Chapter 55 - The Wall

Sora's POV

"Sora!"

I didn't even need to look to know that voice.

I turned, and there he was.

Logan.

Still in his clinic clothes, sleeves slightly rolled up, his watch gleaming under the café lights. He looked like he had just come straight from saving lives and decided to drop by mine.

"What's going on?" he asked, glancing at his watch. "You left the shop early. I thought I'd swing by, maybe grab dinner here."

His eyes scanned the storefront, then the dimmed lights inside.

I smiled, pointing playfully at the sign hanging on the glass.

"Sorry, Doc. We're closed."

He blinked. "Closed? It's still early. Why are you closing already? Did something happen?"

Something happened.

Oh, Logan.

If only you knew.

"Yup," I said brightly. "We ran out of stock. Completely wiped out. So we're closing early."

Which wasn't even a lie.

The café had been devoured.

In the best way possible.

"Come help me with the roll-up," I added casually. "I'll make something for you upstairs."
