Chapter 38 - Instinct

Sora's POV

I was flabbergasted at what just happened.

Logan had never said anything like that before, not about anyone, not like this. He was usually calm, rational, and always gave people the benefit of the doubt. 

If Yeongjae had managed to trigger that reaction from him… then maybe there really was something about him.

"Why are you saying that?" I asked quietly. "Is there something you know about him that I don't?"

Logan glanced back toward the restaurant. Through the glass, I could see Yejin, Hanna, and Yeongjae pushing their chairs back, getting ready to leave.

Before I could look again, Logan gently held my arm and guided me farther down the sidewalk, away from the entrance, away from curious eyes.

"I'm sorry," he said, exhaling. "I didn't mean to make him sound bad." He hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "But the way he looks at you… It was unsettling. Like he already knows you. Like he's studying you. Like he is planning something to you."
