Perhaps all across the world, or even the vast firmament itself, each distinguished family have their own symbol that makes it easy for anyone aware to identify them, and that applies true to the aristocratic houses of the Kyrios Empire as well, each noble families bearing their own unique insignia that allows every person, every resident of the empire, to have an idea about their identity even without introductions.
And if a citizen, especially if they are from the north, were to be asked what is the most prominent noble house insignia that they can think of, more likely than not, they wouldn't mention insignia from one of the four great ducal houses, nor will they mention symbols bearing the identity of marquisates, but rather, they will immediately point out to an insignia that bears the identity of a house of heroic figures.
With the unassuming black base that appears different from the usual white used by other crests, the insignia's pureness is dyed with an ashen white in a draconic form, the life-like display making any onlooker shiver by the sharp, crimson gaze of this curled dragon, truly a sign that commands both awe and respect.
If one were to be an outsider who is unaware of the happenings within the Kyrios Empire, they might assume that the bearer of this insignia is no mere noble but the royal or imperial family of Kyrios instead, but it is exactly this imperial family that is the root of this misconception, as their greatest minds were the one to design, and the emperor to approve and grant, this kind of a grand crest to symbolize the identity of a house of earls.
"There's no need for identity check? I thought even nobles are undergoing it?"
Staring at the guards standing at the gates of the Lumencia Academy, guards that are making sure to prevent any sort of problem from arising, a tall yet quite lanky, middle-aged man asked with an amiable smile on his face, said the guard in front of him nodding in affirmation before they replied in a voice that appears calm, yet nonetheless hide quite the excitement underneath.
"Yes, Sir Alaric, that is indeed that case, nobles and their identities are still under the verification requirements but this is different, after all…"
Staring at the carriage bearing the draconic insignia, the guard tasked with verifying the identity of everyone who enters the Lumencia Academy grounds doesn't even need to finish his sentence in order of the head butler to understand his thoughts, prompting him to nod as he leaves the guard another question just to satiate his curiosity about something.
"I see, what if I am not Sir Arthur's aide then, what if I just introduced myself as Alaric, and what if the people inside of the carriage is not the Sword Dragon?"
The Sword Dragon's aide asked with a smile on his face, a tinge of sharpness in his gaze as he awaited the guard's answer, that sharpness, freezing the guard for a moment before he managed to regain himself as he realizes that there's no ill intent to it, the very next moment he gathered his composure allowing him to reply to the question.
"There is no one who doesn't recognize the face of Sir Arthur's most loyal aide, Sir Alaric, and even if that wasn't the case, there's no one in the empire who have enough guts to dare pretend to be the Draconia Family, sir"
With this guard's reply, his other companions couldn't help but nod in agreement as well, their faces, despite the calm surface, are already showing sign of their façade's collapse, that excitement of standing in front of an idol something that makes even the most stoic of man feel like they are back to their childhood again.
"I see, that makes sense, young man, then I won't hold your work anymore, thank you for your and everyone else's service"
Seeing as this is the case, this is the way that these guards think, the head butler of the Draconia House no longer tries to ask them anything else, smiling at them as he shows a nod of approval making the guard's calm façade to finally collapse, smile sneaking up their faces as they reply to the tall butler with a lively voice that pulled quite the attention to them as well.
"It's our honor, sir!"
With their carriage finally entering the premise of the Lumencia Academy, it doesn't take long for said carriage to pull the attention of everyone around them, the conspicuous insignia of a mythical creature that symbolizes absolute power something that everyone is familiar with, making it so that their gazes eventually drift towards the body of the carriage, wondering whether the ones inside will make their appearance.
As the carriage finally stops, reaching their destination, the father, who had grown to understand that his son's old, anxious temperament is long gone, couldn't help but notice his clenched, trembling hands, the emotion welling from the depth of this boy who returned from the future and having the chance to make up for his regrets something that is misunderstood by said boy's father, clueless to his child's true circumstances, as a nervousness, a sign that even with his growth, the young man is still the child that he had guided and grown for all his life.
Hence the words of encouragement that comes out from his mouth, heartfelt words that wasn't really carefully thought of, but nevertheless manages to carry the message he wants to convey to his sole child.
"It's kind of awkward for me to call myself by my title but, go ahead, boy, show them the blood of the Sword Dragon running through your veins"
And hearing those words, the young man, the sage who returned, already starting to wallow in remorse, was snapped out of this negative state, allowing him to feel the excitement flowing along his veins as he had come to realize that things are different now, the power and strength he holds in his hand something that will overturn everything to his favor, unlike how it was before in his previous life.
"I will, old man"
There is nothing else that should be said, and even if there is, those are words that are already understood by those two as they smile at each other, the son, showing his gratefulness to the father, making sure to live up to his expectation, and the father, only wishing nothing but the best for his child, the sole treasure and the only trace left behind by the woman he loved, and still love, the most.
With that, it is only the younger Draconia that steps outside the carriage as the older one still has a lot of matters that he needs to deal with, the only time said older Draconia appearing again will be when the time comes for this trial to finish, to meet and greet his son the last time for a long, long while, given that those who are to be accepted as freshmen in the academy would be allowed neither exit from the academy's premise nor visitation from family and friend outside the academy until they achieve a certain level of progress to their strength.
