Chapter 10 - Chapter 9: What Does It Have to Do With Me?

Almost everyone in the Tianhe Division had Cultivation; to be precise, they were all considered part of the Cultivation Realm.

It was perfectly normal for ordinary people not to know about it.

And since they needed to earn money, they naturally took commissions from ordinary people; otherwise, it was quite difficult to earn money from people within the Cultivation Realm.

Those people would only post commissions when they encountered something outside their area of expertise; otherwise, they would handle it themselves.

However, the farther they walked in, the more surprised Jiang Zuo became. "The layout of this courtyard was designed by an expert."

The Chi Xue Child was astonished. "You know about this too, Fellow Daoist? I've heard that when Elder Chen was young, he met an Immortal. The layout for this courtyard was supposedly left behind by that person, and then someone else was hired to build it."

"No," Jiang Zuo said, shaking his head. "This layout couldn't have been set up by an ordinary person. Without the power of Tier Six or above, it would be impossible to construct."

It seems the person who helped construct the courtyard was the very same one who left the plans.

"However, there is one thing I find strange. With this Feng Shui Formation in place, it should be impossible for a Demon Cultivator to keep the master of this house in a coma for an extended period."

The Chi Xue Child looked at Jiang Zuo in surprise. He had casually evaluated the Feng Shui Formation and even knew it was laid by a master of Tier Six or above.

'Is he for real?'

"Could the Feng Shui Formation have been broken?"

Jiang Zuo pointed upward. "Look up."

The Chi Xue Child looked up, and his jaw dropped.

An auspicious light glowed in the sky, enveloping the entire courtyard in its protection. It was an astonishing sight; one could easily live to be a hundred here, free of illness and pain.

The Chi Xue Child was so shocked he was almost speechless. "This is the Feng Shui Formation? It's terrifying. I couldn't sense a single thing from outside."

The Chi Xue Child was starting to believe Jiang Zuo. A grand formation like this would require at least a Tier Five cultivator; anyone weaker couldn't even begin to interact with it.

The butler leading the way also glanced at the sky, his heart filling with even more contempt. 'These two are just putting on a show.'

'Pompous and self-important. All they do is spout useless words, deliberately saying things I don't understand to sound profound.'

'They must take everyone else for fools.'

He had now completely lost all faith in the two of them.

Soon, they crossed the courtyard and arrived at the villa.

There were a few other people in the main hall: a Daoist, a Monk, and a young woman in a Magic Robe.

'Are they all here to treat the illness?'

Jiang Zuo watched them with great interest.

They also saw Jiang Zuo and the Chi Xue Child. While the Magical Girl scrutinized them, the Daoist and the Monk were openly disdainful.

'Another pair of swindlers trying their luck.'

That was more or less what they were thinking.

In Jiang Zuo's eyes, however, these three did have some ability. Each of them emitted a faint fluctuation of Spiritual Qi, so they weren't completely useless.

The Magical Girl, in particular, had an elemental aura. Not bad. He reckoned she had reached Tier One.

She was the strongest fighter of the three.

She was only the strongest fighter, though. 'Everyone has their specialty,' he thought. In other areas, the Magical Girl might not measure up to the Monk and the Daoist.

Just then, a young man with a haggard expression walked out.

He cupped his hands in a salute to Jiang Zuo and the others, pleading, "Masters, I've paid a great price to invite all of you here. Please, you must do everything in your power."

This was Chen Yao, the eldest grandson of the Chen Family. He was the one handling all matters related to contacting these extraordinary individuals.

The Daoist declared, "This humble Daoist will not fail you."

The Monk said, "My Buddha is merciful."

The Magical Girl glanced left and right, then finally declared, "The Elements will rule all."

Everyone: "..."

This time, Jiang Zuo remained silent. He was confident, but not blindly so. He needed to see the patient first.

Chen Yao nodded and led everyone toward Old Master Chen's room.

The moment they entered, Jiang Zuo heard someone shouting, "Chen Yao, you unfilial descendant! Old Master Chen thought so highly of you, and all you can do is find a bunch of street swindlers! Are you living in the past? You won't even let us send him to the hospital. Do you know I've already made an appointment with experts from abroad? You are simply... simply foolish to the extreme!"

Jiang Zuo glanced at the man. He was middle-aged. 'Probably an uncle or something,' he figured.

Chen Yao explained, "Uncle Chen the Second, just give me a little more time. We really can't let Grandpa leave this place. If it's absolutely necessary, you can have the experts come here. The Chen Family will cover all the expenses."

Uncle Chen the Second was furious. "Who do you think they are? You think you can just summon them for a house call?"

The Chi Xue Child lowered his voice. "This Chen Yao must know something."

Jiang Zuo nodded. "At the very least, he knows this estate has a unique Feng Shui Formation."

"Are you confident, Fellow Daoist?"

"I need to see the patient."

Just then, Jiang Zuo and the Chi Xue Child suddenly heard a woman's voice call out from behind them, "Excuse me, can you move? I need to get in."

Without turning his head, Jiang Zuo took a step aside.

The Chi Xue Child, however, glanced back and said, "Sorry."

He had to give Jiang Zuo credit. He had completely ignored the person behind him. 'Sure, he moved aside, but isn't that reaction a little abnormal?'

The woman also thought Jiang Zuo was rude. She glanced at him, then exclaimed in surprise, "It's you?"

Only then did Jiang Zuo glance at the woman behind him. It was the woman from the pharmacy the day before.

Jiang Zuo ignored her.

The Chi Xue Child: "..."

He finally understood. That reputation for "bad reviews, no explanation" really wasn't an unfair slander against this Fellow Daoist Po Xiao.

Ignoring people was as natural as breathing to him, and it wasn't an act in the slightest.

'Impressive, truly impressive.'

The young woman was about to fly into a rage, but Chen Yao walked over. "Zhuying, what's wrong?"

Seeing her older brother approach, Chen Zhuying immediately said, fuming, "It's him! He's the one who wouldn't sell me the medicine yesterday, not even for ten times the price! And he even dared to lecture me."

At this, all eyes turned to Jiang Zuo.

There was a knowing look in everyone's eyes.

'Another opportunist,' they thought. 'Is he going to claim now that he refused to sell the medicine specifically to save Old Master Chen?'

'It's a classic move to make himself look both benevolent and capable.'

Almost everyone thought so. Even Chen Yao was preparing to make that excuse on Jiang Zuo's behalf.

Although he didn't know who Jiang Zuo was or what abilities he actually possessed.

But the fact that he was here at all suggested he had some extraordinary quality.

Regardless of who this person was, Chen Yao didn't want to antagonize him, not when there was no major grudge between them.

This was especially true for something as simple as refusing to sell medicine; technically, the man had done nothing wrong.

If this incident created bad blood, and because of that bad blood, the man held back his true abilities...

...then the Chen Family could not afford the consequences.

Just as Chen Yao was about to smooth the matter over, Jiang Zuo spoke.

Upon hearing Jiang Zuo's words, everyone froze. They all stared at him in utter disbelief.

"What does it have to do with me whether he lives or dies? Why should I sell my medicine for a mere ten times the price?"

Jiang Zuo's tone was placid, as if he were discussing something utterly inconsequential.

In other words, in his eyes, it was a matter of complete indifference whether Old Master Chen lived or died.

At this, the butler grew furious, and the other family members glared at Jiang Zuo with indignation.

The Daoist and the Monk shot him looks of contempt. They had clearly overestimated this young man.

Even the Magical Girl looked at him with a hint of disdain. His words were simply too heartless.
