Chapter 2 - Page 2

Meanwhile, Peter Parker, sitting in the back seat of the car, felt as if someone had delivered a hard punch to his head.

He didn't care at all about the casualties from the sudden incident; what kept replaying in his mind was a single thought: "A mysterious figure used webs to prevent a disaster."

Peter had no idea that while he was still planning how to gain Spider-Man's powers… someone else had already beaten him to it.

At this very moment, that person displayed incredible abilities, announcing Spider-Man's arrival to the entire world.

From today onward, there was no doubt that the name Spider-Man would echo throughout New York City—and even across the globe.

And none of it had anything to do with him, Peter Parker.

Peter felt like a wealthy heir about to inherit billions, only to discover at the last moment that he wasn't the real child. The enormous fortune he was about to inherit was gone in an instant, and… they could even be thrown out of the house, forced to beg on the streets.

Such a drastic shift was almost impossible for anyone to accept.Even though the Parker family had arrived at their destination, Peter couldn't fully come to terms with the shocking reality.

"Peter, we're here."

Uncle Ben had no idea how deeply Peter was struggling with despair. He parked in front of the farm, called Peter from the back seat, and opened the car door for him.

Still lost in hopelessness, Peter eventually calmed himself and got out with them. For a moment, he forgot that he couldn't become Spider-Man and instead gazed at the massive farm before him.Though it appeared somewhat barren, nearly a meter of overgrown weeds now covered what had once been flat land.

Yet, the farm had its own unique and beautiful charm.Whenever the breeze blew, waves of emerald grass rippled like the surface of a jade sea.

"Well, even if I can't be Spider-Man in the future, at least I could be a ranch owner."

Who wouldn't want to be the cool, heroic Spider-Man?

The Parker farm was the only inheritance left by his parents.

Peter recalled memories of the farm and felt a twinge of strangeness. He didn't remember seeing such a farm in any Spider-Man movie.

"It's been a whole year since I last came here. It's so barren now… looks like we'll have a busy few days ahead."

Looking at the overgrown farmland, Uncle Ben rubbed his increasingly stiff lower back.Aunt May rolled her eyes at Ben's complaints, then spoke to Peter:

"Peter, let's go inside."

Ben chuckled and shook his head, slowly walking into the farm.

"This farm is huge. Even in the suburbs, a piece of land this big must be worth a fortune. Who said Peter Parker is poor? He's going to be a farmer someday."

Only upon entering the farm did Peter realize its immense size.Walking from the front gate to the main house took quite some time.

Several simple wooden cabins dotted the farm.It had been a year since their last visit. The main house, cleaned a year ago, was now covered with a thick layer of dust.

Uncle Ben pointed to a small cabin in the distance. "Peter, you and I will handle the other rooms. You can clean up that storage shed. Okay?"

Peter didn't answer, heading straight toward the cabin.

"Ben, we could handle that ourselves. Why make Peter do it?"

Aunt May watched Peter leave, her eyes filled with affection.

Ben smiled. "May, he's grown up. It's time he learns to be independent like a man."

"In my eyes, he'll always be a child."

Meanwhile, Peter had reached the small storage shed. There wasn't much to complain about—it was just organizing old stuff. However, as he stepped inside and saw piles of useless items blanketed in dust, despair washed over him.

"Is this going to take the entire afternoon? I haven't even eaten lunch!"

He silently growled in his mind.In the end, he stayed quiet and began organizing the clutter.

Fortunately, Uncle Ben wasn't some cruel taskmaster. An hour later, he called Peter for lunch, made by Aunt May.

But after lunch, Peter had to return to the shed.He spent nearly the whole afternoon cleaning and organizing the warehouse.Sorting, categorizing, and clearing materials whose purpose was unclear.

Gradually, the messy shed became tidy and orderly. As he worked, memories of the farm returned, including memories of the storage shed.He remembered that his parents had warned him never to come here as a child. Now, he wondered if the place held some hidden secret.

"Could there be a biological lab here?"

Considering that his "parents" in this body were genetic scientists, Peter thought it might be possible.

"Even if there is a lab, what good would it do me now?"

"You mean to experiment on yourself? If you can't be Spider-Man, do you want to become Fly-Man or Cockroach-Man?"

Shaking his head, Peter dismissed these absurd thoughts and continued cleaning.

Finally, Peter plopped onto the floor. "Done… I'm exhausted."

He had spent nearly the entire afternoon clearing the shed.Only a pile of miscellaneous metal items remained in a corner.

"Wow… this is heavy!"

Peter lifted each piece, feeling his back strain.

"Huh? What's this… a basement?"

After moving the heavy items, he noticed something unusual.Years of neglect, combined with the weight of the metals, had pressed down the wooden floor, revealing a hole.

Peter lay on the floor and peered inside. He could just make out a staircase descending into darkness.

"What a mysterious basement… could it be left by my parents?"

Curiosity sparked. After all, the "parents" of this body had been killed for their scientific achievements.

"Alright… let's go check it out."

Peter didn't think the sudden basement posed any danger. This wasn't a tomb—there were no deadly traps or perils.

He found a flashlight, widened the hole with a hammer until it was big enough to enter, and carefully descended. His feet soon touched solid ground. With the flashlight illuminating the path, he slowly moved deeper.

"What's that… a dinosaur egg?"

At the far end of the basement, he discovered an oval-shaped "giant egg."Upon closer inspection, he realized:

"No… this isn't an egg. It looks like… a spaceship!"

Chapter 3: The Superman Script Is Loading(Add to Favorites and Continue Reading!)

"A farm, a basement, and an alien spaceship…"

All familiar elements combined, instantly forming an image in Peter's mind.

Sky-blue suit clinging to a perfect form, an "S" emblem of hope on the chest.Hovering above, watching everything below.A red cape fluttered in the wind behind him.A god among mortals, his power enough to make one tremble.

So… I wouldn't be…

Even as a mere thought in Peter's mind, his heart raced. The tension was stronger than when he had snuck into Oscorp and been bitten by a genetically modified spider.

After all, this was Superman.Spider-Man's seemingly immense power was insignificant compared to him.Superman could crush Spider-Man as easily as a human crushing a spider.
