Chapter 88 - Far From Over (1)

Sora's POV

The kitchen suddenly felt smaller after Yeongjae said he had secrets.

The eggs I had been whisking sat forgotten in the bowl while the stove hissed softly beneath the pan. I turned the heat down absentmindedly, but my attention was fully on him now.

"Secrets?" I repeated.

Yeongjae leaned against the counter, rubbing the back of his neck as if deciding how much to say.

Jiho appeared, just stopping by the dining table, quietly watching us.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

That alone was enough to make my chest tighten.

Finally, Yeongjae exhaled.

"The night of the fire… Jiho saw someone."

My grip tightened on the spatula.

"What do you mean, someone?"

Jiho stepped forward, his expression serious.

"When the café caught fire, everyone thought it started in the kitchen and spread naturally," he said. "But when I came back from the beach house to get some documents in my office, I saw someone trying to break into the residential door."
