Chapter Title: Overflowing Aura

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I spread my aura slowly, as if circulating it deliberately.

Releasing aura outside the body required reaching the Expert level at minimum, and precise control was the domain of Sword Masters. Yet right now, far more aura than I intended was overflowing automatically, beyond my will.

Moreover, I'd practiced controlling it to the point of boredom, so reining it in wasn't particularly difficult.

'But they can't sense this aura at all.'

⚙ SYSTEM NOTIFICATION ⚙ All energy bodies you possess have trajectories different from ordinary energy bodies.

Was it because I'd accumulated it in a way I devised myself, or because it was built up in the special environment of Labyrinthos?

Either way, if the enemy let their guard down, it made things easier for me.

I wasn't leaving this place immediately because there was something I needed to confirm.

'System.'

[Confirmed.]

'Do you remember the reports on those businesses in my room?'

[I remember everything.]

'What about the merchants' personal details and family info listed there?'

[I remember everything. Cross-referencing the confirmed personal details.]

That was enough.

The fact that everyone kidnapped as hostages was mostly here made the visit worthwhile.

Of course, I still needed to check if there were other locations besides this one.

"Right. Now that I think about it, I could just ask directly."

Did my muttering irritate him?

The knight guarding the prison scowled and suddenly opened the cell door, stepping inside.

It was the guy from Berus's house who'd threatened me.

"Hm? Being released?"

At my question, he immediately reached out, grabbed my collar, and shoved me back.

As an Aura User, his reinforced body lifted mine effortlessly.

"What the hell have you been mumbling to yourself? I'm already pissed guarding a dump like this prison."

"Hey, what are you doing?!"

His fellow knight shouted in panic, but the man gripping my collar ignored him without a care.

"What's it matter? He's gonna die soon anyway. Let me vent a bit."

Unlike what Bishiri Cascadia, Tibel's son, had said, it seemed they had no intention of sparing me either.

That sparked my curiosity.

Why did this guy harbor such rage toward House Cascadia, my family?

Could Father have acted differently in places I didn't know about?

He'd always been a man of good character, which only made me more curious.

Beep!
