Chapter 51 - Chapter 50: Zenitsu's Disappearance

In Ogimotoya, Inosuke, who was forbidden to speak and forced to wear a kimono, was constantly filled with Life Qi and discomfort.

However, he finally heard the name of Uzui Tengen's wife.

Two young women stood at a room's entrance, while Inosuke hid around the corner of the corridor, eavesdropping.

"I wonder if Young Miss Makio is alright; she's locked herself in her room and hasn't come out."

"She says she's not feeling well, but she won't go to the hospital. The madam will probably drag her out soon, right?"

"I just brought her food; I'll leave it in front of the door for now."

In Kyogoku House, Zenitsu seemed to be completely engrossed in playing the shamisen and koto.

At the same time, on the second floor of a small to medium-sized tavern...

Tomioka Giyu was writing down brewing steps while explaining them in more detail to the madam.

A short while later, Tomioka Giyu finished writing and handed the paper to the infatuated madam, smiling as he said,

"Please try the method I described first. If it succeeds, it won't be too late to trust me then."

"No need, no need~ I agree to all the conditions you mentioned~" The madam was very straightforward, accepting the paper Tomioka Giyu handed over.

It wasn't just because of Tomioka Giyu's good looks; more importantly, she also felt that the method Tomioka Giyu proposed was feasible.

Tomioka Giyu was stunned; he hadn't expected it to go so smoothly.

He was asking for half of this tavern's profits, and no matter how many branches opened in the future, he wanted half of the total income.

"Are you sure? You're not joking with me, are you?" Tomioka Giyu still asked with some uncertainty.

"Of course! What I, Morifuji Murasaki, say is like water poured out!"

"Come, let's sign the contract now, Xiaoling~"

Morifuji Murasaki clapped her hands, the door opened, and a young girl walked in with several blank papers.

It wasn't until the contract was signed that Tomioka Giyu fully recovered his senses. He couldn't help but touch his face, sighing inwardly, 'Truly, good looks are justice.'

Because he had settled a major matter for the future, Tomioka Giyu was very happy, which resulted in him getting completely drunk.

The night passed without incident. The next day at noon, Tomioka Giyu groggily woke up in a room in the tavern.

While Tomioka Giyu was having pleasant dreams that morning, Inosuke discovered traces of a demon in Ogimotoya.

Unfortunately, he was delayed by a guest from Ogimotoya, causing Inosuke to lose the demon's trail.

Inosuke gnashed his teeth and angrily said, "Damn it, I lost them!! It's all that brat's fault for interfering!!"

And finally, in Kyogoku House, our Zenitsu had hit the jackpot, so to speak.

Daki was the Oiran of Kyogoku House!

What was worse, Zenitsu had entered Daki's room because he heard a girl crying!

At this moment, Daki stood behind Zenitsu, coldly saying,

"What are you doing in someone else's room?"

Zenitsu broke out in a cold sweat. He didn't even need to turn around; the voice told him that what was behind him was not human, but a demon!

And what made Zenitsu even more terrified was that until he was called out, he hadn't noticed anything approaching at all.

"Could she... really be an Upper Rank demon?!" Zenitsu thought to himself, his hands beginning to tremble uncontrollably.

Seeing Zenitsu squatting on the ground, neither speaking nor moving, Daki said impatiently,

"Hey, are your ears deaf?!"

At this moment, two little girls hid by the door, fearfully explaining for Zenitsu,

"Warabihime Oiran, that person just arrived today, so..."

"Huh?" Daki's cold gaze swept over them, "So what?!"

Seeing this, Zenitsu quickly spoke, "I came in without permission, I'm really sorry!"

"Because the room was a mess, and that child was crying..."

Evidently, everything Zenitsu said sounded like nonsense to Daki.

Instead, Zenitsu's appearance made Daki more interested.

"You're too ugly, it's disgusting. Why don't you just die?"

"And what's with that hair color! Trying to attract attention?"

After speaking, Daki glanced around the room again, her voice filled with anger.

"The room is still a mess, but I already ordered it to be cleaned, didn't I?"

As she spoke, Daki walked over to the little girl who was still shedding tears, grabbed her ear, and lifted her up.

"Eek!—"

The pain made the little girl scream uncontrollably.

"Shut up!!"

But clearly, this only made Daki more irritated, and the hand clutching the little girl's ear tightened.

"Why are you screaming! Hurry up and clean the room!"

Blood flowed down the little girl's ear. She instinctively tried to grab Daki's arm to alleviate the pain.

But fear made her hand stop mid-air.

She cried and begged, "I'm really sorry, I'm really sorry."

"I'll clean it right away, please forgive me..."

At this moment, the "cowardly" Zenitsu, with a resolute gaze, pressed down on Daki's wrist.

"Please, let go!"

But unfortunately, Daki merely slapped Zenitsu, sending him flying!

Slowly walking over to the unconscious Zenitsu, Daki said coldly, "Don't touch me so casually, you presumptuous brat!"

"It seems you need some discipline, some strict discipline!"

Returning to the present, it was noon, and Tomioka Giyu was walking down the street, looking for a restaurant selling daikon and salmon stew; he was hungry~

And not far in front of him, on a rooftop, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and the newly arrived Uzui Tengen were talking in a very tense atmosphere.

"Zenitsu won't be coming."

Hearing Uzui Tengen's words, Tanjiro and Inosuke had completely different reactions.

Inosuke stared at Uzui Tengen, who was squatting in front of him, silently marveling, 'This guy has some tricks up his sleeve...'

'Completely silent, not even the wind stirs!'

Tanjiro, on the other hand, quickly asked, "You said Zenitsu won't be coming, what happened?"

"I'm sorry, I probably put you both in harm's way," Uzui Tengen said in a low tone, explaining,

"I misjudged several times because I wanted to save my wives. Zenitsu has gone missing; contact has been lost since last night!"

"You two should leave the Flower District, your rank is too low."

"For a demon to make Zenitsu disappear right under my nose, the demon here is undoubtedly an Upper Rank!"

"Anyone who loses contact is to be considered dead!"

At this point, Uzui Tengen stood up and instructed,

"After this, only Tomioka and I will act."

Hearing him say this, Tanjiro anxiously shouted, "No, Uzui-san!! We..."

Before Tanjiro could finish, Uzui Tengen directly interrupted, "There's no need to be ashamed. Survival is victory."

"Don't miss the chance to live!"

With that said, Uzui Tengen was about to leave when he turned and saw Tomioka Giyu holding a bowl of daikon and salmon stew.

He was standing below the building, eating and looking in his direction.
