Chapter 22 - Chapter: The Queens' Plan

A year had already passed since the arrival of the newest member to the magical warlock's harem. The queens grew happier each day by their husband's side, but there was one significant difference: they were becoming stronger every day, or perhaps, they were finally beginning to reveal the true extent of their power.

As much as Kai could multiply into 119 clones to attend to each one of them, every clone represented a challenge—not just physically, but mentally. Kai was exceptionally intelligent and cunning. The economic plans they devised had already been anticipated by him; the projects they proposed for the kingdom's education were barely glanced at before he approved them, only for the queens to later find nearly identical projects already completed in his office or study center. It was difficult, even frustrating, for the queens to ever surpass him.

Faced with this, the queens devised a plan. They wondered if Kai could multiply and then unify. Aliarda asked Lyris: —"Lyris, you know how the system Kai uses works. Is it the same as the ability you had before? Multiplication and then unification?" —"Yes, but I no longer have that ability," Aliarda replied. "I had it because I had mentally bonded with Kai." —"In fact, I denied that ability within you," Lyris added. —"Then what can we do to become as similar or as powerful as Kai?" Aliarda asked.

The 119 queens were seated together in the great hall of the beach house, while the King performed his daily tasks governing his people. They were eating delicious chocolate desserts that Kai, their King, had ordered the palace chefs to prepare.

Lyris, being one of the most intelligent among them, said: —"I have known Kai since he was small. The only way to compare ourselves to him is to join forces." —"Increasing our ranks," Aurora suggested. —"It won't work with Kai. Even if we were a thousand or more than a thousand women, it wouldn't work against him," Anya remarked. —"Then what can we do?" Aliarda asked.

Aliarda explained what they could do, and while they talked, the others listened intently. —"What we can do," Aliarda said, "is unify ourselves just as Kai does." —"What do you mean?" Isabella, another queen, asked. —"That we all join together into a single woman." —"But that would leave us without an identity," Isabella objected.

—"No, it's not like that. Why do you think," Lyris intervened, "that Kai does not remain unified for long? It's not because of his power, his density, or his weight—even though he weighs a thousand tons right now. It's not that. It's because his power is so overwhelming that his body cannot sustain it for long. Kai evolves, but he trains very little. This means his body is not built for that power. That is why Kai multiplies: so he can have a life, not just with you, but with himself. If we want to approach the power our husband has, or be near him without having to strain ourselves so much with his clones, we must unify—even if only at night, or perhaps once a month."

The others looked at each other. Aqua, the queen of the water monarchy, asked: —"But wouldn't that be like all of us crowding into the mind of just one woman?" Aliarda replied: —"No, no one would disappear in the unification. But we would be one." —"And how would we do that? Because we don't all get along that well," said one of them.

Lyris spoke: —"The best solution is to form pairs among ourselves. Each will form a couple. The union must be in an even number. That way, we will avoid mental complexes when we unify into one." —"What do you mean?" asked Anya, the most intelligent. —"I mean that if we form pairs in groups of two, it will make Kai's task of attending to us easier, and it will also allow us to get to know each other better. We could rotate: one week one pair, another week another. We get to know each other, we talk," Lyris explained. "But remember: we are an odd number. We are 119. One is missing."

All the queens fell into thought. Anastasia, the queen of fire origin, said: —"If we want to survive the attempt of always being with our husband, we must do this. Remember this: Kai has never been unified with us. We have never touched his entire body. We have never touched the true Kai." —"Then what are we going to do?" Anya asked. "We have to find one more."

Isabella, the black witch, said: —"If we are going to look for one more, it must be someone like us. Most of us love him. If there were another who loved him, she would have appeared within a year." —"Yes," said Anya, one of the queens of the realm of knowledge, "but someone must appear who loves Kai as we do."

Lyris spoke again: —"According to the records I have of Kai, downloaded from his mind, there is no other woman in his life. In the academies where he studied, Kai always kept his distance from all women and made very few friends. There is practically no one else who can love him as we love him."

At that moment, Aliarda and Sara asked for everyone's attention. Sara said: —"Look, we will discuss the matter of the 120th queen later. But if we are going to form pairs and then rotate them, I suggest we form pairs without rotation." —"That isn't convenient," Lyris replied, "you won't all get to know each other." —"We know each other well enough," Aliarda said. "But if we form pairs—two women for one clone—that would reduce our physical toll when Kai has to attend to us. It's serious. We would attend to a single clone. And from what I've seen, Kai is no longer limited by a number; he can generate one less clone. That would allow us to connect more. I propose permanent pairs and asking Kai to give us just one clone for each pair. In daily life, we could ask for one each, but in bed, it would be better to attend to a single clone between two, for physical reasons. Many times, our bones have nearly broken. It will be better to attend to him in pairs."

