After receiving their assurance that the area would be guarded, Jason finally left.
Once inside the car, he sent the file he had received to Ezekiel.
"Zeke," Jason said. "I do not think you need to search for two different people anymore. The hunter you met earlier is Clyde McNeil. The very hunter you are looking for from the Purple Guild."
The irritation and frustration on Ezekiel's face instantly disappeared. He burst out laughing. His green eyes began to glow again, reflecting the madness of the beast hidden within.
"Hahaha! What a coincidence! Who would have thought the guy I was looking for would turn out to be him?"
"This is good. This works. He is definitely the one. That restoration power. If it is him…"
Ezekiel's voice dropped so low that Jason could no longer hear what he was saying.
Jason was curious, but he had no intention of prying. The glow in Ezekiel's eyes was enough to kill that curiosity.
Ezekiel was an S class hunter. Every S class hunter in this world carried a trace of madness within them.
Some were simply better at hiding it.
Jason gave him time. After twenty minutes, Ezekiel finally calmed down and fell silent. His expression showed that he was now in a good mood.
"What do you plan to do now?" Jason asked.
"Lay a trap of course," Ezekiel replied immediately.
"He must have realized that I infiltrated his house. He probably received messages from his guild telling him we were looking for him. That is why he avoided the Purple Guild base. He also stayed away from his home because he knew I had already been there. Unfortunately for him, the inn where he was staying suddenly had a dungeon appear, and that is how we met."
Ezekiel chuckled softly.
"Fate created that coincidence and brought us together. I was naive enough to let it slip away. So now I will create my own coincidence to trap him."
Jason was curious about how Ezekiel planned to do it, but he did not ask. Ezekiel might refuse to answer or become irritated.
Instead, Jason waited to see if Ezekiel would ask for his help.
But Ezekiel did not.
Instead, Jason received a summon from the guild master, Zach, telling him to return to the Watcher's Guild base.
Ezekiel did not stop him.
After dropping Ezekiel off at the place where he had parked his car, Jason used the mana stone installed in his vehicle to teleport directly to the Watcher's Guild.
Ezekiel watched him disappear before quietly leaving the area.
Only then did he realize that coming to Clyde's house had been a mistake. The man was extremely cautious. His house had cameras everywhere.
Waiting there for Clyde to return was useless.
He should return to the Main City and ask his brother to gather the hunters from the guilds they had recently acquired.
Ezekiel knew that Zach had his own motives for absorbing other guilds like this. However, he had no interest in finding out what those motives were.
It had nothing to do with him. His brother rarely interfered with his actions anyway.
As Ezekiel drove away, Kael remained inside his car, watching everything.
The items he had taken from the dungeon were piled up on the back seat. He wondered how he should give them to the Guild Master.
Judging by Jason's personality and seriousness, he had likely already run a background check on him.
Kael briefly wondered whether taking those items had been a mistake. After thinking about it carefully, he concluded that he had made the right decision.
Either way, Jason would eventually obtain the list of members from the Purple Guild. He would learn that Clyde McNeil was his identity and inform Ezekiel.
What happened next would depend entirely on Ezekiel.
But Kael was certain of one thing.
Ezekiel would make his move soon.
And he needed to be ready.
For now, Kael decided to investigate.
He needed to discover what ability Ezekiel possessed and what gift he had received.
Kael placed all the items into his inventory and stepped out of the car.
He had parked behind a small children's park. Beyond it was a patch of forest that ended at a massive wall belonging to a ten story apartment complex.
Kael pulled out the silver coin out of nowhere and it let out a golden ray of light.
In an instant, a dome formed around him and his car, preventing anyone outside from seeing what he was about to do.
Kael then placed the items he had taken from the dungeon on the ground and sorted them according to the monsters they came from.
After arranging them, he lifted the silver coin to his lips and whispered a few words.
Another beam of golden light poured out, covering both him and the items.
When Kael opened his eyes, he was back inside the dungeon.
He saw Ezekiel and himself from earlier.
He rewound time to the moment when Ezekiel handed him the black mask.
His past self stood there wearing the mask while Ezekiel faced him.
At first there were no monsters in sight.
Then Kael watched as Ezekiel slammed his dagger into the ground.
A wave of red light pulsed outward from the dagger, spreading across the vast land.
Watching the wave felt like observing radio signals traveling from one point to another.
Then monsters began to appear from every direction.
Some raced across the ground while others flew at incredible speed.
They were all heading toward one place.
Toward Ezekiel.
Instead of looking alarmed, Ezekiel wore a pleased smile.
The ground trembled as more and more monsters appeared and rushed toward him.
One massive creature burst out of the ground. It was the first boss monster with its body still intact.
When the first wave of monsters reached about five hundred meters from them, Ezekiel's eyes began to glow.
"Kill each other."
His voice was low and magnetic, yet it carried a command so powerful that every living creature obeyed without hesitation.
At that moment, Kael froze in shock.
He finally understood what kind of gift Ezekiel possessed.
