By the end of the night, Damian led Clara into one of the many guest rooms.
"This is your room whenever you visit," Damian said, watching as Clara stepped inside.
She took in the space slowly. The high ceilings, the wide windows, the quiet elegance that came with a home built on excess yet maintained with care. There was a certain freshness in the air, the kind that only came from space and silence untouched by the outside world.
Clara turned back toward him, but Damian had already moved. He slipped past her like a blur, forcing her to turn again, only to find him already seated on the reading couch near the window, his legs casually crossed over the glass table.
"Did you have fun today?" Damian asked.
She nodded immediately, a bright smile spreading across her face.
Clara hurried over and dropped onto the sofa opposite him, her excitement impossible to hide.
"Of course. When I first saw your wives, I was kind of scared, but they are really amazing people…"
