Chapter 16 - Explosive strike

While everyone was observing Mo Fan, Yu Ang finally appeared, dressed in a specially made outfit. The clothes looked like leather yet also like high-grade silk, shining particularly brightly under the lights. Coupled with some very special decorations hanging on him, he looked like a prince entering his hall.

It seemed he had put a lot of effort into his appearance, forming a huge contrast with Mo Fan, who almost came in sandals. After changing into such a high-class outfit, Yu Ang's entire demeanor instantly elevated several notches. Combined with his already tall figure and a slightly effeminate aura, it was natural for him to charm some young girls.

His snow-white attire featured a blend of his family crest and an Ice Element magic pattern. Yu Ang made a dazzling entrance, as expected, and the confident smile on his lips, characteristic of a noble scion, already indicated that he was the protagonist today.

Looking at this idiot, Mo Fan also sneered.

"Damn it, Mu Zhuoyun, that old guy is really spending a fortune. Can you count how many Magic Tools he has on him?" Deng Kai almost jumped out of his chair when he saw this.

Principal Zhu shook his head repeatedly.

Most students from their school couldn't compete with noble scions. While there was a gap in cultivation, their equipment simply wasn't as good as others'.

Just for this coming-of-age ceremony, Mu Zhuoyun had given Yu Ang countless Magic Tools.

And looking at Mo Fan, it seemed he only had the Bone Scythe Shield he'd conned from Zhan Kong.

How the hell was he supposed to fight?!

Seeing this scene, Principal Zhu and many school officials felt a chill.

"Deng Kai, since this duel is witnessed by you, you be the referee this time," Mu Zhuoyun said with a slight smile, already waiting to watch a good show of a cat abusing a mouse.

Deng Kai didn't know what to say and could only silently pray for Mo Fan.

"Both of you are outstanding among the younger generation of mages. This duel is merely to encourage you to cultivate more diligently… In short, stop before serious harm!" Deng Kai stood between the two young mages and said in a voice that could be heard throughout the venue.

Deng Kai retreated slightly but did not completely leave the arena.

From this position, if anything unexpected happened, he could immediately intervene.

"Alright, shake hands. We can start once I give the command," Deng Kai said.

Mo Fan and Yu Ang walked towards each other and extended their hands.

A wisp of ice condensed in Yu Ang's palm, and the moment he shook Mo Fan's hand, Mo Fan also ignited a flame.

"You truly are an ignorant little rat. But it doesn't matter, I'll freeze all the water in your brain into ice, that way you might sober up a lot." Yu Ang hadn't expected Mo Fan to react so quickly. After letting go of his hand, he turned and stood in his position, chuckling sinisterly.

"You will remember today forever," Mo Fan said indifferently.

Returning to his position, Mo Fan quietly waited for the start.

The moment he stepped into this manor, he had already lost count of how many eyes showed mockery and pity towards him, and how many people, while verbally praising his courage, curled their lips into a deep sneer of "overestimating oneself, like an egg hitting a rock."

In this world, there are always some people who think they are clever, watching every seemingly outrageous thing you do with the smug, gloating faces of those who have 'been there, done that.' They themselves are trapped in a mediocre cage, living in a system they believe no one can escape from. So they feel and hope that everyone is like them, and they use their self-righteous experience and shortsightedness to mock those who dare to take a gamble.

Some people just love to gloat, love to babble endlessly, love to show off their limited intelligence and sense of superiority. But with just one word, 'Start,' he could make these people shut up completely.

"Duel, begin!" With a command, Deng Kai officially announced the start of this magic duel that Mo Fan had long anticipated.

The next second, Mo Fan's pupils instantly reflected streaks of crimson fire. Within these fire streaks, seven flame star-points could be clearly seen rapidly connecting to form a Star Path.

"Fire Ignition!"

He wasted no time, directly throwing out a fireball!

Such skilled release naturally caused a slight surprise among the onlookers.

Yu Ang sneered, using his mind to search for the defensive Magic Tool within his spiritual world.

"Ice Dust Shield!"

Yu Ang awakened the shield Magic Tool mark connected to his soul. In an instant, icy specks appeared, and a curved Ice Dust Shield rapidly materialized in front of him. This ice shield was enough to completely protect Yu Ang's body behind it.

"Eruption!"

The crimson flame was initially as small as a candlelight, but in the next second, it emitted a huge roar.

"Boom!!!"

Without warning, the flames suddenly exploded.

Waves of fire rolled outwards from the point where Fire Ignition fell, and scorching tongues of fire danced wildly.

Blinding red, swirling heat, the air vibrated with that explosion, and the vibrations all reached the guests' seating area.

Everyone watched in stunned silence, their eyes fixed on that intensely hot, erupting Fire Ignition.

Who would have thought that a common student had already mastered Fire Burst - Eruption!?

It must be said that this year, Tianlan Magic High School also produced a genius student. One must know that many noble scions, even with countless resources poured into them, had only just reached this stage.

Principal Zhu and Deng Kai were actually the first to notice Mo Fan's Fire Ignition, but even now, their emotions had not settled.

After so many years of running the school, students who mastered Level 3 Fire Ignition before graduation…

They even forgot, how many years had it been since they had one???

Mu Zhuoyun's chest was already heaving violently, his face full of anger, but more so, immense shock. He hadn't expected this kid to actually reach the third level!!

But with the Magic Tools he had prepared for Yu Ang, he wasn't worried.

Others also saw the armor Magic Tool on Yu Ang, and it was an armor Magic Tool specifically designed to resist flames.

"I forgot to tell everyone, as a gift for my son's eighteenth birthday, I specially gave him this Ice Silkworm Armor, to guard against sneaky attacks from petty individuals," Mu Zhuoyun said slowly to the guests, stroking his beard.

Regarding some of the others' doubts, Mu Zhuoyun calmly added, "Background is also a form of strength."

After hearing this, everyone fell silent.

Although Yu Ang was also very surprised that Mo Fan's Fire Ignition had reached the third level, with his Magic Tool, he had nothing to fear!

"Hahaha, honestly, you're pretty good. I thought you were just a clown deliberately trying to draw attention, but it turns out you were intentionally hiding your abilities, hoping to make a splash with this opportunity. What a pity, just a little bit short, just a little bit short, hahaha!" Yu Ang was incredibly arrogant at this moment.

"If background is a form of strength, then my innate talent must also be a form of strength," Mo Fan said, and lightning enveloped him.

After a Star Path flashed, electric light appeared in Mo Fan's hand.

"Lightning Seal!"

"Fury Strike!"

Electric light flickered. Mo Fan raised his arm high, and as he clenched his palm, streaks of Lightning Seal twisting in the air transformed into soldiers. They roared as they blasted down towards Yu Ang's location.

"Boom!!"

After multiple purple Lightning Seals fell, they connected to form an even stronger surge of lightning, striking the unprepared Yu Ang fiercely. Although he was protected by his armor Magic Tool, his Magic Tool was not omnipotent after all.
