Chapter 93 - Meeting Judge Vance [2]

"And how did you take yours?" Judge Vance asked, watching Damian move behind the counter.

"Black." He shrugged as though it were the most obvious answer in the world.

"I expected someone with your looks to have a sweet tooth." She arched a brow.

Damain stopped in his tracks and gave her an amused look, the kind a person gave when someone clearly had no idea what they were talking about.

"Believe me when I say there is nothing sweet about me."

With that, Damian busied himself with the coffee machine, and she let her gaze travel over him while pretending she was merely taking in the room again. Judge Vance folded her hands loosely in her lap.

"I had imagined many things when you asked to meet privately. Like why would a lawyer be interested in a judge?"

Damian chuckled at her words and took a seat opposite her. Raising a brow, he asked,

"Don't you think you are asking the wrong question?"

"Ooh?" She smiled faintly. "What question should I be asking?"
