Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: victory

It was the first time George noticed something unusual about Harry. He looked around and quickly realized that Professor Quirrell was casting a spell on Harry's broomstick.

George was too far away to stop him, so all he could do was watch as Snape drew his wand nearby and helped Harry resist the spell. George also drew his wand, joining in to suppress the curse, preparing to cast a Floating Charm the instant Harry fell off the broom.

With George's assistance, Harry gradually regained control of his body. An uncomfortable sensation gripped him like a net, restraining his limbs, like shackles preventing movement, a massive weight pressing down on him so he could barely breathe.

He felt his chest tighten, sensing his own breath, the flow of magic within him, and the chains of the evil curse. He yearned desperately to break free.

"Demacia!" Harry roared, breaking the shackles, tearing through the net, and lifting the immense weight.

He quickly dove toward the ground, covering his mouth with both hands as if he might vomit. He landed steadily, coughing, and a golden object fell into his hand. He gripped it tightly.

"Demacia!" Harry shouted, raising his hands high. Then he cried out again: "I caught the Golden Snitch!"

The match was over, and the Slytherin players were still scrambling to recover from their defeat.

"He almost swallowed the Snitch! That's not legal," Flint grumbled, irritated. He wondered why when he first knocked Harry off the broom, the outcome hadn't been the same—Slytherin could have won.

But Harry hadn't broken any rules. Gryffindor had easily won the Quidditch match, and the score was decisive.

Harry looked exhausted and didn't join the post-match celebration. Everyone headed to Hagrid's hut, where he brewed a strong pot of tea.

"It was Snape," Ron said angrily. "Hermione and I saw it. He was casting a spell on Harry's broom!"

"Nonsense!" Hagrid refused to believe it. He only knew how to watch the game, nothing about the stands. "Why would Snape do that to Harry?"

Harry looked around and decided to tell Hagrid the truth. "I discovered something about Snape. On Halloween, he was bitten by the three-headed dog. We suspected he wanted to steal the guardian dog behind that moving door."

"Where did you know about Fluffy?" Hagrid asked, astonished.

"Fluffy?" Harry asked.

"I raised him. I bought him from a Greek wizard last year. I lent him to Dumbledore to guard important things," Hagrid explained.

"What?!" Harry exclaimed.

"That's none of your business. It's top secret," Hagrid snapped, cutting Harry off.

"But Snape would definitely steal it," Harry persisted.

"Nonsense!" Hagrid looked furious. "Snape is a Hogwarts teacher. He would never do that."

"Then why did he try to kill Harry?" Hermione asked angrily. She had seen Snape casting spells at Harry from the stands and rushing to stop him. She had completely lost trust in Snape.

"Some teachers at Hogwarts want to kill Harry. That's for sure, and maybe it's more than one," George said, adding another detail. "When I was up in the stands helping suppress the curse, I sensed two magical forces."

"You're all wrong," Hagrid said, a little annoyed. "I don't know what happened to Harry, but Snape is definitely not the culprit. You should leave this alone. It's none of your business. Forget about it. Forget what the dog is guarding. It's dangerous. This is between Professor Dumbledore and Nicolas."

"This also involves a man named Nico May," Harry said, still troubled. He had almost died today. He had long disliked Snape, and Ron and Hermione had seen it. But Hagrid was stubborn, trusting only Snape.

As he left, Harry thought for a moment and said, "It must have been Snape."

"Yes, we all saw him. Snape muttered the spell into Harry's mouth," Ron and Hermione remembered.

"Not necessarily. I noticed Harry's condition and was casting a spell to release the curse from his broom. That's when I sensed another magical force," George added, not wanting Harry to miss other details.

"Were there other people?" Harry was surprised to learn there might have been more than just Snape.

"Perhaps a professor saw the spell Snape cast and helped Harry suppress it," Hermione suggested.

"Snape is suspicious by nature. You can suspect him, and you should be cautious. But you can't automatically assume it's him and ignore other dangers," George reminded Harry. He didn't care if Snape was wrongly accused; he wanted Harry to be aware of other risks.

"The school isn't completely safe. You need to be more careful with your spells. Today, Harry was able to break free from a curse using magic, and he did very well."

George didn't hesitate to praise Harry. Today, Harry had shouted a single word and broken the curse—his performance surprised even George.

Yenling's power seemed perfectly attuned to Harry. Could he really be the Child of the Dimension? Faith and will had never been Harry's burden. With the power of words, Harry's future suddenly seemed full of possibilities.

During free periods with no classes, George would walk the corridors alone, heading to the library to begin his daily routine.

Along the way, people greeted him constantly. Unlike before, when he had been awkward and introverted, the growth of the Mutual Aid Club had made George's reputation grow, eventually making him one of the legends of the Watts campus.

Unlike typical adventure novels of past lives, the magical world in this story was no longer a boundless wilderness full of warships and adventurers.

After all, this was Earth in 1991, a world of explosive technological growth and expanding power, where ordinary humans could do almost anything. The magical world had been steadily pushed back by the rise of mundane forces. Endless wilderness, roaming beasts, and adventurers were stories from centuries ago.

Now, wizards had respectable jobs and lived off their professional skills. Wizards were no longer combat adventurers; they led ordinary nine-to-five lives, just like everyone else.
