Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The moment the system's voice faded, Jin immediately opened his eyes, a brilliant light shining within them!

Blue spiritual energy, like a tidal wave, instantly surged from his body, crashing out in all directions.

This immense spiritual energy violently sent the few people around him flying.

Like kites with their strings cut, they were thrown backward.

But before they could even regain their footing, they felt a heavy pressure bearing down on them.

Thud! Thud!

This powerful oppressive force made it impossible for them to stand. Their knees buckled, and they fell directly to the ground, their bodies forced to prostrate themselves.

They were completely unable to move!

Their eyes, which had been filled with killing intent just moments ago, now held only fear.

What was this terrifying sense of oppression?

Was it spiritual pressure?

How could such terrifying spiritual pressure exist?!

The fact that they had survived in District 80 for so long meant their spiritual energy levels weren't too low.

But now, the spiritual pressure Jin was displaying made them feel as if their very souls were about to be crushed!

They knelt prostrate around Jin, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.

Jin, however, clenched his fists, feeling the searing heat that filled his entire body, his heart pounding with excitement.

So this was the so-called ultimate spiritual energy and Annihilation Spiritual Pressure!

In the world of Soul Reapers, all things, including souls, are composed of "Reishi."

The amount of Reishi contained within a body represents the total amount of spiritual energy.

The density of Reishi determines the level of spiritual pressure.

The higher one's spiritual pressure, the more spiritual energy they can wield, and the stronger the power they can unleash!

The former Miagawa Jin had been unable to pass the Soul Reaper Academy's entrance exam precisely because of his insufficient spiritual energy and low spiritual pressure.

But after receiving these two rewards, Jin felt an unparalleled abundance of spiritual energy within him.

This powerful spiritual pressure was even a bit difficult for him to control at first.

When he had just opened his eyes, he hadn't actively released his spiritual pressure at all; it had merely radiated out unconsciously, yet it was enough to make these vagrants from District 80 bow their heads and tremble!

What if... he released it with his full power?

A glint appeared in Jin's eyes. He immediately focused his mind and unleashed his spiritual pressure with all his might.

BOOM!!

The immense spiritual pressure was like a flood bursting through a dam, raging violently in all directions and surging toward the sky.

Among the few ronin who were closer, the souls of two were directly crushed by this spiritual pressure!

Before they could even scream, they lost consciousness and died, their bodies immediately dissolving into scattered Reishi.

A wide grin spread across Jin's face, the blood in his chest surging with excitement.

...

Meanwhile, in the Seireitei, within the Fifth Division barracks.

A man wearing a white haori and black-framed glasses seemed to have noticed the anomaly.

He stood up and looked toward the Northern Rukongai, a trace of surprise flashing through his usually placid gaze.

But it was only for an instant before he returned to his calm demeanor.

Then, he pushed up his glasses and revealed a smile. "Interesting."

Following that, more Captains noticed this unusually powerful spiritual pressure.

Among them, of course, was the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 and Captain of the First Division, Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto.

He unhesitatingly issued an order for a Captains' assembly.

A quarter of an hour later, all thirteen Division Captains had assembled. Even Jushiro Ukitake, who was often absent due to illness, was present.

Twelve Captains stood in two rows, and above them in the center, Yamamoto Genryusai sat, leaning on his staff.

"I imagine you all have a good idea why I have summoned you here."

"A quarter of an hour ago, a powerful spiritual pressure appeared in the direction of the Rukongai, north of the Seireitei. Although it was far away and posed no threat to the Seireitei or the Shakonmaku..."

"However, for us to be able to sense the spiritual pressure from such a great distance is proof enough of its immensity... Therefore, we must not take this lightly!"

Yamamoto Genryusai's heavy voice fell.

At his side, Shunsui Kyoraku tipped his straw hat and spoke up, "Yare yare, Old Man Yama, that spiritual pressure has been gone for a while now. If we're going to act, we'd better do it soon..."

"Indeed." Yamamoto Genryusai tapped his staff on the ground. "We cannot allow such a powerful spiritual pressure of unknown origin to go unchecked. We must now dispatch a vanguard to investigate. If they are not an enemy, we can recruit them; if they are an enemy, they must be cut down without hesitation!"

"This vanguard will be led by Eighth Division Captain, Shunsui Kyoraku, with two other Captains assisting."

At this, his gaze swept over several of the Captains.

"Third Division Captain, Gin Ichimaru."

"Tenth Division Captain, Toshiro Hitsugaya."

"Are there any objections?"

Shunsui Kyoraku nodded slightly, indicating he had no objections.

"Of course there are no objections to the Captain-Commander's decision, haha, right, Captain Hitsugaya?"

Gin Ichimaru bent over, placing a hand on Toshiro Hitsugaya's shoulder beside him, smiling with his eyes narrowed.

Toshiro Hitsugaya pursed his lips and didn't answer him, but it was clear he also agreed.

But just then, Kenpachi Zaraki laughed with an excited expression and took a step forward.

"Hey, hey, old man, count me in, will ya? How can something this fun happen without me?!"

Yamamoto Genryusai opened his eyes and said in a deep voice, "Eleventh Division Captain Kenpachi, the target of this mission is not a Hollow or an intruder. There is a high probability that they are not an enemy. There is no need for a battle if it is not necessary. You are not permitted to go!"

After speaking, Yamamoto Genryusai tapped his wooden staff, signifying the decision was final.

"The rest of the Captains are not to let their guard down either. Be prepared at all times to defend against unknown crises!"

"Meeting adjourned!"
