Night fell. Inside the bathroom of the Kamitani residence, Yuu soaked his weary body in warm water, letting out a long sigh of relief.
"Finally, the preparations are almost complete. Tomorrow, we can carry Goldie away."
As he watched the rising steam, his thoughts drifted. After forming the alliance with Irisviel in the afternoon, he had accompanied Karen and Sakura until dusk, returning Karen to Kirei Kotomine before bringing Sakura home. Since then, he had been non-stop, coordinating strategies with the various Masters. The frantic pace made him joke to himself that if this continued, he might end up like the Wise King (Caster Gilgamesh) and die of overwork.
However, recalling the recent discussion, Yuu knit his brows. When Iskandar proposed a banquet to lure out Archer, Irisviel had proactively offered the Einzbern castle gardens as the venue. This over-eager attitude, combined with Emiya Kiritsugu's ruthless methods, suggested a clear ambush was in the making.
Yuu stood up, dried himself, and changed into loungewear. With Sakura asleep and Odin stationed beneath Ryudou Temple, the mansion was silent. He pushed open the French doors and sat cross-legged on the wooden veranda.
Condensing pale blue prana at his fingertips, he inscribed an ancient, mysterious Rune. As his Magic Circuits accelerated to full capacity, he began drawing massive amounts of Mana from the atmosphere.
"Then let me see exactly what will happen tomorrow night."
Yuu's pale gold eyes suddenly ignited with a brilliant luster. This was the "Rainbow-rank Mystic Eye," an existence that stood outside the normal hierarchy at the very pinnacle of Mystic Eyes.
History had seen Balor's "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception" and the Moon King's "Eyes of the Moon," but Yuu possessed the "Mystic Eyes of the Future," capable of both predicting and rewriting the future. Though currently limited by his prana reserves—preventing him from rewriting world lines at will—glimpsing fragments of the future was well within his reach.
Zzz—
A sharp pang of pain shot through his mind as fragmented images began to surface: a boundless desert, raging torrents, a fleeting flash of starlight... Finally, the vision settled on a courtyard. He and the others appeared in the center, but an ominous crimson glow lit up from a corner, sweeping toward them—
The vision snapped shut. Yuu jerked his eyes open, rubbing his aching sockets with a heavy heart. The cost of this prediction far exceeded anything in the past, and the result felt strangely distorted, as if someone had interfered mid-glimpse.
I'll need to make extra preparations for tomorrow, he thought grimly.
Meanwhile, within the Tohsaka estate.
"To think I would encounter 'him' in this era... this performance has become quite a bit more interesting."
Gilgamesh swirled his wine, a subtle smirk playing on his lips. Ever since their last clash, that inexplicable sense of familiarity—and the way the Chains of Heaven (Enkidu) acted on its own to protect the man—had piqued his interest.
To that end, the King of Heroes had gone as far as unsealing "The Star That Sees All (Sha Naqba Imuru)." Combined with his A+ Rank Clairvoyance, he had peered through layers of mist and parallel world lines until he finally caught a trace of that man's trail.
Though the future of this particular world seemed temporarily shrouded in a fog even he couldn't fully pierce, the unknown only fueled his enthusiasm.
"O Great Hero of God-Slaying legend, come then—dance to your heart's content and entertain this King! Hahahaha—!"
His wild, manic laughter echoed through the hollow room for a long time before finally fading away.
