Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Spider-Man's Memories

Just then, May Parker also came out with coffee and tea.

"MJ is right, Penny used to spend all her time in the lab back then."

She smiled, glancing at Penny: "Until certain things made her start paying attention to her appearance."

Penny put her hand to her forehead.

She knew exactly what May Parker was referring to because it was so memorable.

It was the first time she had tried a new hairstyle for MJ, only for her hair ends to be singed by chemical reagents in the lab.

"I remember that day," MJ also recalled instantly.

She sat on the sofa, her long legs crossed: "You came to school with burnt, black hair and insisted it was a new style."

Natasha chuckled, looking at Penny meaningfully: "Sounds interesting."

"It wasn't interesting at all," Penny pursed her lips.

May Parker gave everyone a cup and let them pour what they wanted to drink.

"Natasha, what do you do for work?"

"I'm currently... a security consultant," Natasha elegantly poured tea and picked up her teacup: "I often need to travel for work."

"That sounds exciting," MJ said, her gaze lingering on Natasha: "Much more interesting than being an extra in a theater."

Penny noticed MJ's gaze and picked up a cookie.

Natasha asked curiously: "Is your goal to be a famous actress?"

MJ was a little embarrassed: "Because I was a part-time model in high school, I decided to try to get into acting."

"Personally, I really like this job, even though I'm still just a small role right now."

Penny offered dry encouragement: "I believe one day you'll become an excellent actress."

"Thank you," MJ poured herself some coffee: "Speaking of Penny."

"Do you still remember Spider-Man who often appeared in our high school?"

Her question made Penny's heart beat fast: "I don't really remember."

"Spider-Man?" Natasha looked at Penny with a smile in her eyes. He's right here, isn't he?

She picked up a cookie with interest.

Seeing that someone was interested in the topic, MJ began to share some stories about Spider-Man from high school.

"Yes, Spider-Man, the friendly neighbor of Queens, protected the community and fought crime."

"Before, whenever there were fires, robberies, kidnappings, and so on, he would quickly arrive at the scene, resolve the crisis, and then quickly leave."

"No one knows who he is or where he came from," she spread her hands.

Her tone was full of enthusiasm for Spider-Man: "I was also once saved by Spider-Man."

"But he disappeared without a trace two years ago."

MJ opened her phone's forum, where many fans were still discussing: "We've been following him."

Penny was somewhat annoyed by the mention of Spider-Man: "Society is becoming safer and safer now."

"And Iron Man appeared a few days ago, just in time to replace Spider-Man," she said expressionlessly.

Mary Jane shook her head and said seriously: "Spider-Man cannot be replaced."

"MJ is right," May Parker also strongly agreed... Spider-Man.

— Yes, the Spider-Man they were talking about was me.

— Please forgive every teenager's dream of being a hero.

By now, MJ and Natasha had already left.

Penny returned to her room; although no one lived there, May Parker still kept it very clean.

She pulled open the treasure chest hidden under the bed, which contained a black and white Spider suit.

She hadn't touched it since graduating from college.

She touched the fabric of the suit.

In fact, when they said Penny spent all her time in the lab, it was precisely because she was researching and designing this suit.

Her burnt hair was also because she accidentally touched it while doing fire resistance tests.

It's just that as her powers grew, the time she spent acting as a vigilante gradually decreased.

Penny couldn't add to the burden of May Parker, who raised her alone, so she tried to focus her time on working and studying.

— Speaking of MJ, she was my Sun throughout middle school and high school.

— When everyone else mocked me, only she was willing to be my friend.

— But at the same time, I also clearly remember before graduating high school...

— I gathered all my courage and confessed to MJ.

— She said: "I'm sorry, Penny, I don't dislike you, and I have good feelings for you, but I'm not sure if I like girls."

And then... there was no then.

She once saw Harry Osborn on a date with her, and MJ was busy explaining that it wasn't what Penny thought.

But it didn't matter how she explained it; perhaps they would be a very loving couple.

Penny pushed the treasure chest back, as she no longer had feelings of love for MJ, only a little sigh for her own first crush.

— Then high school passed, and I went to college, where I met a girl named Gwen Stacy.

— She was pure, smart, kind, and humorous.

— Because she was so wonderful, I never confessed to her.

— After all, the social atmosphere at that time was not yet widely accepted, so I didn't want her to bear those burdens.

— Of course, the biggest possibility was also that I was afraid of being rejected again.

— Later she died, right in front of me. Every movement, detail, pore, and expression before her death...

— I remember every single one clearly. I couldn't save her.

— There was never another chance to confess.

— I only knew her for a short three years, but I will remember her forever.

Penny cut off her memories, patted her cheeks, and composed herself.

"Listen, Penny! You still need to figure out how to consume the energy in your body!"

In the evening, May Parker called Natasha over for dinner, knowing she lived alone.

"It's just cooking for one more person, it's not difficult at all!"

When Natasha politely declined, May Parker's enthusiasm made it impossible for her to refuse.

Penny secretly smiled, May Parker is hard to deal with, isn't she, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent!

The Red-haired Agent noticed her small action, but whispered: "You won't be smiling in a moment."

"Why?" Penny stopped smiling.

"I guess you haven't had dinner with your May Parker in a long time, have you?" Natasha asked back, sitting at the dining table.

At her words, Penny suddenly remembered that it seemed she had rarely had dinner with May Parker since going to college.

Firstly, she lived in the university dormitory, and secondly, she was busy with her studies.

The Agent smiled faintly: "I saw the groceries May Parker bought."

Just then, May Parker came out with three plates of spaghetti: "I don't know if I cooked too much, I hope you can finish it!"

Penny felt as if she had been struck by lightning because this spaghetti... wasn't even enough to fill her teeth!

"I'm on a diet, let Penny eat more," Natasha thoughtfully gave her a little extra from her plate.

"Okay, okay, okay!" Penny gratefully accepted it.

May Parker looked surprised, seeing Penny like a starving ghost, and also shared some of her portion with her.

"Then you eat more."

But even so, this amount was just a sip of Water for Penny, gone as soon as she swallowed it.

After dinner, Penny washed the dishes and expressed her desire to go out to buy some things.

Natasha happened to have the same idea, so she followed her out.
