With both my hands now propping up my head, I begin thinking deeply about what the original story was about. After a minute of racking my brain, a memory unlocks itself.
"Oh!" I think to myself.
To sum up: this story is a generic Mary Sue type novel that you'd find online. Consisting of 2D characters with no real character arcs and predictable plots and outcomes- not to mention the ridiculous amount of scenes that you can't help but cringe at when reading. Like many others, this too is set in an elite grammar school, only for the richest and smartest to attend. The male lead of the story is your standard domineering, rich school bully, whose heart softens immediately at the sight of the innocent, talented female lead.
That was just about all I could remember. I mean, can you blame me? I read this novel when I was thirteen, and only for the romance between the two leads! Sure, I do slightly remember a few romantic scenes but, when they took place and what happened before that?- I could remember none of it. Truly tragic honestly, I'd just have to hope I can turn a corner without accidentally eavesdropping on the two leads' cheesy professions of love.
Before I can let out a sigh of disappointment, an unexpected scream rings through the corridor- sounding louder and louder with each passing second. Wait, I think...I think this scream is getting closer...?
My thought was correct.
Not even two seconds later, the door swings wide open, revealing a confused looking student. He has a tall stature, black short hair and wears thick black glasses. Other than his unexpected screaming, nothing about him stood out- so I just assumed he was some background character. I'd say his appearance is so-so. His height? Honestly average. His face? Ehh, it wasn't particularly breath-taking...
A classmate was about to ask whether he was ok, but misses their chance when the boy's eyes locks onto another's- the female lead's.
I glance over at her and notice that she too is stunned silent and stiff.
Luckily for everyone though, the boy immediately bolts back in the direction he came from- lifting up a dense feeling of unease in the classroom and replacing it with a feeling of confusion.
To no one's surprise, the room fills with chatter once again- however this time, everyone was talking about the same topic...
Amongst everyone's confusion, I was even more puzzled!
"Who was that just then?!" my thoughts ran wildly, "There's no way this actually happened in the novel, I would have definitely remembered this scene otherwise".
Before any more questions start forming in my head, the school bell rings and in comes the teacher. Lessons have now begun.

"EVEN AFTER TRANSMIGRATING INTO A ROMANCE BOOK, WHY DO I STILL HAVE TO DO MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCES!!"
My fists slowly relax as I now head home after a long, torturous day at school. The thought of jumping and snuggling into my blanket fills me with much comfort- only for that comfort to be forcibly taken away when a sudden realisation hits.
"Where is my home?!"
This world, although looks similar to the earth that I know, is in fact completely different! From the landscapes to the shops and buildings, nothing is recognisable. Only then did I understand: I didn't have anywhere to go. Since I still don't know who I accidentally possessed during my transmigration, details regarding who I am is still a mystery. Other than their name printed onto their student lanyard, not much else is known.
"Emmy Lovelace, Year 12 Sixth Form..." I mumble out loud as I try to read the writing on the card.
Focused on reading the information on my card, I don't notice another student walking in my direction, so before know it...
Umph!
I immediately step back to take a better look at who I accidentally bumped into.
Dark black hair, tall stature and thick black glasses...
Hold on! This is...!
"You're!!" I blurt out in shock, "you're the guy who was screaming this morning!"
He shyly looks away- likely from embarrassment- and starts messing with his hair.
"Uh, yeah I guess..." he mumbles.
I'm about to ask him why he did what he did but think against it, seeing that he's uncomfortable. So instead, I quickly apologise for bumping into him and continue to walk past him.
However, after only two steps, a cold hand gently grabs a hold of my wrist. I turn back, only to see the same boy looking down shamefully.
"Umm, if you don't mind... could I stay at your place?" he mutters.
"I'm sorry?"
"It's just that I don't really.. know my way home..."
I stare at him dumbfoundedly.
"You don't know where you live?" I ask with my head tilting.
He looks up, his eyes barely meeting mine before slightly nodding.
I just continue to stare at him.
How could he not know where he lives? I glance at his student card attached to his lanyard and notice that he's in the same year as me.
"Rowan Rhodes?" I say as I read out the name on his card.
"Huh? Whose that?" he asks, confused.
Huh?? What do you mean who? Isn't that your name?!
At this point, thousands of questions are whizzing inside my head. All of them unanswered and greatly bothering me.
How could he not know his own name? Was it his nerves acting up or something? Surely not... so then why is he acting so clueless?
"Um, is that not your name? It says it on your lanyard." I reply politely.
"Huh? Oh...!"
"..."
Did he really forget his own name? But how would one even manage that? No wait, maybe he didn't forget it but rather... he didn't know it. Maybe...
I mustered up the little courage I had and asked him one question:
"H-have you...also transmigrated here?"
His eyes widen and his brows lift. Slowly, his right hand raises up and with his index finger pointing out at me, he asks a much anticipating question:
"You've also been sucked into this novel?!" he exclaims in shock.
