The smell of burning meat filled the battlefield.

Yugito screamed as the pain ripped through her.
Inside her, the Two-Tails roared.
"Give me control—NOW!"
She didn't argue.
Control switched instantly.
The Two-Tails flung Alaric away with all its strength.
He spun through the air—
unhurt, untouched, grinning.
As he steadied himself mid-fall,
his glowing eyes dimmed slightly… but didn't turn off.
The Two-Tails snarled, smoke rising from its wounds.
"Damn human…"
Alaric landed lightly, dust puffing at his feet.
He cracked his neck.
"Cool," he said cheerfully.
"Laser eyes unlocked."
Then he looked up—
straight at the two fully transformed tailed beasts.