Then one of them said: —"Yes, but if one is missing, someone will have to attend to a clone alone." At that moment, Aliarda and Hana stood up. Hana Sato—the dragon—said: —"I am the strongest. Aliarda and I are the strongest. One of us could be the candidate." Lyris said to Aliarda: —"Look, Aliarda, you will be paired with me because I don't have much compatibility with the others, so you won't be able to be alone."

They all looked at Hana Sato. The dragon princess said: —"Fine, I will take care of a clone by myself. But understand this: I don't want to wait long. I don't think it's fair for you to be in pairs while I am alone with Kai."

The Ultimatum and Kai's Response

At that moment, Kai entered the hall. The women presented the proposal to him immediately. Sara, the daughter of the Hero King, spoke on behalf of everyone. Kai was unified; he sat down calmly and said: —"Alright, Sara. I'm listening."

Sara got straight to the point: —"Look, we have a proposal. I know it will be difficult for you, but we want to add one more queen." Kai replied with confusion: —"I don't understand the necessity. I think it's already difficult enough for all of you to share me as it is." —"It's not a problem for us," Sara replied. "We just need to find one more queen to make it an even number."

—"I see," Kai answered. "I won't ask too many questions, but I am not interested in any other woman. It will be complicated, but fine. If you want to add one more…" Kai paused and continued: "But the rings I give you are magical. If I feel nothing for that girl, even if she wants me or loves me, the ring will not hold onto her hand and it will fall off. The same goes for you: if I love you and you do not love me, the ring will also fall. No one forces anyone to be here. This is not slavery. The ring only carries one curse: if you lie to me, cheat on me, or betray me, it will kill you instantly."

Kai pointed to his own chest: —"And, believe it or not, I do not wear a ring. What I wear is this blue necklace that you think only serves for teleportation. But no: as you can see, it has 119 jewels, plus the five blue crystals. Each crystal is the same color as your rings. I cannot wear rings because they would break in battle. So I use this necklace, which carries the same curse: if I cheat on you with another woman or prefer one above the rest, the necklace will kill me. Here, everything is equal. I love you with all my heart, but do not force reality. This is reality. I won't ask why you want one more queen, but we are under the same rules. I will not risk my life to bring in a woman who could kill me or hurt you. If that is your decision, I will respect it. That is all, Sara."

—"No, that's not all, Kai," she responded firmly. "Until the new queen appears, we will no longer have relations with you." —"Sexual relations? You won't make love with me anymore until the new queen appears?" Kai asked, incredulous.

They all lowered their gazes. Only Sara held his look. —"Yes, my love," she said. —"Fine. I will respect your rules. But many years could pass before a queen appears." —"I know," Sara replied, "but we have a problem within the harem and we must solve it."

—"Fine. I won't interfere in what is not my business," Kai stated. "But listen, my beautiful wives: I won't wait for you forever on this matter. I am a man and I have needs, and you are my wives. I will grant you your whims, but I'm telling you seriously: I will not let too much time pass."

Kai continued with a colder tone: —"For the time being, there will be no clones behind you. I will remain unified at all times, so do not worry. You will have to look after each other. And just so you know: since the clones will not be present, your trips to other cities are forbidden. You may only stay in this city. You cannot travel, you cannot leave the palace, and you cannot deal with anyone without informing me first. Is that clear?"

The daughter of the Demon King asked, annoyed: —"Why are you doing this?" —"You want me to follow your whims. You are taking away something that gives me life every day. I am taking away the freedom that I gave you myself. Everything is equal here. You take away what I love most at night; I will sleep alone, but so will you. I will respect your rules; you respect mine."

Lyris and Aliarda intervened: —"Fine, Kai. We will respect your rules. But listen: you will have nothing until the 120th queen appears. Do you understand?" —"Fine," Kai replied. "But listen: she will be the last. There will be no more queens. I don't want more problems in the harem or more games with you. Every week a new issue comes up. I don't know if you're bored, but there is always a problem."

