Chapter 98 - Chapter 98 — Fortifying the Forest

The forest stretched under the Blood Moon, silver light glinting off the leaves and stones. Shadowfang wolves moved with precision, setting traps, fortifying defensive positions, and practicing coordinated maneuvers. Guardians of silver, bronze, and ethereal forms patrolled alongside them, their presence a powerful deterrent to lingering shadows.

Nyra stood atop the central ridge, silver chains coiling around her arms as she surveyed the preparations. Kael's golden Alpha energy flared beside her, scanning the perimeter.

"This is more than a defense," Nyra said, voice steady. "We are sending a message. Shadowfang will not cower. We are united, and every corner of this forest is prepared. The shadows must know — they will face our strength and our strategy."

Kael growled low, eyes glowing gold. "Every warrior has a role. Every guardian has a task. Every trap, every spell, every scout… they all matter. Shadowfang fights as one, and nothing will break this line."

The guardians demonstrated abilities long forgotten to the mortal world:

Silver guardians could extend lunar chains, strengthening Nyra's control over the Blood Moon energy.

Bronze guardians wielded fire and earth, fortifying traps and creating walls of flame that could deter or destroy incoming shadows.

Ethereal guardians could phase through the forest, scouting enemy movements and relaying intelligence instantly.

Fenrir coordinated Ashfang warriors alongside Shadowfang, ensuring communication and timing were flawless. "Every flank is covered," he reported. "The forest is ready for the first wave of attack. But the shadows will test us — we must remain vigilant."

Night deepened, and the Blood Moon rose to its zenith, silver light bathing the forest. Nyra and Kael stood at the forefront, chains and flames coiling in unison, the guardians forming an unbroken perimeter.

A distant ripple of dark energy shivered through the northern ridge — a warning of the shadow forces gathering. Nyra clenched her fists. "They're coming. Soon. But we are ready. Every wolf, every guardian, every ounce of power — we will not fall."

Kael's golden eyes blazed. "Shadowfang endures. Let them come. We will fight, and we will prevail."

The forest seemed to hold its breath as the first signs of the approaching shadow army appeared: flickers of crimson eyes, twisted shapes moving in the distance, and the pulse of dark energy growing stronger with every heartbeat.

The pack and guardians braced themselves, ready for the onslaught. Shadowfang's unity, strategy, and magic were about to be tested like never before.
