Chapter 53 - Chapter 53 The Title of Hero

If this were in Copernicus, Fred would likely need to put in considerable effort to repel Yzak.

Second-Generation Coordinators—truly formidable.

With that thought, Fred used the same Iron Shoulder technique to send his opponent flying again.

But that wasn't entirely accurate.

To be precise, Fred first caught Yzak's still-youthful fist before propelling him away.

The setup differed slightly, but the outcome remained identical.

Yzak soared through the air once more, adjusted his posture mid-flight, and landed.

This time, however, Fred gave him no chance to recover.

He closed the distance immediately and followed up with a side kick.

This side kick was just an ordinary move he'd learned at the gym.

Similar to a karate side kick, it utilized powerful core rotation for momentum. Like a coiled spring, Fred unleashed a swift kick toward Yzak just as he was about to touch ground.

Thud

A solid impact echoed as the blow connected.

Though Yzak blocked with his arms crossed, the lack of leverage still sent him tumbling sideways.

With no room to adjust, Yzak crashed directly onto the grassy field, kicking up clumps of soil from the soft earth.

"Stop!"

Seeing his son being treated like a punching bag, Bedell finally snapped back to reality.

Winning was impossible now.

Keep fighting? What a joke.

If this continued, Ezalia would be the next one pounding him.

Hearing this, Fred promptly halted his movements.

Seeing Yzak struck in a Yamcha-like pose made Fred slightly remorseful.

After all, he was just a child.

Fred had gotten carried away, excited by his own improving skills.

Not that it mattered much.

The goal was to defeat him into submission anyway.

"If you're still not convinced, feel free to come find me anytime," Fred said with a laugh to the boy still sprawled on the ground.

"..."

Yzak slowly rose from the muddy grass, his pale face now smeared with dirt. A few blades of grass clung to his lips, painting a pitiful picture.

But his earlier fury had vanished.

Like a malfunctioning appliance fixed by a good kick, he'd suddenly calmed down.

Despite his disheveled state, Yzak didn't cry and refused his father's helping hand.

"I'll return when I've grown stronger."

"Alright."

Pfft

Just as Fred responded, Flay burst into laughter upon noticing a strand of grass sticking out from Yzak's mouth as he spoke.

Hearing the laughter and sensing the foreign object in his mouth, Yzak turned away.

He wouldn't stoop to arguing with a girl.

"Flay."

Amidst the other's tsundere act, Fred chided his sister's laughter.

"Don't mock someone who gave their all."

The boy's voice carried unusual seriousness.

Principles mattered, and he needed to teach his sister properly.

Yzak had genuinely exerted his utmost abilities and fought honorably. While picking fights wasn't admirable, mocking his efforts wasn't cool either.

"...Okay"

Under her brother's gaze, Flay parted her lips slightly, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

The girl remembered what her brother had said before he left for Copernicus, back when she was playing pranks on other children.

You must not bully the weak, nor take pleasure in mocking others.

Realizing this, Flay lowered her head toward Yzak not far away.

"I'm sorry."

"It's nothing..."

Faced with Flay's apology, Yzak, feeling somewhat unaccustomed, also lowered his head in a gentlemanly manner.

Of course, it would have been better if his face were a bit cleaner.

"Then... can I come find you next time?"

For some reason, after hearing Fred's words earlier, he felt as though he had done something wrong.

After all, his earlier outburst had been triggered by the other's words, but Fred clearly hadn't meant to mock him.

At this moment, Yzak even felt a faint sense of regret rising in his heart.

His words carried a hint of uncertainty and politeness.

"Sure, you're welcome."

Fred smiled and took out a handkerchief from behind him, handing it to the other.

"Alright, go back and wash up."

"Mm..."

Beside them, Bedell watched the surprisingly well-behaved Yzak before him, utterly stunned.

Was this his son?

Had he been kicked silly?

Of course, he was only joking. He quickly realized that Fred had likely earned Yzak's respect.

Not only was he strong, but he also possessed a more noble spirit.

A hero—truly a well-deserved title.

Lost in these thoughts, Bedell apologized to Heather a few more times before taking his son back home.

"Yzak, do you want to stay here for classes?"

Looking at Yzak, now cleaned up and restored to his noble young master appearance, Bedell spoke.

His voice carried a rare seriousness.

"Stay here...?"

Yzak, who had only planned to stay for a few days, was taken aback.

"Yes, there happens to be a private tutor teaching a small class. Flay from next door is in it too, so you two can keep each other company."

That small class wasn't just for Flay—it was also prepared for Athrun and the others.

Given that, Patrick would undoubtedly hire the best teacher.

He wouldn't have to worry about his son's education.

Moreover, Fred had already perfectly demonstrated his character to him earlier.

If he had been dissatisfied with Fred beating up his son before, after hearing Fred's teachings to his sister, his opinion had completely changed.

Upright and principled—he hoped Yzak could become someone like that in the future.

And since his usually rebellious son seemed quite impressed by Fred, he decided to strike while the iron was hot.

"...Alright!"

After a brief hesitation, Yzak agreed.

If he didn't stay here, how could he fight Fred and get his revenge?

So staying here was the better choice.

He would defeat him fair and square one day!

Thinking this, Yzak's eyes grew even more fervent.

"I'm going to train."

"Wait! Come back and eat!!!"

Watching his son who did as he pleased, Bedell shouted in exasperation to stop him.

He could only hope that Fred would truly be able to guide Yzak well.

Looking at Yzak, who was clearly displeased but still stopped in his tracks, Bedell thought helplessly.

"Ah, so that's what happened."

On the other side, in Fred's home, George nodded belatedly after just hearing about what had happened earlier in the household.

Although still at home, the soundproofing of the home theater was evidently quite effective.
