It was noon when a dust coated white boy went home, with his black hair with that brownish dirt powder, and the white skin covered in mud, you can see a big white smile coming from those black eyes, it was Etheron the son of a poor baronet that was now retired of his knight duties due to a serious injury in his leg, their territory was small barely covering the small village they were in charge of growing, their house while bigger not much different from any other, but it didn't have to be since the people from that village always helped each other and loved the baronet family who didn't ask for any taxes and helped in the field. However, during the night a letter arrived from the Kirstein Royal family, Etheron looked in his dad's eyes, his face tired and expression pained with a faint smile towards his son, his intention to keep the sadness from the world away from his child but that's something only he would know, with the rough voice he maintained from his knighthood days he calls for Eleanor his beloved wife, her long black hair with hazel eyes appear from the bedroom as she asks:
Eleanor: Is there something that you need from me, my dear?
Reginald: I need to go to the capital...
Eleanor: But that means...
Reginald: yes.
Etheron was confused but because of his young age he could not have understood what was happening at that moment, after a few days his parents left for the capital and as they were leaving his dad said:
Reginald: Etheron now you are the person the people this people need, I know your destiny, and how great you will be.
Etheron: when will you be back?
Reginald: I don't know, but it will be alright, do not cry my child it will only make you suffer.
Etheron: I will be waiting, love you dad.
Reginald: I love you too.
As they depart Etheron goes inside and lays in the bed looking through the window, sometimes it is hard to know what people are thinking since it is so turbulent, he would roll around and then go run around the village, until he heard the village chief ask him:
Carmen: I saw your parents leaving in a royal carriage earlier, what is happening?
Etheron: I don't know, they didn't say anything.
Carmen: Did they say when they would be back?
Etheron: No.
Carmen: But what about you?
Etheron: They said the people needed me.
Carmen: But you are a kid!
Etheron: ...
Carmen: Sorry, I am just a little scared because they never did anything like that in the 4 years they have been here, I still remember when you were just a baby.
Etheron: Auntieeee!!!
Carmen: I know, I know... if you need to you can come sleep at my house, it should be safer that way.
Etheron smiled and hugged her sobbing, she hugged him and let him cry like a kid should, after a few minutes etheron thanks her and heads to the village central area and looks at the well and the kids playing nearby, he approached and called them.
Etheron: Hey guys...
Patrick: Hey Ether wanna come play with us?
Etheron: I do...
They play around the well for a few hours until the sun starts setting and the kids head home, Etheron conflicted heads to the village chief's house and knocks on the door and as Carmen opens the door she welcomes him inside:
Carmen: I don't have much but you can sleep on my spare bed, and there is some dinner in the stove if you want.
Etheron: Do you know when my parents will come back?
Carmen: They will be back when you least expect.
Etheron eats and heads to bed where he lays down and thinks about everything that happened that day. The next morning he sits on the fence and stares at the road for a few hours then heads to play with the kids, everyday waiting for his parents to be back.
