Uchiha Obito's Plan Against Kakashi
"What a terrifying ninjutsu!"
"But… I've already memorized it with my Sharingan!"
"This jutsu is mine!"
Though Kakashi Hatake had locked himself away in a secluded dungeon to avoid pursuit, his curiosity about the outside situation was impossible to suppress.
He carefully opened a small gap in the wall, peeking just in time to witness Uchiha Yi forming hand seals and releasing a massive, disaster-level jutsu.
Kakashi's eyes widened. He quickly pulled down his mask, revealing his Sharingan, and instinctively began copying the movements.
Of course, this is exactly how Kakashi earned the title of Copy Ninja.
However, unbeknownst to Kakashi, there were no formal hand seals for the jutsu "Meteor Volcano."
It was the sheer improvisation of Uchiha Yi pinching his fingers together awkwardly to feign a proper sequence that made Kakashi believe he had deciphered a legitimate hand seal.
The genius Kakashi meticulously copied it with pride, convinced he had unlocked a powerful new technique.
If Uchiha Yi had witnessed this, he might have woken in the middle of the night laughing.
A wise shinobi once said: practice is the only measure of truth. Uchiha Yi had come to understand this fully.
Previously, he thought Meteor Volcano was unmatched in power, but upon testing, he realized that the effective output of the jutsu was not what he had expected. The battle record read 1–5–0, a mediocre result compared to his anticipation.
Yet Uchiha Yi did not feel discouraged.
Upon reviewing the fight, he noted that only the first level of Meteor Volcano could exert pressure over Jonin-level ninjas. When scaled to levels two or three, even Kage-tier shinobi would approach it with extreme caution.
With that in mind, Uchiha Yi immediately invested 300 chakra points into the technique, upgrading Meteor Volcano to level three.
With sporadic gains over time, his total chakra reserves returned to 1000 points.
SYSTEM ALERT: Upgrading jutsu is costly. Meteor Volcano: Level 3; Resist Fire Ring: Level 3. Future upgrades require 100 points per level; lottery draws require only 10 points and can convert duplicates into skill experience at 10% awakening progress per duplicate.
"This is ridiculously expensive…" Uchiha Yi muttered. He now understood why many shinobi preferred lottery draws over direct upgrades.
The duplicates of Flame–Flame Fruit, previously obtained, had increased the effective level of his major skills by 1%, stacking with previous enhancements.
Satisfied with his progress, Uchiha Yi continued dispatching shadow clones across the Land of Water, maintaining surveillance and reporting back in real time.
Meanwhile, a vortex of space opened at the base of a nearby mountain.
Uchiha Obito, mask firmly in place, appeared alongside a young kunoichi:
"Kakashi is somewhere in this foggy forest," Obito stated.
"Your mission is clear: seduce him, make him fall for you, and then abandon him mercilessly!"
"Make him taste the anguish of love unattainable!"
"Do you understand?"
Obito revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan through the mask, glancing toward the mist-shrouded forest before turning to the girl beside him.
"I understand!" Hua Ling replied.
"And if I succeed… will you spare my village?"
The masked man's gaze was cold, dismissive.
"As long as you complete this task, I do not care about your village. It is insignificant."
Obito truly saw the tiny country as expendable, only interested in manipulating the situation to ensnare Kakashi. Hua Ling, familiar with Kakashi, accepted this humiliating order out of desperation.
"Understood! I will accomplish this mission," she vowed.
The gap in power and status between them was staggering. Hua Ling realized her inferiority but tried to secure a promise to protect her homeland, however uncertain.
Steeling herself, she entered the dense mist:
"Kakashi… I'll let you feel this pain!"
"How does it feel when the one you love dies right before your eyes?"
Unbeknownst to Kakashi, this mission mirrored the tragic scene he had witnessed with Rin, but now he was the target, and Hua Ling was the instrument.
Kakashi, exhausted from evading Hidden Mist Village shinobi, had hidden deep within the foggy forest to avoid detection.
He slumped against a massive tree, weary and dejected, pulling out some dried rations to replenish his strength.
The journey to the Water Country had proven nearly impossible.
Mist ninja pursuit was relentless they seemed to anticipate his movements, as if they possessed a human-level tracking cheat.
No matter how he transformed or vanished, they relentlessly closed in.
Kakashi's mind raced.
Why is this happening? Who is behind it? That figure earlier… was he trying to help me?
He could not recall seeing Uchiha Yi before, nor did he know the extent of his abilities.
Never mind… I need to focus on surviving and finding a solution.
Though discouraged, Kakashi quickly steadied himself. The hunt might continue for days, but he would find a way forward.
Meanwhile, across the foggy forest, Saint Roselith Seraphina (née Roselith Clan) quietly observed the operation.
Her presence radiated nobility, and even from a distance, chakra measurements revealed she possessed the lineage-strength of her family.
