Chapter 1 - The file that changed everything

The lecture hall was quiet, despite the noise of students leaving.

Elyos sat at the last desk, half-heartedly checking his phone, when a notification from Leo popped up:

"Assigned. Don't ask about the grade."

Elyos raised an eyebrow slightly.

He didn't need to ask; the way Leo had written it was enough.

A few minutes later, Leo arrived, walking towards him with a languid gait.

He placed his bag on the table and said without sitting down,

"I don't know how you did it… but you're five points ahead of me."

Elyos slowly closed his phone and smiled a quiet smile, not one of pride, but one of simple satisfaction.

"So you know what this means… don't you?"

Leo sighed, then sat down opposite him as if accepting a final verdict.

"Yes, I know. Say what you will."

Elyos glanced briefly at Leo,

his smile widening slightly as a flicker of mischief flickered in his eyes. He said quietly,

"When I get home… I'll send you the profile of the character I want to include in your novel."

Leo blinked, as if he hadn't expected something so simple.

"A profile… of a character?"

"Yes. An additional character. It won't take much of your time."

Elyos said it in a neutral tone, but it didn't hide the slight feeling that crept into Leo's voice… a mixture of concern and curiosity.

He nodded finally.

"Okay… I'll keep my promise. Just… don't send anything strange."

Elyos's lips trembled as he struggled to suppress a laugh.

-That night-

Leo sat in his small room at his wooden desk, cluttered with papers, flipping through his notes on the new chapter of his novel.

It was late, and the aroma of hot coffee filled the air, while a yellow lamp illuminated the quiet corner of his desk.

He raised his coffee cup to his lips… But before he could take a sip, his phone vibrated on the table.

New notification.

From: Elyos

File ready. Don't change anything.

Leo's hand froze for a moment.

He put the cup back down on the table and slowly opened the message, as if expecting something unpleasant.

As soon as the first page of the file appeared before him… he stared at it blankly, as if reading the results of an exam he hadn't prepared for.

He opened the entire file:

Official Character Profile: Elyos Verdancrest

(Presented by Elyos himself to his friend Leo… with classy audacity)

Full Name:

Elyos Verdancrest, the rightful heir to the Duchy of Verdancrest, and the face of the family, born to grace the front pages of any respectable work.

🏰 Family Background:

House Verdancrest, a duchy known for:

Political Influence

High-Class Education

And most importantly… the renowned aesthetic heritage that requires you to write down, Leo 😌✨

Physical Description: (Please stick to the description, Leo)

Height: 190 cm — Yes, tall, don't understate it.

Body: Well-proportioned and sculpted… not too bulky so as not to spoil the aesthetic, and not too thin so as not to lose my dignity.

Skin: Naturally smooth and fair (no magic… just genetics :)).

Eyes: Light turquoise, sparkling in a way that immediately draws attention.

Eyelashes: Long and annoying to anyone who tries to deny my beauty.

Hair: Short, jet-black… the kind you're forced to describe in the novel because the reader "needs to know."

Features: A harmonious blend of masculine good looks and quiet beauty—please don't "simplify" the description, this is very important to the character. ;]

And at the end of the appearance section, Elyos adds a deliberate sentence:

(Note: Beauty is an important part of the character and cannot be omitted… unfortunately.) — Elyos

💎 Key Traits:

1) Beauty of Noble Blood

Beauty inherited from the family… No, not up for debate, Leo.

2) Presence That Draws Attention

A subtle aura related to presence… Write it as it is… No need to exaggerate, I'm already exaggerating :)

3) Calm Intelligence

A quiet intelligence that shines through in his eyes… you know, the same kind that frustrates teachers when they can't catch him.

4) Positive Aura

A natural social charm… that makes anyone else next to me seem a little intimidated… and that's normal, Leo, don't worry, the story will take it in.

(Last page):

"Leo, I know you might feel the look is a bit overdone… but please don't change anything. If you reduce the beauty… the character loses their identity. And if you increase the strength… it becomes too much. And let's agree… beauty is more important than strength :) Hhhhhh Thank you for your commitment, — Elyos, who won the challenge."

———-

After Leo finished reading the file, he shifted the paper slightly in his hands.

"..."

He didn't know what to say, but the idea of an additional character bearing such a description was hard to grasp.

He read another line, then calmly placed the file back on the table.

"This is too much… that bastard," he muttered, as if commenting on something he had no choice in the matter.

"He was supposed to be a background character, not the center of attention," he grumbled softly.

He took a short breath, then whispered, more in acknowledgment than protest, "...at least give him a reason for being beautiful… genetics… huh!"

After a brief silence, Leo instinctively pulled the pen toward him.

He wasn't angry, but he felt a slight urge to restore balance to his imaginary world, which Elyos had disrupted with this file. He glanced again at the paper, a small thought flashing through his mind:

"Well… if he's given himself so much beauty, perhaps I can give him… an end befitting such quiet vanity."

It wasn't a cruel thought,

nor a frightening tragedy,

but something akin to a friendly banter:

A sideways fate…

A harmless embarrassment…

A funny destiny that leaves a light touch.

He closed the notebook, a mischievous spark in his eyes:

A small, barely perceptible smile played on his lips, but one that carried a clear note of peaceful intent.

"We shall see, Elyos… we shall see."