Most of them began to protest. Lara, the elven sorceress, said: —"What do you mean there's always a problem with us?" —"Yes," Kai answered. "When it's not the end of the world, it's you forbidding me from coming near. If it's too difficult for you to be with me, tell me. I don't want you to suffer by my side, physically or psychologically, or for your hearts to be unwell."

The princess of the Kingdom of the Axe added: —"Don't be so exaggerated and dramatic. We are only asking for some time."

Since it was already night, Kai said he had to leave to attend to some things and would return later. The queens were left alone in the hall.

The Young Black Witch

While Kai's queens discussed marital problems, in the capital of the magical warlocks, a black witch began a journey toward the human kingdom alongside the hero of the sword and the half-wolf. Almost two years had passed since their arrival in the magical lands. They were now around twenty years old: the girl had just turned twenty, and the boys were nineteen.

They traveled by carriage through the land portals. As they moved forward, they could see the walls that had provided them protection and asylum for two years—ever since the day they had brought Aliarda, the little girl who became a great queen—fading into the distance. Now, these great adventurers and national heroes were answering the Hero King's urgent call to present themselves in the human realm.

The hero of the sword had spoken with Kai about this situation. The Warlock King had told him that he had the right to decide freely: he was a free man in those lands. The young man then announced that he would go to see his father, who was also the father of Sara, one of Kai's queens and the boy's sister.

Kai had responded to him: —"If you wish to see your father, go, my boy. We have done everything possible, and your sister is very worried about you because of this decision. But I spoke with her and told her that you are a man now; furthermore, the Hero King guaranteed your safety. He assured me that if you do not wish to stay in his kingdom, he will not force you. So, there is nothing to worry about."

Those were the words the young man remembered as he moved forward in the carriage. The journey was long, lasting about five days. Portal after portal, inns, a few drinks, laughter, and a couple of songs marked the path until they finally reached the human kingdom—one of the most powerful realms on the planet.

Upon arrival, the hero of the sword and his group—the black witch and the half-wolf—were received with great honors, as they were heroes of a magical land. They were led directly to the throne room, where the boy's father, the Hero King, received him with honors as well... and with an immense joy in his eyes. It had been so long since he had seen his son; a son who had not been officially recognized as a prince, for he was illegitimate, the son of a court knightess. But no one remembered that scandal anymore: the young man was now a national hero.

The first thing the Hero King did was thank them for coming. He told them that quarters were ready and that they would dine together that night, as there would be a great feast for their arrival. But first, he wanted to speak privately with his son.

The throne room was cleared, leaving only the King and the boy. At that moment, the hero of the sword realized something: in nineteen years of life, he had never had a true conversation with his father. The Hero King stepped down from the throne and asked his son to accompany him. They both went out onto the castle balcony: a towering and beautiful fortress, gargantuan, with large banners waving in the wind. The capital of the human kingdom stretched vast before them. Banners of the paladins were everywhere; it was a living city, a city that never slept.

The King said to him: —"I want you to see this. Do you see those lights?" —"Yes, King," the boy replied. He did not call him "father." —"I see those lights." —"Do not call me King, call me father," the man asked. "I know I abandoned you when you were small and never sought you out. And now I call for you... but it is not out of a lack of respect, nor because I never loved you. I always loved you, son. You are my only male son, besides your older brother. But I have had problems with your older siblings."

The boy asked: —"Why, father?" —"None of them want the throne," the King replied with sorrow. "Your older brother is too influenced by the life of the paladins. He wants to be the strongest paladin; he says a life as king is not what he seeks. I offered the throne to your oldest sister, the one married to the Hero Paladin. She said they would soon leave for the southern lands to live a quiet life as governors of one of our cities. They do not want a complicated life with the crown. And your other sister, the one who married the Warlock King... I cannot count on her either."

The Hero King sighed. —"And appointing your younger brother, a king far too young, would put his life in danger. Son, the only one left... is you."

The hero of the sword responded with doubt: —"But I am not worthy. I am not the son of the First Queen. And there are other heirs." —"Yes," said the King, "but none are old enough to take the throne. And your three older siblings are no longer here. You are the only one who can inherit the crown."

He said it with sadness in his eyes. —"But you are asking me for something the people will reject," the boy said. "And besides, there is the First Queen... that woman never accepted me." —"No," the King replied firmly. "She always looked after you. She cared for your mother and you all these years. We never left you alone. You went to a school for nobles because she herself paid for it. Your mother never lost her position in the knights' court because she defended her. She forgave my infidelity and never judged your mother. It was the people, the wagging tongues who criticized you. I know that everything you have lived through was my fault, son... but I ask you to forgive the people. Without a king, they are lost. Everything built by my grandfather, my father, and what is now in my hands... it will not last me a lifetime. I need you to help me."

