Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Sulk

Flint had already suspected his best friend would be furious at his selfishness in hiding his identity. She hadn't spoken to him since they'd returned home. He began to worry that his best friend was crying in her room and put a chain on the apartment door to prevent him from entering easily.

From afternoon until evening, his friend still hadn't taken the initiative to invite him to dinner, so he was forced to invite his assistant to dinner today. Although Alfonso was willing to accompany him on his day off, he still couldn't relax. He wondered whether his friend had eaten dinner yet.

His eyebrows continued to droop as he enjoyed dinner with Alfonso. He hadn't said a word since Alfonso had approached him. His right hand still limply held the chopsticks as he reached for the rice in his bowl.

"Flint, what's wrong with you? Didn't your mission to protect Ellen at the wedding today go smoothly?"
