't 20,000 shell credits! It was merely 200! Even less than-"

"Shut up! I heard it when I was walking along the road! Besides, why have you been trying to take his side… are you… *gasp*."

With a trembling hand, Lin pointed at Yao, his face practically screaming, "Why did you betray us!?".

"Brother! How could you!? Why have you become like this!? You weren't one to succumb to the evil of person, greed!"

"What!? I have never did that! It is all your misunderstanding!"

"Misunderstanding my fart! As if I could misunderstand such a simple thing! Clearly, you have betrayed our brotherhood! You have turned against the innocent people!"

"What?"

As the two where bickering, Yangyang, Chixia and Mr. Ming were speechless.

Mr. Ming was getting so much second hand embarrassment to the point he just want to find a trash can and hide in there.

How did this even turned into a drama?

"Uhm… should we stop them?"

Looking at the two person who has snarling at each other's throats as if they want to strangle each other, Yangyang suggested.

"Ahem! … Please do." Ming answer weakly, clearly still very embarrassed from his friends' action.

Guys… You two are already an adult… so why are you even acting like this!?

So embarrassing! To think these old bones of mine were gonna experience seeing his two old friends snarling at each other like lovers who had gone into a fight!

"On it!"

Chixia hurriedly tried to become a medium to the two guys who were fighting with each other.

While Chixia was trying to make the two stop, Yangyang asked about what they were clearly fighting over.

Ming answered honestly, just wanting to ends this embarrassing moment right now.

"Well… we are talking about that traveller who claims to be a divine doctor and a taoist master who has reached the peak of divinition."

"Hmm. I heard that from your… or rather, the other two's quarrel. But… I'm quite curious as of why they are even quarreling that much."

Yangyang voiced out her interest.

After all, a traveler claiming as such, a normal person would definitely thing he is just a scammer or bragging about it.

As for the cost for healing?

Although she didn't know how he heals people, it is definitely due to his Resonance Forte, right? So the cost for the healing, be it 20,000 credits or 200 credits… it sounds very unreasonable.

With how the market rate has been going on recently due to the Lament taking all over the region, 200 shell credits seems quite a take, it is literally free considering the market. It is like, there is a hidden consequence for this.

Meanwhile, 20,000 shell credits? You are basically reaping out the money from people!

You would rather want to buy a basic healing potion as it only costs 2,000~ shell credits.

So either way, they are indeed quite suspicious.

"Ahh… about that. It seems that the guy had saved his daughter, by him…" Mr. Ming seems to be hesitating before shrugging his shoulder, as if he gave up resisting. "By the way, there is something I haven't said to them… this is regarding the man they are talking about."

Yangyang's ears perked up.

As a member of the Outriders of the Midnight Rangers of Jinzhou, she believes information is necessary.

So with that, she decisively asked Mr. Ming with a serious tone and expression, contrasting her usual delicate features on her jade like face.

"Cough! Yes." Mr. Ming gave a light cough before proceeding. "Well… have you heard about the Grand Chancellor of the Emperor?"

Yangyang raised an eyebrow, not quite grasping why he suddenly asked about it, but still, she nodded before adding.

"I heard quite a lot of rumours regarding the Ground Chancellor. At a young age of ten, he already gained quite a high status, he already became the most trusted figure of the Secretary-General of the Central Secretariat, a key figure in the Central Secretariat." She paused slightly, she looked at the clouds with an admiring gaze, as if looking at an idol.

Then she continued. "Due to his keen insights at administration and politics as well as being a genius at philosophy and having considerable strength, specifically at Taoism… he had gained the sights of the Emperor and begun his training to become his most loyal servant, having power second only to the Emperor. To which, he had gotten it at the age of twelve and has been holding that power as the Grand Chancellor of Huanglong up until now, leading to a prosperous nation."

She had a gaze full of adoration, it complemented well with her tender features as she continued gazing at the sky.

Though, her eyes snapped back to reality, eyes full of bewilderment and confusion.

She thought for a moment.

She made several simulations on her mind, thinking of why Ming suddenly talked about the Grand Chancellor of Huanglong…

Unless…

A dawning horror, loomed across her milky white face.

Impossible!

She thought.

"T-tell me… It's just… It's nothing but a joke… right?" Yangyang voice were shaking, she couldn't believe it!

She was denying all of, thinking that… That person wouldn't become such a dubious person, right?

However, as expected. Contrary to her expectations, Ming hit her with the hardest blow.

"Sorry but, he had indeed abdicated his position, and that, according from the rumours I heard from the tourists from the Capital of Huanglong, Mingting, he got kicked out. So yeah, the Grand Chancellor of Huanglong, he is…

Unemployed."

Yangyang's brain short-circuited.

To think that… To think that her idol would became a quack! All because of…

UNEMPLOYMENT!!

...…

Around this time, in the the outskirts of Jinzhou, near the coastal area in the Gorges of Spirit.

[Ding! You have finished the task! Calculating rewards…]

The man's closed eyes opened, showing blue with purplish grey tint eyes, carrying unprecedented magnetic charm that highly complements his face.

His smirk grew wider and he started laughing maniacally, as his loose long black hair danced along the wind.

"Aha… Hahaha… HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

"With this… who cares if I'm unemployed? To hell with being employed! I'll embraced it with a huge smile plastered on my lips! As it is a Path! The truest Path of Existence!"

"Three hundred years in the east, three hundred years in the west, just because I am unemployed, doesn't mean I am penniless!"

"I, the Grand- no, the Ex-Grand Chancellor, shall make Sentinels and Threnodians alike bow down before me. I swear this upon my most handsome name!"

"All of the glory belongs to me… TAIGONG WANG!!"

With that, our MC, laughed as if he were an idiot, even scaring the Elite TDs that were approaching him…

...

Idk. Too little Gathering Wives fic in this platform, so this handsome me, felt a bit complied to create a new one.

Also, regarding, the Genshin one… with our old man… I'll continue it, just that… I was thinking of trying to rewrite it before the official designs of the Trio Goddesses, but… I got a lil disappointed so I even forgot to update it😆.