It was the first time the boy heard that truth. He had always believed the First Queen hated him. He also believed his father did not want him. But in the King's eyes, he saw sadness, he saw exhaustion, and he saw reality: his older children had chosen different lives. Both daughters had married and left. The oldest heir, the strongest of them all, had chosen a life of sacrifice as a great paladin but would not take the crown.

And then the boy understood: the need to belong had been there his whole life. For the first time, he felt hope. A light. The possibility of embracing his father. And he did. He embraced him for the first time in his life. The boy said yes, that he would take charge. His father held him tightly, thanked him, and wept, asking for forgiveness for everything.

The Hero King, drying his tears, continued: —"Son... for this to be possible, you must marry the Third Princess of the kingdom of the High Humans. The only way for one of us to be king is for the queen to come from that country. Their king has already sent the letter of commitment for us to accept, but I have not responded yet. To become king, you must marry the third daughter of the King of the High Humans." —"Alright," the boy replied, "but I do not know her." —"I will announce that you are the new heir to the crown," the King explained. "You will travel to the kingdom of the High..."

The Departure and the Awakening of Reality

—"You will travel to the kingdom of the High Humans and you will live there with her. When it is time to return, you will come back with your wife. But listen: I am not asking you to leave for a long time. Only one year, two at the most. I need you to help me govern this kingdom."

The boy embraced his father again and told him that he accepted. Happy and relieved, the Hero King smiled: —"Then… let the festivities begin."

During that night there were celebrations, drinks, and conversations between father and son, as well as a great royal ball filled with nobles and citizens. Meanwhile, the young black witch and the half-wolf observed how their old friend and adventurer companion was surrounded by royalty. They felt, day after day, how he moved a little further away from the simple life they had shared. But they also understood that destiny, sometimes, took inevitable paths.

The three of them set off for the kingdom of the high humans, where they were received by the King, his sons, his daughters, and the queens who formed that large family. The hero of the sword knelt before the third princess, offering her his respects. With the ring his father had given him, he formalized the engagement in front of the entire court. There were applause and celebrations throughout the land: the union of two kingdoms had been sealed. Royal blood was intertwined once again, following the ancient custom of marrying their children to each other.

The young witch and the half-wolf watched from the crowd of nobles as their great friend was transformed, before their eyes, into one of the most powerful men on the planet. Each day they felt him further away. Days passed and the celebrations continued while the third princess and the young hero continued getting to know each other, adjusting to their new life together.

A small pain began to grow in the heart of the young witch, although she did not want to admit it: she had been in love during all that time with the hero of the sword, but her shyness had always prevented her from being able to say it. Six months had already passed, and both she and the half-wolf were beginning to feel out of place.

One day, the little half-wolf received a letter from the King of Cornillo, ordering him to return. Their customs were different, and upon returning, he would be married to one of the king's daughters, which would grant him a noble title and the position of governor of one of their cities. It was a tempting offer for him, a bright future opening up just for being a hero of the magical lands. The half-wolf spoke with the hero of the sword and with the young witch and told them he would depart for his kingdom, as there was a great promise waiting for him. They understood. The little half-wolf said goodbye to his lifelong friends and began the journey back to his home.

Meanwhile, the witch and the hero of the sword shared a couple of drinks, perhaps their last, now that their friend had already departed. The young witch spoke first: —"Listen to me… I know you have many things to do and I don't want you to worry about me. I will return to the magical lands." He looked at her surprised. —"Why? You have everything here. You will lack nothing as long as you are with me." —"Yes, but you already have a life here… and I must find my own path," she replied.

But before getting up, she added: —"I want to ask you a question." He nodded, without imagining anything. —"For about two years I have been feeling something in my chest… and now my heart hurts a lot." The boy looked at her without understanding, for to him she had always been a companion, a friend. The young witch took a deep breath, trembling a little. —"I want to tell you something that makes me very ashamed… but it would hurt me more not to tell you before I leave." —"What is it?" he asked. She closed her eyes for a moment and said it: —"I like you. I have been in love with you all this time."

For the hero of the sword, it was like a bucket of cold water. He had never imagined that this beautiful witch could feel something for him. —"I am flattered by what you say," he replied with sincerity, "but I don't want to hurt you." —"Why…?" she asked, her voice breaking. —"Because I don't see you that way. I see you only as my best friend."

