Chapter 8 - ONE DAY

One day

I will be free

Free of the chains

that bind me

One day

one day

I am unseeing,

unfeeling,

cannot hear or taste,

but oh

I will break the chains

that bind

and fly

oh so high

One day

one day

I will be kissed

by the sun

For I am its

favorite child

I will be spoiled

I'll have everything

I wish for

and more

One day

one day

I will be a fool

and fly too close

and fall,

fall,

fall.

Wings broken,

then off

to choose more chains,

Finally—

long chains but,

Can I fly,

fly,

fly?

One day.

One day.

Clamping—

one after another,

Cannot speak,

see,

hear,

or feel,

but oh

can I fly so high

I fly

yet cannot enjoy

For I no longer

can see the views

of freedom

I once loved

I choose

what will bind me

What chain?

What base?

Is this freedom

I longed for?

I will miss the sky

that unbounded me

Long for it,

I will

One day

one day

Bleeding I am,

but I am free

once again

Enough to be kissed

by the sun

once again, but,

There is a hole

in my chest,

right where it is…

Right where warmth

once lived

I can see

I can speak

But oh no…

I cannot feel

Oh where is it,

what is it?

I cannot remember

One day…

please,

I beg for it

But I'll have it

one day,

you'll see

I swear it.

Promise.

one day.
