Chapter 1: A Chance Encounter
Emma hurried through the crowded streets of New York, her headphones in, blocking the noise of the bustling city. She barely noticed the people brushing past her until she collided with someone, and her coffee splashed all over her bag.
"Oh no! I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, fumbling to clean herself.
"It's alright," said a calm, warm voice. She looked up and met the eyes of a tall man with a kind smile. "I should have been paying attention too."
He handed her some napkins and laughed lightly. Emma noticed a spark in his eyes that made her heart skip a beat.
For a brief moment, the noise and chaos of the city seemed to vanish. She didn't know why, but meeting him felt important, almost as if fate had quietly arranged this encounter.
Before she knew it, he asked, "Coffee?" Emma blinked. "Yes… I'd like that." And just like that, a chance meeting turned into a beginning neither of them saw coming