Those words shattered the young witch's heart. —"Is it because of the princess?" she asked, trying to hold herself up. —"No… it's not because of the princess. But if I'm honest, I'm in love with her. I can't stop thinking about her for even a single minute," the young prince confessed.

The witch, with tears running down her face, told him: —"My prince… thank you for being honest. Although my heart hurts a lot, I feel an enormous relief for having told you. Now I can follow my path." —"Don't go…" he said, but without really knowing what else to say. —"There is nothing here for me anymore," she replied with deep sadness.

He remained in silence, looking at her. She turned around. It was as if two hearts had broken at the same time. A breeze moved the witch's cloak. The prince saw her walk away, knowing it was the last time he would see the woman who had always loved him. Before leaving completely, she turned slightly and said: —"Friend… don't misunderstand me. I will always love you. But as you said… as a friend."

She took a step back, went back to him and hugged him tightly, crying in his arms. He hugged her in silence, pained. —"I'm so sorry," he whispered. "But it's what I feel." She looked at him through tears, with a sad smile. —"It's not your fault. Thank you for everything."

And she withdrew, leaving behind what her heart had kept for years. From that moment, the young witch began the journey back to the magical lands. She was a girl of barely twenty years: a very beautiful black witch, too tall for her age, and people looked at her in the carriage as if she were any commoner… and, in reality, she was. She was the daughter of a disappeared warlock, of a mother who had abandoned her, and she had been raised by court nobles only for having been a friend of those nobles' daughter.

She remembered her childhood. She remembered her travels with her friends. And now, alone, she was under the protection of the White Warlock King. It was the only home she had left. The journey lasted four days. A journey she had to make… but did not want to make. She still did not accept the reality: that prince she had loved, that story she had invented for herself, did not include her. She was not the protagonist. She wasn't even an extra in that story.

The Dragon's Solitude

With great pain, remembering old moments, she finally arrived at the magical lands. She entered the grand mansion that the Warlock King had granted her and fell into a deep sleep on her bed, completely exhausted.

While the young witch slept, Kai's problems grew worse every day. Kai was young: he was no more than twenty-eight years old and did not age. But even being so strong, he had one major problem: he could not clone himself, for he had given his word to his queens. He had to attend to them personally and speak with them every single day. And although the queens had formed pairs, the only one without a partner was Hana Sato, the dragon princess turned into one of the White Warlock queens.

Hana —Ana Sato— was one of the strongest, comparable only to Aliarda. And although she lived with her husband all the time, she was not used to being with Kai all day long. She was used to living surrounded by her sisters… but now they were paired up and closer than ever. Being the odd one out, Hana had been left alone, isolated from the rest.

When they gathered to eat, most of them conversed with their partners. Kai observed this, uncomfortable but saying nothing. He tried to accompany Hana, who spent much of her time alone. During those six months, it had been very hard for her. Many times she would go to the beach alone and sit facing the sea, letting the wind move her beautiful hair while she watched from afar as the other queens socialized among themselves.

The "social experiment" organized by Queen Sara had worked… except for one grave consequence: they had isolated one of their own. This further complicated life for Kai, who had to attend to, listen to, and caress everyone without being able to clone himself. The day was simply not long enough for him.

The Harem's New Apprentice

In the midst of that chaos, Kai was called by Governor Alequei. His right-hand man said to him: —"My friend, the hero's comrades have returned to the country." Kai looked up. —"And what happened to the hero?" —"No, Kai," Alequei replied. "The only one who returned was the young witch. The half-wolf was appointed governor in his own country, in a northern city, and he married one of your sisters-in-law, the daughters of the King of the Fang." —"Ah… good for him," Kai said. "And the hero?" Alequei continued: —"The prince was named heir to the crown of the human kings. He has been betrothed to the third princess of the kingdom of the high humans. They will be married soon. I don't think he will return." —"I understand… I will send letters of congratulations," Kai responded. "And the young witch?" —"She returned. But the servants say they saw her looking quite sad. It must be because her comrades are no longer with her." —"Yes… it must be hard for her," Kai murmured. —"My King," Alequei continued, "she has requested an audience with you for noon." —"An audience with me?" Kai asked. —"Yes. She wants to speak with you." Kai sighed. —"Alright, I will wait for her. But I want you to do something: tell Queen Sato to come with me to the audience with that girl. I want her to be present." —"Very well, my King," Alequei replied. "I will summon her."

