Waking up, i look around, and don't recognize anything. Seems that I was in a field or a farm. I should be dead. I just remembered the earthquake ceiling collapse on topof me. So this must be reincarnation, a pretty optimistic guess, sadly I think it's more likely this is a hallucinations.
'Am I still black, wait no that doesn't matter focus'? "Boy!"
Well I guess that's my father or slaver.
"Come pick up this hay by the end of the day. Don't let me see you slacking around."
I don't know this dude but I feel like I should listen to him now I start. Picking up A bale of hay I start taking it to the carriage.The Carriage Looks like something you see in Skyrim made out of wood and covered with a fabric tarp over the whole thing,and two horse in the front to pull it. It takes only two hours or so to finish our, and we hed in side the small wooden house to restand eat.
It's only me and him in the house that means I'm his apprentice or this is my father.
After supper my dad pops out some alcohol to drink. I walk away what is think is my room. Sitting on the crappy straw bed I think about what is happening and I realize I really need memories from the boy before. So I'll do the only thing I can, the most cliché thing I could do in this situation.
I cross my leg sit on the floor and meditate,very quickly my head starts to hurt, and memories I was looking comein a tide.
First they come in sparks then my muscles start twitching, before I black out.
I come back to in the morning. Thinking about my memories is kind of depressing. My mother died young. My father has not been the same since he's not neglectful just does not care about life. This is a world of magic and fantasy. There are still some technology here but it's more crafted by person on a individual basis rather than industrialation on earth. Magic worked a bit different than I'm used to though.
It's not the cliché four elements or some cultivation novel, no they are like selective superpowers. Everybody has potential to use magic just not the same wayand might not get a magic unique to them. You may be able to study and read runes to apply the magic but it takes a lot of time and resources to become proficient. Body strengthening can apparently be done by anybody.
My family is kind of mediocre when it comes to magic. My mother had biomancy magic but not anything extreme she could not modify her body nor could she make permanent adjustments to other bodies. All she could do was increase natural regeneration and maybe shove a bone back into place or we break a bone and set it back in place.
My father on the other hand has a type of decomposition magic it really has more to do with the fungi that deal of decomposition but his father was a necromancer who specialized in death and soul magic and that's the thing about attributes and magic it's not always the same as your mothers are your fathers. You could be the greatest magician in the world and birth a child that doesn't even have the same magic attribute but may have a subcategory of the attribute or a combination of your partners attribute it all just depends. When my father found out he had decomposition magic he signed up for the army of course they put him on duty of disposing dead bodies and decomposition decomposing any garbage that was around the base suffice it to say he didn't stand long in the army five years he told me then he got sent to a outpost out here more like Forest really it was ashamed to his family not in the sense where they would have kicked them out and everything but in the family in necromancers you being the only one about necromances not going to do you any favors. So he left and helped establish this frontier village before he was discharged completely he still had to help around with the defense and other maintenance around town but now that he's older and my mother is dead and he has to take care of me he was excused from that as well. He is just a simple farmer now The same situation happened with my mother her family had healing magic but most of it was based on light based healing magic none of it was biomancy based from what I can guess for my memories Life magic restores the body to its previous state almost like there's like a snapshot of yourself that is healed and regenerates the same way each time biomancy seems to take more mental effort and memorization to do it she was kicked out from her house The stereotype of light magic users being haughty and proud here holds true except there's no God to worship so less church than it against but there are healers guilds and other such guilds as well. My grandfather are my other side was a guild master it such guild and so when his third daughter didn't awake and healing magic he sent her away I'm not even sure if they know she's dead.
So from my understanding attributes are based off of your lineage technically in a loose sense things can mutate or degrade or just change but power is not you could come from the greatest neck room answer house in the world and still end up like my father because you didn't have enough man to even raise a zombie or something it means I have a chance of awakening really good magic while both my parents magics attributes are opposites basically they're almost similar enough that it may induce a mutation from my own. But what would that mutation be what could combined biomancy decomposition which is basically just mushroom magic death magic light magic and soul magic. There's also a subcategory of animation magic from my father's lineage and other similar types of magic. That is to say I have options but it all depends on what I am granted.
First I need to think about my goals I'm not going to say in this friendship village forever Don't get me wrong it's a nice place but they're not a lot of people my age I have a feeling they all moved on to bigger and so called better things. So I know what I'll do Right now I am 13 years old I'm a little larger for 13-year-old they say and my body strengthening magic even though I have an awake in my magic attribute is actually pretty good so, that would be helpful if I do not waken my magic I can always be a warrior or soldier.
But if I do I think I still want to fight maybe not as a soldier but maybe as a mercenary or adventurer more freedom that way I'll just have to wait until to see what my magic is and pray that it's not f****** useless
