Chapter 1 - A Snake?!!

Whoosh.

A white figure plummeted rapidly down a sheer cliff!

Celeste opened her eyes and found herself in mid-air, plummeting straight down.

The intense feeling of weightlessness filled Celeste with panic!

"AHHHHHHHH!!!"

Can anyone tell her what is happening?!!

She simply gave a bad review to a stupid webnovel because it turned a non-harem novel into a harem novel, with the male protagonist marrying a total of 30 wives.

30!!! Can you believe that number?!!

That stupid author lied to her, claiming that there was no harem, but it turns out there was.

The only reason she spent so much money unlocking chapters of the webnovel was for her favorite female protagonist. But seeing her only favorite supporting character's screen time dwindling, she flew into a rage and started frantically typing, intending to write a 3000-word review.

But before she could even click "Publish", she was here.

But none of that matters. What matters is that she hadn't even clicked "Publish" yet!!!

She hadn't even had a chance to post that comment, and she is about to die.

Her heart was filled with tears, and just as she was preparing to accept her fate and embrace heaven, things changed.

"Ugh..." Celeste's head was spinning, and she felt the whistling wind in her ears disappear.

Huh? Why doesn't my body hurt? Is this what heaven feels like?

One second. Two seconds.

Nothing happened.

Then she suddenly felt something wrap around her body, and it was getting tighter and tighter, making it hard for her to breathe.

Celeste's eyes snapped open, and she found herself suspended in mid-air, her body wrapped around a thick snake!

Wait.

A snake?!!

She turned her head stiffly and met a pair of cold, snake-like eyes. Her body trembled, and she froze. It's actually a snake!

"Hiss~"

She felt the snake's head moving closer to her face, as if curiously examining her.

Or maybe it's just hungry and wondering where it should start eating from.

Maybe it could just swallow her in one whole so she doesn't have to feel the pain, she thought positively.

"Little female, don't pretend to be dead. You are the reason I was injured. How do you plan to settle this debt?" A cold male voice sounded in her ear.

Human?

Celeste opened her eyes and looked around, hoping someone would save her, but there was no one there.

Suddenly, she froze; the man's voice seemed to be coming from the snake in front of her.

Her clear eyes flickered with shock and uncertainty as she looked towards the green snake. "Was that you speaking?"

She couldn't actually understand the language the snake spoke in, but she didn't know why she could understand its meaning and even speak back.

The cold tip of the snake brushed across Celeste's pale face. "I'm the only one here, who else could it be?"

A shiver ran through her heart, and she felt goosebumps rising all over her skin.

A snake… that can talk? Don't tell me I have transmigrated, this is too dramatic! Is it really going to be so tragic?

"Let… let go of me!" She struggled to break free from the snake's tail.

Celeste suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to burst into tears. People who transmigrate usually come with a system and countless handsome men, but why is she facing a snake?

"Why do I have to let you go? You caused me to get injured, so as compensation, you will be my female from now on." It continued to speak.

What the hell is this snake saying?!!

"What female? Who is your female? I don't belong to anyone!" She looked at the snake cautiously.

"You have no choice. I saved you, so you belong to me, unless you'd rather face a pack of beastmen in this forest."

In Vorgrathen, there has always been an unwritten rule: any male who rescues a lone female in the forest can claim her as his mate, and the female has no right to refuse if she doesn't have a male mate. However, if the female already has a male mate, then the male must defeat at least one male mate in order to mate with the female.

If he throws her into the middle of the forest, then no one will be able to save her.

Celeste wanted to say she didn't need the snake's protection, but looking at the spooky forest and thinking about the large group of wild beasts that would appear as soon as the snake left, she kept quiet (╥﹏╥).

Seeing that Celeste no longer struggled, he happily led her back to his cave.

The snake-like eyes shivered, then a flash of white light streaked through, and a man with long, silky green hair landed on the ground.

Celeste witnessed the whole process; her eyes widened in shock.

No one can deny how handsome he looks. His figure was tall and agile, and he had waist-length green hair that was as smooth as vines deep in the forest. His cold and sharp snake eyes gleamed with an emerald green light, and his skin was smooth with a slightly scaly sheen, shimmering with a faint green hue in the sunlight.

Wait... is he a human or a snake?

On the way back, the snake introduced itself: "My name is Lucien. What's your name?"

Celeste didn't answer him, but instead asked, "Are you a snake or a man?"

A flicker of doubt crossed Lucien's cold, snake-like eyes. Why would the female not know that beastmen had two forms?

"I'm a beastman, a serpent-beastman," Lucien replied.

"Beastman…?" Celeste got confused. She has no idea at all which world she transmigrated to.

[N/A: Celeste never read these kinds of webnovels before. She likes reading novels in which the protagonist is overpowering.]

"Then where are we right now?" She continued to ask, hoping to get more information from him.

"...The forest of Vorrimfel. You don't even know this?" Lucien guessed she was a female from the main city, as only females from there would be so heavily protected that they knew nothing about other areas.

But he had never heard of such a beautiful female in the main city... In any case, now or even in the future, this female is his, and she would be his only female mate. He pulled her into his arms and said, "Even if you come from the main city, you are my female!"
