"Hmm". An oldman hummed, while bashing his elbow against a flimsy branch.
'Didn't hurt one bit'? He thinks in confusion. He does this another few times, behind him laid a graveyard of fallen branches.
The makeshift path had been formed, in front of him he saw the two children, gathering things.
He shouts.
"Adam, we are moving, we have found a much more favourable place, take what is needed, I'll return within minutes with the young lad Leon.".
Having heard Renard voice, he turns his head in the direction, quickly processing the words he replies.
"Okay". He was currently weaving a small basket.
Hearing the reply, Renard walks the path he made.
"Boy, girl, pick the fibres u have woven and place them on this". He lays a flat half finished branch bag down. Knowing what to do they lay the children lay the fibres upon it.
Adam smiles, at the smartness of the children.
'They have adapting". He thinks to himself.
-Renards return-
Leon has just thought of nonsense.
"What are are you two doing?". Renard says without much thought.
"Bah". In shock Leon jumps in fright, not expecting Renard so soon
Ignoring Leon's fright he walks to them.
"I have told them that we are moving to the clearance we have found, come help me guide them". He asks Leon, knowing he wants to talk more with him.
Dale knowing that he will stay remains still and allows them to leave.
"How were your last moments?". Renard asks Leon, hearing this Leon immediately stopped in his tracks.
"I would rather not say". He says scratching the back of his neck.
'So he did die'. Renard confirms suspicion.
"Do you want to know mine?" Renard knowing he needs to switch the conversation only a little says. Leon nods.
The nervousness in his tense face eased.
"Sure". They continue their walk.
Renard sighs.
"It was dream come true, the perfect death". He says, his eyes stared forward with remanicance.
"It still feels like it just happened, my whole family surrounding me, love was the last thing I felt before I fell, maybe raised to this place." He tells Leon.
Leon carefully listened.
'I am glad he got a good death'. Leon thought, knowing the pain of being beaten to death, his might have been quick too, but he was alive long enough to feel the true pain of the crazy man's actions.
"I'm jealous, that's pretty amazing, to have your whole family with you, you must have been very influential, you most definitely still are". Leon says with humor and seriousness,
Still trying to clear his nervous heart.
They continue their walk, Renard had chose to remain quiet, only just realising that Leon must have had a really tragic death.
As they stepped through the unknown forest clouds simmered in the sky, a spring rain started to fall.
The beauty of the sene caused both of them to stop, they beauty of the forest was enhanced by an uncounterable multiplier.
The rain drops landed on tree leaves and magestic flowers the reflectiveness of the water drops made the vibrant colours of each plant bless the eyes of the on looker.
A sene that would normally only be seen by the most adventurous of people if this was earth.
The mood had been lifted once more.
"Wow, this is most definitely other worldly"! Leon couldn't help but mutter, having barely left the house he had never seen even the most simple bits of nature, but thanks to his resurrection in this other plane, he had now just seen something, he would probably normal think to be a dream.
Tears whept out of Renards eyes, allowing him too to come to a conclusion that this is definitely not the afterlife.
Why would rain appear to those who have died.
'We are alive.' Renard now only realising, having only done all this for the children, is now fully aware that they are not within some dream Plane, this is a real planet.
"Lets focus". Rubbing his forehead Renard quickly spoke.
Listening Leon remains quiet and follows the swifter moving Renard.
Now having a stronger force within himself, Renard perceiving things differently and more reality based.
"It's good to know you are with us". Leon suddenly says, the small rain allowed him to have a deep thought, distracting him from the chaos deep within his unsteady mind.
Renard couldn't help but smile.
'Not just for the kids, but for those who only know little too'. Affirming himself he gains another form of confidence.
They arrive at their birthplace.
They were ready to move, both the kids held in both their hands, sticks and woven fibre, while Adam held a half done basket within it were most of the half crafted utilities he had made for basic convenience.
"Let's head out". Adam tells the children, seeing Leon and Renard they are all ready to follow, Adam had gained the respect of these children quite quickily.
Seeing the readiness, Leon only gestures a head nod.
They swiftly arrive to the clearing.
"Place stuff down and I'll show you where the pond is, Leon stay here with the children, I'll return with Adam and Dale as soon as possible". Renard stands infront of Leon.
After telling Leon this, he guides Adam to the pound.
Leon who hadn't talked much with the kids was confused at their stares.
"Hello!". He says waving at both of them, they give a wave in return.
The girl walks to him, no nervousness in sight.
"Hello mister, your name is Leon right?" She asks with respect.
Leon smiled and crouched to meet the little girl.
"Yes you are right, my name is Leon!, what is yours?" He asks her.
"Me!, I am Ashley!". She says with abundant enthusiasm, her happiness was somewhat unusual, Leon chooses to see it as a good thing.
"Haha, hello Ashley, has Adam been kind?". Leon asks.
Hearing Adam's name brought a sparkle to her eyes.
"Yes, he is really kind!". She says smiling.
Leon nods.
-POV change-
I nod kindly at Ashley's remark of Adam. 'It seems he is a good man'.
Having only just arrived, Adam had only placed his stuff down randomly, we should really clean things up.
Adam's basket blocked some of the entrance, I'll move it closer to the hedges on the furthest left.
Hours passed, the sky now looking starry.
Yawn*
"Hmhaa" the young girl yawns, having walked a longer than usual amount while carrying stuff she was half asleep, Adam didn't distribute any jobs to the kids once they arrived at their now safe place.
"Feeling sleepy, you can sleep don't worry too much, look over there". He points to a snoring young boy. "Jacks asleep, you can join him". He says as he rubs her hair, Adam is clearly very well connected to these kids.
Jack was lying on a woven bed made of sticks with gathered leaves as a makeshift mattress, there was another one close by, it was Ashley's .
"Okay!". Ashley listening to Adam runs to her place of slumber, I sit on a small stubbed rock.
I look up, my eyes reflect the visible stars, a cosmic map of the world, swirling galaxies and enormous nebula.
"Visible from here?". I question to myself the sky must be a painting, no way.
The swirls of purple and hollow twilight of the stars brings a rising strength to me, something I have never felt.
'I should have left the house more'. I think to myself refusing to not palm my face in disappointment, wanting to stare at this amazingness for longer.
Without realising it, Adam was behind me.
"It's time for us to slumber too, Renard and Dale have also entered the world of dreams". Adam tells me, thanks to the at peace feeling I had felt time zoomed.
"Okay, nothing dangerous seems to be about, no people either, let's both sleep too". Adam nods at what I said.
'It's cold' I think while I move to the spot I had chosen earlier.
I lay down and close my eyes, ignoring the cold, only picturing the horrible memories that had resurfaced.
I am unable to sleep.
