Moxi was truly at a loss regarding what the Three‑Tails had told her.
After all, where could a creature of such immense size possibly hide?
If there was any safe place for it, it wouldn't have been found this time around.
"Then what are we going to do?"
Moxi was genuinely worried for the beast — and the Three‑Tails could see that clearly.
So it suddenly suggested: "How about… you become my jinchūriki?"
"Huh?! What did you just say?!"
"You become my host. Seal me inside your body. That way, you can take me with you, and no one will ever find me again. I know for certain that you are different from all the others."
Moxi was stunned. She never expected it to come up with such an idea.
Here I am treating you like a pet turtle, caring for you… and you want to merge bodies with me?!
"No way! Absolutely not! I told you already — I'm a Cursed Spirit, not a human. Right now, I can barely take care of myself as it is! How could I possibly let you live inside me?!"
"Just try it. There's nothing to lose by trying."
"I said no! I'm leaving now."
Rejected once more, the Three‑Tails sadly sank half its head underwater, looking as pitiful as a turtle abandoned by its owner.
"Cut it out! That act won't work on me!"
"Fine… goodbye then. I just hope I can hold out until the next time we meet. Humans will never stop hunting me. Before long, I'll be captured and locked away in some dark, damp place… waiting for my jinchūriki to occasionally remember I even exist…"
Moxi gritted her teeth in frustration. "Fine! Will you give up on this idea if I try it once?!"
The Three‑Tails nodded its giant head eagerly.
"Then bring it on. I'll do it just so you'll let it go."
"Great! Here I come!"
"Hurry up and do it!"
"…"
"What's wrong now?"
"I'm waiting for you to start."
"Me start? Aren't you supposed to do it?"
The Three‑Tails recalled every time it had been sealed inside a human host. It said with absolute certainty: "If I remember correctly, it definitely starts with you. You use the sealing technique, I won't resist, and it'll be done in no time."
The Three‑Tails was very confident — it had plenty of experience being sealed, after all.
And so, the Cursed Spirit and the Tailed Beast just stared blankly at each other.
"Sealing technique? I don't know any!"
"…I don't know how either. I'm always the one getting sealed. I have no idea how to go inside voluntarily."
Great. Just great.
"See? It's not that I don't want to help — I really can't. You'd better go find somewhere else to hide quickly."
"…Alright."
The Three‑Tails lay flat on the water's surface, looking utterly dejected.
Moxi walked away and climbed onto the shore. It remained exactly as it was.
Sigh…
Moxi couldn't help but let out a long sigh. Then she suddenly turned back and shouted: "Does anyone here know a sealing technique?!"
Everyone shook their heads. Shinji, who was carefully putting away the Regenerative Core, asked: "Why?"
Moxi didn't hide anything and told him exactly what had just happened.
"That's ridiculous. A Cursed Spirit becoming a jinchūriki? That's impossible!"
Shinji rejected the idea immediately.
It's just nonsense. Like a never‑ending loop.
"You think so too? Fine then, forget it."
But just then, Shinji thought of something. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Do you really want to take it with you that badly?"
"I just feel sorry for it… yeah, I want to take it with me. Is there any way to do it?"
"Well… there is one method. But think carefully before you decide. Taking that thing with you will bring you endless trouble. There will be people coming after it non‑stop."
"I'm not afraid!"
"Well, I am!"
The two stared intensely at each other again.
"You know exactly how much I hate trouble. So… you have one minute to convince me. Otherwise, we're forgetting this ever happened."
"59… 58… 57…"
Shinji began counting slowly. Meanwhile, Moxi bit her lower lip and looked back at the Three‑Tails, still waiting for her out on the lake.
"HEY! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!"
Moxi suddenly yelled at the top of her lungs.
"Isobu."
The Three‑Tails answered immediately, its voice filled with hope.
"Isobu… what a weird name."
Moxi muttered to herself, then turned back to Shinji, who was still counting away calmly.
"Help me take it with us. From now on, I'll listen to everything you say. No more arguing, no more bargaining. And whenever we're in danger, Isobu will be there to help us too."
"DEAL!"
Shinji broke into a wide grin.
You bastard…
"Now what do I do?"
"Enter your merged form, then leave the rest to me."
Moxi didn't ask any further questions. She stepped forward and dissolved directly into Shinji's body.
Instantly, the aura emanating from Shinji began to surge upward.
If there had been a power‑level meter nearby, the numbers would have been seen climbing faster and faster, soaring higher and higher.
In this merged state, Shinji had access to every Cursed Technique they both possessed, plus certain unique abilities exclusive to their combined form.
And one of those abilities was exactly what he needed right now.
"Human! What do you think you're doing?!"
The moment Shinji approached, Isobu shifted into a defensive, ready‑to‑attack stance.
If it wasn't for Moxi, it probably would have already struck.
"Moxi begged me to help you and take you away. So I'm here to try."
"You… you want to become my jinchūriki too?"
"No. That's not what I have in mind. I'm going to take you with me in a different way. It's up to you whether you accept it or not."
Isobu hesitated. It didn't know if it could trust this human.
Just then, Moxi's voice echoed out from within Shinji's body.
"Even though he's an arrogant jerk, he's still a hundred times better than the humans who attacked you. If you trust me… let him try. Of course, you can still say no. I won't blame you."
"…Alright. Do it. What do I need to do?"
Isobu decided to take the gamble. After all, even if it turned out to be a mistake, it would just end up back where it started.
It could wait a few decades… or a hundred years… it would eventually regain its freedom again.
"For now, do nothing. Just relax and don't resist."
"…I'll try my best."
"The answer I want to hear is 'I will'. Because if you resist… the one who suffers will be me… and Moxi."
Isobu fell silent for a moment. "…Fine. I understand."
Shinji nodded slightly and said no more. As he released a massive amount of Cursed Energy, the faint, translucent silhouette of a tree flashed briefly behind him.
Hardly anyone noticed the sight, and even if they did, no one knew what it meant.
"Tailed Beast Curse Art — Return to Origin!"
A beam of greyish light instantly connected Shinji to Isobu. The Three‑Tails felt its power draining away rapidly, and its massive body began shrinking at high speed.
It almost fired a Tailed Beast Ball straight at his head.
But the thought of hurting Moxi stopped it. It forced itself to endure the sensation, letting everything that made it it fade away.
Shinji was extracting Isobu's very essence — much like how the Gedo Statue pulled Tailed Beasts out of their hosts.
The only difference was: in Shinji's right hand, an egg began to form. It was covered in mysterious patterns and colored exactly like the armor on Isobu's back.