Alequei went to find Queen Hana Sato, who was alone, and summoned her to attend the audience. At noon, Kai was on his throne, unified, displaying great authority. The young witch knelt before him. Kai said to her: —"Do not kneel, girl." She stood up and said: —"My King, I need to ask you for something." —"Tell me, young witch," Kai replied. —"I need a magic teacher like you. I have learned many magics and I want to increase my power. I want to know if you, being the most powerful warlock in this nation, can teach me. I implore you."

Kai observed her intently. —"Alright… but wait a moment. I am waiting for someone. I will answer you then." At that instant, the entrance of Queen Hana Sato was announced. The beautiful dragon princess walked toward the throne. Kai looked at the beauty of his wife, then looked at the young witch, and wondered how neither the hero nor the half-wolf had noticed her. Hana took her place at his side. —"Why have you called me?" she asked. —"Wait a moment," Kai replied.

He then addressed the young witch: —"Listen, young witch. You asked me for a teacher, but I will be honest with you: I do not have magic. My strength comes from the physical and from technology. I have no magical powers to teach you. I could give you theory, but it wouldn't be of much use to you. I assume you have already learned enough on your own." The young witch lowered her gaze. —"Yes, my King… but I would really like to learn from your queens. Among them are great talents." —"I understand," Kai replied. "I haven't said no."

He turned to Hana: —"Hana, let me introduce you. She is the young heroine of our country." They greeted each other cordially. Kai continued: —"I have a proposal for you. But first, you must pass some tests. They are tests with the orbs of the Church. The priests who work with me will examine you in the cathedral. Depending on the results, I will give you my answer."

The young witch accepted. Alequei and some soldiers escorted her to the cathedral. Hana also accompanied her by Kai's order, though she didn't understand why. Kai had only told her: —"Do not leave her side. Stay by her at all times. If you have to take her hand, do it." Hana obeyed without asking questions.

The tests were long. When they returned to the palace, both were walking accompanied by Alequei and the governor, talking softly in the hallways. In the throne room, Alequei informed Kai: —"My lord, all the tests are ready." —"And the results?" Kai asked. —"The tests came back completely negative," Alequei replied. "The girl is pure from the tips of her toes to the top of her hair. Her heart calls for no one and her soul is clean. She has no demons, no curses, and no ill intentions."

Kai nodded. —"Perfect. No one must say a word about this. You have heard me," he said, looking at priests, cardinals, and nobles. Everyone bowed their heads. Then the queen and the young witch were announced and entered the room. Kai smiled. —"You have passed the tests," he said. The young witch nodded. —"Yes, my King." —"From now on… you will no longer call me 'my King'."

The girl was surprised. —"I can't… your name sounds wrong in my mouth," she said, turning completely red. Hana laughed softly. Kai continued: —"You will train, but with Hana, not with me." Hana stared at him, as if asking for explanations later. The young witch, excited, asked: —"Seriously?" —"Yes," Kai said. "And you will live in my house. I have already ordered your things to be moved from the mansion I gave you to the beach house, and also to the palace. Your belongings will be here. I will take them myself."

Kai became serious: —"Listen well, young witch. You may not leave the imperial zone without my permission. You may not speak with anyone without my authorization. You will only be with Hana. You will sleep in her room and she will be your teacher. If you have doubts about magic, you can also ask the other queens." —"Yes… my King," she said softly. "Why… do you do all this for me?" —"I don't do it for you," Kai replied. "I do it because you asked. Sometimes things are granted, sometimes they are not. This time you were lucky."

Hana affirmed: —"Yes, Kai. I understand." Kai added: —"From now on, you will be within the King's Harem. You do not belong to him, but you must follow his rules. In my harem, there are hierarchies." —"I will explain it to her," Hana said. —"Good," Kai replied. "Young witch, as of today, you are in my harem. You cannot leave without my permission." She lowered her head. —"I will obey."

Kai looked at her satisfied. —"Do you see, Hana? She obeys me." Hana looked at him as if she wanted to hit him: the queens never obeyed him. —"We will get along well," Kai said with a smile. "If you obey me, we will get along very well." Hana, serious, only said: —"Yes, my King." —"My queen," Kai said, "take your apprentice to the beach house."

At that moment, when Hana took the young witch's hand, the girl felt she never wanted to let go of the princess's beautiful white hands again. Both walked out through the imperial gate, a special gate that only Kai and his queens were allowed to use.
