Early the next morning at the Wesren Heavy Industries Headquarters.
Vera, Colin, and Lina were uncharacteristically absent from their offices where mountains of paperwork awaited. Instead, they stood side-by-side at the entrance of the first-floor lobby, looking as haggard as three vengeful spirits.
Colin's eye sockets were deeply sunken, and he clutched a half-read financial report in his hand.
"If he's just here to feed us pie in the sky today, or spout nonsense like 'keep up the good work,'" Colin said, glaring at the street through gritted teeth, "I swear I'll smash this report into his face and go back to the countryside to farm."
Vera held a cup of dark green concentrated stimulant potion, swallowing a mouthful with a deadpan expression. The bitter taste made her deeply furrowed brows relax slightly.
