Chapter 7 - Chapter: 7

Chapter Title: Starting Dungeon

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Jeon Yeol headed straight for Yong-sik's office.

It was to stop him before he could pull any nonsense on Ji-woo's family.

To the fresh-faced punks who'd just emerged onto the scene, Yong-sik was someone with real clout.

But the true gangsters who ruled Chuncheon's underworld saw him as a joke.

It wouldn't be until three years later that Yong-sik could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the real heavyweights.

This year, he'd make a killing by snapping up shares in Kai Motor Company.

With that money, he'd buy up the cheap party land in Sinbuk-eup for a song.

A year after that, as he broke ground on a pension resort there, a hot spring burst right out of the ground.

It was like chasing a cow and accidentally catching a rat.

Yong-sik struck it rich overnight, using his massive newfound wealth to build up his gang.

In the end, he became the boss of a pretty influential outfit in Chuncheon.

But what good did that do?

The organization he'd built up with such hardship enjoyed its glory for exactly three years before everyone got wiped out by the alien races.

For now, though, he didn't even have ties to the other gangs—in fact, he'd pissed them off.

It was only natural; a half-assed crew like his dipping into loan sharking.

Long story short, if Jeon Yeol thoroughly crushed Yong-sik's gang, there'd be no backlash.

He was confident he could handle Yong-sik's crew all by himself.

There were six guys holed up in the office, including Yong-sik himself.

His gang totaled nine, but three were usually out handling external jobs.

The Mirae Lending office was on the third floor of a rundown building in Chiljeon-dong.

A single taxi pulled up in front of the building, and Jeon Yeol got out.

He took big strides and reached the office door on the third floor in one go.

He had no plan or strategy for dealing with Yong-sik's gang.

He'd just charge in with his bare hands.

Jeon Yeol kicked the door with all his might.

But just as the tip of his foot was about to connect, a brilliant light exploded from the door.

Flash!

"Ugh!"

Jeon Yeol threw up a hand to shield his eyes and hastily backed away.

'Did that bastard Yong-sik catch on?'

It felt like he'd anticipated Jeon Yeol's arrival and set some kind of trap.

Jeon Yeol clenched his fist and thrust it forward, glaring fiercely.

But then.

"Huh?"

In place of the vanished light, it wasn't Yong-sik's gang that appeared—it was a vast white expanse.

"What the...?"

Jeon Yeol looked behind him, checked left and right, then up and down—and freaked out.

The place was literally nothing but white.

There was no boundary between ground and sky.

It was all just white, top to bottom.

It felt like he was floating aimlessly in a pristine white universe.

At that moment, a stunning woman in a golden dress appeared before Jeon Yeol.

"...!"

A person materializing out of thin air where nothing had been left him stunned.

But he quickly composed himself.

In the future, there had been ability users who wielded powers like invisibility or spatial jumps.

Thinking of that, there was no real reason to be shocked by what was happening now.

"Pleased to meet you."

The words that flowed from the woman's lips were in a language utterly unfamiliar, one he'd never heard before.

Yet astonishingly, Jeon Yeol understood her perfectly.

He almost returned the greeting without thinking, but then he looked closely at her face and his breath caught in his throat.

Of course, her beauty was lethally captivating, enough to stop any man's heart.

Petite, refined features, porcelain skin, and a graceful jawline.

But that wasn't why Jeon Yeol's breath had hitched.

'That face...'

How could he ever forget?

It was the face that had hovered in the skies, observing Earth, for the eight days leading up to the alien invasion of the planet.
