Draven woke up to someone shaking him.
"Get up get up get up—"
"What the—" He jerked awake. *Thump.* Nearly fell out of bed. "Seraphina? What—"
"It's happening. The leak. House Brennan." She was already dressed. Hair done. Eyes bright. Excited? No. Satisfied. "Father says come downstairs now. Everyone's losing their minds."
"What time is it?"
"Six. Doesn't matter. This is—you need to see this."
She practically dragged him out of bed. Draven stumbled after her. Still in sleep pants. No shirt. Hair probably looked like shit. Down the hallway. *Tap tap tap tap.* Her footsteps fast. His trying to keep up.
Duke Valerius's study was chaos.
Three advisors already there. Newspapers everywhere. *Rustle rustle rustle.* Crystal balls showing different locations in the capital. One advisor was yelling into a communication device. Another was scribbling notes so fast the pen was smoking.
